My underline. There is nothing wrong with that, but when I go in a brothel, I do not want to cultivate a relationship, I want to take a boy off the stage, like doing grocery shoping. I do cultivate relationships with some Thai boys who provide sex for money for me, because I speak their language and prices are reasonable (500 Baht, no drinks, no off fees).
-
In my opinion, 50 or max. 100 Baht would be the right amount to get your point across, i.e. a polite way to say "fuck you". With 500 Baht, many boys will think "Wow! 500 Baht for nothing! Let's try this again tomorrow!".

There is a book about places to visit near MRT and BTS stations, but it's in Thai and many of the entries are "where and what to eat" which is a non-issue for me. What exactly? I went part of the purple line, not much of interest around.

Try Babylon sauna.

I'm very comfortable traveling alone. In Thailand I have the advantage of speaking the language, so I don't need a local to help, and anyway I usually know much better the average local. (Locals trying to help can be a problem for me, can waste a lot of time talking, then pretend to accept their advice, and still do it my way once they are gone.) For other countries I would guess that the experienced traveler, even if he doesn't speak the language, is better off alone than with the average local.

More like an eye in a triangle (like in the dollar note) with wings.

So would I. When I enter a gogo bar, I first check if number of boy is sufficient (more than 10, or if less than 10 one clearly worth a second look) and how they are dressed. If I see boys in trousers, I tell staff I want to see underwear and leave. As it happened in 360 degree last time I poked my head in.

An impressive list, that is more than everything I have experienced. Some recommendations: I use google maps so I know where I come from, where I'm going, and where I am (not foolproof, there can be U-turns, one-way streets, buses that don't go the shortest way). I try to be as independent as possible, e.g. buy bus and train tickets at the counter and not involve tour agencies or hotel staff, eat at restaurants that cater to locals.

My reports from Jan 2015 seem to be the most recent and detailed: http://christianpfc.blogspot.de/2015/01/hat-yai-gay-bars-and-massage.html http://christianpfc.blogspot.de/2015/01/gay-saunas-in-hat-yai.html see here as well: http://llz.blogspot.de/2014/06/curiosity.html

There are worse ways to die. The poor girls must have gotten the shock of her life. I stayed in Bueng Gan twice last year and didn't notice any available ladies. The man must have had local knowledge or connections.

Now I know my way around Thailand, and those scams and overpricing take place in touristy places, which I don't frequent any more. In the provinces no problem at all. But scams make up a large part of my memories of Bali. (From scamming to overpricing.) And I won't go to Phuket or Samui any time soon, because I vividly remember overpriced transport and food. On the other hand, I don't recall any scams in my two visits to Vietnam (Jan and Mar 2016), but that might be because I have experience from Thailand and now can easily spot and avoid scams everywhere.

Pattaya Trip (first timer) – 2nd to 7th February 2017
ChristianPFC replied to a topic in Gay Thailand
Can you elaborate? -
That has nothing to do with being a communist country. Most countries do not allow their own civilians, leave alone foreign tourists, to enter military facilities. There is some local tourism at military facilities in Thailand. As far as I know, the aircraft carries is open to Thai public (but not to foreign nationals) when in Sattahip.
-
And I'm a bit wary, because I've been burnt by Vietnamese boys (more precisely Vietnamese money boys in Bangkok, no complaints about free Vietnamese boys in Bangkok and Vietnam). Just two of them spoilt it for all others. (Just like the many scams that are running in Thailand, a small one-time gain for one person, but a huge loss for the entire country.)

There is no commercial sex in gay saunas in Thailand (in over 200 visits to 40 different saunas, there were two hints that remuneration would be appreciated, which I instantly dismissed), and I hope it stays that way. Gay saunas is the only place where I can be absolutely sure that sex is free. With encounters online or in real life (disco, bar), you never know.

A good bar! Based on many visits and taking several boys over the last 7 years. Boys change numbers, however I had a boy Arm #13 from there (26oct2016, big tattoo of a head of a tiger on his neck below Adam's apple, PM me for picture, tattooes are a much better way to refer to boys, although I prefer boys without tattoos). We did only short time, and I would recommend him to friends and take him again. As for helping boys, in most cases we can only alleviate the symptoms, but not fight the underlying cause. Your new friend has lost his mobile phone or dropped it and it broke? You can buy him a new one, but some day he will drop or lose this as well. In 17 years, I have never lost or dropped a mobile phone.

I disagree. One of the reasons I rarely go to Soi 4 is the loud music. Not just loud music, a real cacophony of loud music, different songs from each bar, and noise from other customers (who have to shout at each other, just as I have to shout). And on top of that, someone might smoke on next table.

Seredipity - January visit - Bangkok, Pattaya, and back
ChristianPFC replied to ggobkk's topic in Gay Thailand
Yes indeed, after realizing from this thread that there is a general interest in the Royal Barges Museum, I wrote a post about my visit in November. -
This subject has been discussed several times before, here in brief what I said before: After two negative experiences (on from Fresh Boys ? around 2012, ok in bed but mercenary during negotiations afterwards - wanted 2000 for short time, I had to kick him out with 1600) and non-offable boy in Scorpion bar in 2013, I will not take Vietnamese moneyboys in Bangkok again. Experiences with free Vietnamese boys in Bangkok and Vietnam ok. (My experiences with between 5 and 10 money boys from Cambodia or Lao in Thailand all positive.)

Soft drinks (pineapple juice in Dec 2016) are just 100 Baht (same as Super A in Bangkok). Good luck with the sale, and hope the new owner continues to run the bar in a similar way.
-
From all my travels, Pattaya is by the the most convenient, biggest choice, reasonable prices. Sure I can get local boys for 500 Baht (no off fees, no drinks), but it takes a while to get them and they are not to order from the stage. The sauna scene in Phnom Penh, Saigon, Taipei is comparable* to Bangkok (although lower number of venues), and the gay hot spring in Taipei is unique. *Unfortunately, that means that most other customers there are too old and too fat for my taste, same as in Bangkok. With Taipei a notable exception: few fatties.

I know two: one is rich and doesn't care, the other is trapped in the the tourism bubble, but now mainly takes his business to Pattaya. I have long passed that stage where I look forward to a trip to Soi Twilight.

Years ago, the White Rose hotel in Pattaya (opposite former Happy Boys) had this note: (details in my blog http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2013/12/notes-in-hotel-in-south-pattaya.html) And in Thung Mahamek privacy hotel (near Malaysia hotel) I had to pay for a full night in 2013, as they don't rent room short time to same sex couples.
