  1. I thought the same but would have let this pass as it really is not relevant to the subject, but you are right, Wichian Buri is in Petchabun and hence part of Northern Thailand. Congratulations to your knowledge of Thai geography or your command of google.
  2. Most advertising has young, healthy, slim people.
  3. From the other pier to the railway station it's about 500 m walk, and the way is not obvious.
  4. Somehow, I never saw a boy I liked or any other reason to go to Double Shot. The only occasion I remember going to that bar was when they had a charity auction (lead by Monty, when he was still alive) years ago.
  5. Then you were lucky to get the last train. Farose 2 has accommodation (pretty basic rooms for 300 THB ? per night) and a friend who comes from far away occasionally stays there. But if you can sleep everywhere, sleep on their furniture in the sauna as many others do.
  6. Thanks to both of you (samebb and sglad - wherever you come from and whoever you are) for your advice. There we go again: ball games! In my entire life, I was forced about 10 times to participate in ball games (football or volleyball during school - in the army they quickly realized I'm of no use and I was allowed to spend the time running around the football field, an activity I enjoy much more). Yes indeed, I get invitations to join, but sorry, if that's the way to meet cute boys, I rather pay. The statistic is against me when it comes to meeting possible sexual partners via friends or friends of friends: assuming the group is not gay, there is a chance of 1:20 that one of them is gay, another 1:20 that he is my type, another 1:20 that I'm his type, that makes 1:8000. I once had an invitation to join a boy (good English) to church (!), better than football, at least I can enjoy the architecture, but I fell uncomfortable during religious activities. It seems I have been through all options and there is only the gay saunas (free) and gay bars (pay) left for me. I haven't been to DJ station this year (?) but it's on my list, I will watch out.
  7. This statistic is almost meaningless. First, the differences are insignificant (6000 at the lower end and 7000 at the higher end). Second, various countries are missing: the US, GB, Germany, France, New Zealand, Malaysia, Russia (all countries that have significant numbers of tourists in Thailand). Third, you would have to multiply the numbers in the statistic by duration of stay by number of tourists from that country.
  8. ??? How did you get there and away? (At the time the sauna is busy, the only reasonable way to get there and away is by taxi. You can go by bus along Ramkhamhaeng road, but at night you might have to wait half an hour for a bus. And there is the Saen Saep Canal boat, which starts around 6 am, that would be an option for those who stay that long. However when I once stayed up to around 3 am - unusually late for me - there was already a decline in customer numbers, and many sleeping.)
  9. I have very little interaction with mamasans and will keep it that way. But interestingly, for others it seems to work to do all their interaction via mamasan:
  10. The saunas and apps are full of them.
  11. Sorry to hear. At the same time (Wed 19jul2017, 20:47-22:25) I was in Prism which was full of boys (I counted 17, might have been more) and several my type.
  12. Where can I meet them?
  13. There is one more gay sauna Club One Seven a bit out of town. And if you haven't been to Adam's Apple, you should!
  14. You can get there by bus or by train (what a surprise!). Buses best from southern bus terminal, trains from near Wong Wian Yai (a small railway station that serves only that line, including one crossing of river by ferry and then boarding another train). Timetables and details on the internet.
  15. Why do you think it's a bad idea? I find it's great! I would like more privacy for the gayromeo forum, to avoid such disaster as in the "Ode to boyish beauty" thread. Picture only visible to members is a good start, and it should be exempted from being found by google, and only visible to members with a certain number of posts.
  16. Where does it say so? I haven't read the original text in Thai, but everything in English only says 20,000 THB. I would not count on other currencies: there are many (list of exchange rates at superrich has about 20 currencies) it's not an immigration officer's job to know all possible currencies and their exchange rates, and if you come with a million dollar, they still might want to see 20,000 THB.
  17. I wish I could meet some of them!
  18. Farose 2 has no dress code (the only sauna I know without dress code) and indeed about 10% of customers is fully dressed (most of them stay in the disco room). Indeed, I had a strain of bad luck this year with 20 (twenty!) sauna visits in a row without success. I don't know of any Bangkok sauna that offers 2for1. Did you confuse this with House of Male in Chiang Mai? I don't know of individual discounts, only varying prices based on age in some places. I'm looking for twinks as well, and after checking all gay saunas in Bangkok at least twice, I ended up with mostly going to Farose 2, Nake, 39 underground. Details on my blog. This is not the first time security warnings when accessing my blog are reported. It's not my area of expertise, there is nothing I know or can do about it.
  19. As far as I know, there are plenty of westerners teaching English without work permit. The Thai government takes the easy way: checking people who enter Thailand, instead of searching for those who work illegally (which is much more difficult). Anyway, no harm is done if a westerner teaches English without work contract. Only to be on the safe side I took 20 kTHB when I did a visa run to Penang, and upon return to Thailand learnt that this is compulsory at Sadao border. Another passenger on the van did not have 20 kTHB and was sent back to Malaysia.
  20. I have done most. However this is new to me:
  21. I'm going to gogo bars and take boys out from there so I NOT have to do the above recommended. However, most are so-so in bed, so you might have a point. Even with speaking Thai better than most of them speak English, there is little common ground.
  22. Or even better, write a post on the gayromeo forum. Two recommendations already in this thread..
  23. That would work for me. That's what I mean. As for parading the boy around, indeed there is nothing to be gained, the boy will be bored, and buying drinks for him in other bars costs money that is just wasted. Putting the booked boy on stage without number seems the best solution. Nowadays with my bedtime in when in Pattaya rather before 1 am than after 1 am, my offs tend to be earlier. My last off was 20:30, and compared to offing at boy at midnight, I don't have to worry that the boy has his mind more on joining his friends after work and squandering the tip.
  24. That just encourages them to try again. As for holding hands in public, I don't do for various reasons: I'm 184 cm and most local boys are significantly shorter, so one of us has to contort to get our hands at same level; when walking on sidewalk next to each other we have to navigate around other pedestrians and on roads without sidewalk walking next to each other is out of question; when crossing roads it's better to cross separately.
  25. Disagree. I think overnight train is great. Admitted, I sleep better in hotel rooms, but for trains you don't have to arrive one or two hours before departure like airplanes, and you don't waste any daytime. I have been once, and find it overpriced (did they raise the price from 400 to 500 or 600 for Foreigners) and even worse full of tourists! Nothing can destroy the beauty of a place like masses of tourists. Overland travel in Lao: I once took the sleeper bus (my only sleeper bus) from Vientiane to Phonsavan. That trip was fine, but all other bus trips in Lao rather boring and not for people who get motion sickness. From Luang Prabang to Chiang Rai was the worst, even I got unwell and had to stop reading (while others were puking right, left and center from motion sickness).
