  1. When I eat in Silom area, it's mostly in Sukiya Japanese Fast Serve or Madrid restaurant for pizza or Sizzler Salad bar with a vegetarian friend (to my surprise, they have pasta and other food so I can have a full meal there).
  2. In my vast experience, there is no correlation between level of service and money paid. That's why I do street-trade (rarely nowadays) where the chance for good sex short-time for 500 THB is similar as in Pattaya (where I take all my business nowadays) for 1000 or in Bangkok bars for 1500++ (which I don't do any more).
  3. Payment for off fee and drink(s) goes to wait staff in general, or mamasan, whoever is first to take your payment. My underline. These people are not your friends, they are out to take as much money from you as is possible without use of force.
  4. I don't know what the bars around Surawong are doing, but I remember some years ago Farose 1 sauna had a South-East-Asian big cock contest. I chatted with one of the performers (from Cambodia, still working in gogo around Surawong) and while he is not my type, he is a friend's type and I brought then into contact and they had many happy times together. But such contests are rare, I haven't heard of one since. Not handsome man, but there is Miss Universe in Impact Arena soon. This is getting rare, and I'm happy about that. One guy giving massage (I spot it right when I enter the toilet, and decline), another turning on the water for me, a third handing me a towel, and they all asking for tip, which I happily decline hoping this will accelerate the demise of this awful custom.
  5. We are dealing with three different entities: Embassy The Thai embassy in Berlin requires a flight out of Thailand to issue a tourist visa. I always had a flight within 60 days of arrival, and nowadays don't to extension any more anyway. It remains a mystery to me why embassy asks for a flight out of Thailand, even for flight to Thailand. The starting date of the visa is not related to these dates. At least the flight out of Thailand, I would like to have more freedom when and where to go, instead of having date and place 3 months in advance. And for flight to Thailand, which has to be shortly after visa starts, but I would rather have the visa first and book the flight after. E-visa for Myanmar does not require flight in or out, only port of entry has to be specified. And technically you can only enter Myanmar if you have a ticket out, but I have done four times without and never been asked. Airline In the encounter quoted above (China airlines from Taipei to Bangkok), I had no visa, but flight out of Thailand within 60 days and a printout of website about 30 days extension, and could show all my previous visa free entries and extensions, but airline staff insisted on a flight out of Thailand within 30 days. Immigration These are whose business it is, but I have never been asked for flight out of Thailand by immigration!
  6. bkkguy is alluding to the Thai term for rimming, which is ล้างตู้เย็น láang dtôo yen literally "clean the refrigerator". So there is a Thai expression, but I have only come across it in books, never on gay contents in social networks. And rarely have I come across the activity in real life.
  7. From airline to embassy requirements to enter Thailand. While the Thai embassy in Berlin accepts bus or train tickets as proof of leaving Thailand, train tickets can only be bought 60 days in advance which is too short for my purposes. Anyway, a train ticket to Aranyaprathet or Nong Khai implies leaving Thailand by the nearby border crossing, but is still in Thailand. A bus ticket to Siem Reap would work. But you never know if the airline staff or immigration officer would accept a bus ticket as proof of leaving Thailand. With a flight, you are on the safe side.
  8. I don't understand. Please explain.
  9. Most of my flights to Thailand are one-way with a tourist visa, so no problem here. I was asked for ticket out of Thailand when I boarded China Airlines in Taipei to Bangkok. I didn't have, and I didn't have a visa either, so all I could do was to buy a fully refundable flight out of Thailand. To make things easier, I did with the same airline, a flight Bangkok to Taipei which cost me about 30,000 THB. The refunding worked, but there were losses (e.g. 1.75% by my German bank whose credit card I used to pay for the flight), that amounted to about 3,000 THB. That would have been a cheaper option! Is the waiver instead of ticket at discretion of the airline or staff? Addendum: I recently found that when you pay flights with Nok Air at 7-Eleven, there is a time frame of 24 hours during which the payment has to be made. But the document issued to make payment is not a reservation.
  10. Sounds like you are my type! Message me if you want to meet. (Might be too late, but I'm reading this thread only now.)
  11. That depends on many things. When I first came to Bangkok, I stayed in Ibis Sathorn by recommendation of a friend, and found Farang friends in that area, and have been living here ever since. But if you want to go local, you can live in the suburbs of Bangkok and save a lot on rent, or even in the villages. If you travel a lot, like I do, you need proximity to public transport. Whereas a friend of mine stays home most of the time, and tends to his garden and animals, and lives in a location that would be awful for me.
  12. That's what they (staff in bars and boys) are trying to push the short time tip, and what people who want to be on the safe side pay. I have never been in such a situation, and probably never will be, but that does not deter me from offering my two cents of wisdom: I would offer the the going rate (1500 in Bangkok or 1000 in Pattaya) for a threesome.
  13. I shower before I go out. And as going out does not involve sweating, I can go directly to bed when I come back with someone. I will leave it to the boy if he wants to shower or not. I prefer directly to bed. I like warm and dry skin, and after shower my or the boy's skin is cold and wet and it needs time to get warm and dry. These numbers are high. I do not tip at all, but if you have to tip staff that provided non-sexual service, I think 20 THB is well received and 100 is over the top. I tip 100 to boys I have to sit with me in Pattaya, in addition to buying them a drink, and that is well received (but considering there are many high spenders in Bangkok, 100 might be looked down in Bangkok for having a boy sit with you)
  14. Absolutely! I have a policy of ordering one drink per bar, regardless if the visit is 30 minutes (my average) or 3 hours (record).
  15. Rather expensive. The only time I used a short time room in Pattaya (2013, 400 THB, even that is expensive by my standards) is here: https://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2013/11/pattaya-weekend-8-10112013-part-2.html
  16. For hand luggage, there are meters where your hand luggage has to fit in. And sometimes they have scales/balances as well for weighing. Something similar is need for passengers. A narrow door where the passenger has to fit through. (Akin to, but not as narrow as, the "slim-up room" in 39 underground sauna, where even I have trouble to squeeze through the bars.) Or like bridges or underpasses have a bar at a certain height, so cars higher than that will hit the bar first which causes only little damage compared to hitting the bridge/underpass. (I admit I had a few giggles while writing this post. But what else can be done?)
  17. I once saw a passenger whose body fat was hanging over into the aisle of the airplane. It's the airline's duty to make sure every passenger has his space, i.e. the fat does not hang over the armrest. They should have denied the fatty boarding. Even without the injury part, I find it unacceptable that someone from neighboring seat can invade my space.
  18. That's a completely different story. These encounters are for free, and scientifically speaking, there are three degrees of freedom: space, time, chemistry (in a figurative sense) between me and the boy. I have to find one with mutual attraction, find a time when he and I are free, and a place to meet. All this is no issue when offing a boy in a bar.
  19. Why is this all so complicated? When I go to gogo bars in Sunee plaza, I neither tip mamasan, I don't know their names, I wouldn't even recognize them in the street. Just like cashier in the supermarket. I take my time to watch the boys (with the occasional "Which boy you like?" - "I'm just looking tonight."), and if I see one I like, I beckon him to sit with me, and if audition is positive, I take him to my room. Do we have sex or not? Does the Pope read the Bible?
  20. Lek hotel (?) in Sunee Plaze, near Good Boys and on the same side, has shot (sic!) time rooms. Prices posted outside, 350 for short time (or is the fan room overnight?).
  21. I do not know any of these places. But then, massage shops is not my area of interest. Do yourself a favor and get a facebook account so you can see all that information. gboysiam changed address several times, the current is https://pic.gboysiam69.com/friend/ and I don't get a warning when I access it.
  22. I have an overview of Gay Thailand forums, blogs, guides, encounters and magazines that I posted in 2015 but keep updated. https://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2015/02/gay-forums-blogs-guides-and-encounters.html
  23. Everywhere else I want to know the price in advance, at best clearly displayed. I'm hesitant to ask for the price of a good, I rather go somewhere else where the price is displayed. But when hiring moneyboys, I never bring up the price. Either they start talking numbers or I give them the going rate afterwards. As for tipping boys I do not off in bars, I'm very inconsistent and illogical. It's always 100 THB. That can be either for having a boy sit with me, and that case he gets a drink as well, and fondling and kissing for about 10 minutes; or handing the money to a boy on stage and only running my hands over his abdomen, butt, bulge.
  24. I disagree. There are various places of interest, mostly temples for me, all around Bangkok that you could spot from a high point. I would go at least an hour before sunset to have natural light. After darkness I can't see the point of being in a high point.
  25. In a generous moment, I would put that number at 80%. I have had plenty of stupid, lazy, greedy boys in the bars and freelancers. An interesting case last week. I we agreed to meet at a shopping mall Pata Pinklao near his place. An hour later he messaged me that he does not like to have sex on first date, and I agreed. And hour later he asked to borrow 3000 THB, I declined. An hour later he asked to borrow 1000, I declined. An hour later I offered him 500 for sex, message was read by no reply. All conversation was in Thai, and most Thai boys who do not speak English are happy with 500. You could argue that your number is about boys you met, whereas my above story is about a boy I have not met. But I can drag out plenty of examples of boys I have met who are stupid, lazy, greedy. But I'm getting better at detecting them early on and move to worthier cases.
