  1. I think there were just too many options to get conclusive results? My interpretation is that readers are intersted in most of the items listed in the poll. I do see that you left out the Israeli-Palestine and other such political issues which seem to dominate on one of the other forums which does not use Gay in their name.
  2. Somehow I feel that all that glitters is not gold! Once downside is that the PE is only to Hong Kong and then Economy on final leg to Bangkok. Just from looking at Seat Guru it appears that EVA offers better seating in PE. Anyone tried EVA?
  3. The wovles were wearing lovely grey fur coats with a splash of crimson around their pearly white teeth and a white jabot at their throat. Plus LEDs for eyes.
  4. I did check out some reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and the majority of the reviews by the critics were positive which surprised me. Although a few did feel it was the worst movie ever filmed. So, maybe best to see for yourselves, but remember to bring a barf bag or empty your bag of popcorn and use that. I don't want to be a spoiler, but at the ending, Liam Neeson, our hero, taped some empty mini-liquor bottles between his fingers, broke the ends and greeted Mr. Grey. Too bad these mini-bottles are now plastic and not glass.
  5. 5555 KT! After writing my review I did check the NYTimes review by their AO Scott the #1 movie critic @ NYT. He actually gave it a great review. I wonder who is paying him, the NYT or ??? At the exit to the theater at Central Festival there was a Vomitorium for those who were nauseated. It was overflowing.
  6. Today I did view the movie, The Grey, in Pattaya. A story of men vs wolves. Given the choice of being eaten alive by the wolves or viewing this movie, I suggest the wolves which would be a merciful death compared to the two hours of pure agony watching it. At least the dialogue was easy to follow since very other word was "fuck" or a variant thereof. Save your money and your sanity.
  7. There is a lot of CHitchat on this forum that is a bit sense-less to me also. Often I cannot fig what posters are say-ing; some spk and wrt in cryptic terms.
  8. Sorry Kuhn Worthy; you have to be HERE for a full report. Absolutley revolting, not for a man of your caliber! I was so appalled that I left after two hours.
  9. When it comes to nuclear weapons neither the word of the N.Koreans or Iranians can be believed or trusted.
  10. You should have been HERE last night!!!
  11. Why not more go-go bars? I believe it all has to do with local laws which either allow or prohibit nudity. Also necessary to have a pool of customers for these venues such as in established gay areas. Canada/Montreal has a very tolerant view of gays and not so staight laced as the USA.
  12. A much safer sleeping aid is Sonata/Zaleplon 10mg for both air travel and elsewhere. It is good for a few hours such as on a plane and no after effects. Also quite inexpensive for the generic Zaleplon. For longer lasting relief try Lunesta which is much more expensive.
  13. From my experience, zolpidem/Ambien is a nasty type of sleeping pill with adverse effects. I can easily believe it can lead to death. One time, after using it at night, I made several serious driving errors that morning such as driving through a STOP sign at a dangerous intersection where people had previously been killed for not stopping.
  14. Montreal, Canada has some good go-go bars. The routine is for the stripper to first dance in street apparel and then, for the follow up dance, to appear "tout nu" all naked with an erection. These go go are then available to do a "danse prive" in the back room for a price. The Gay Village in Montreal is the place to be if in that area of the world.
  15. Abraham Lincoln, 19 Nov. 1863, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Estimated crowd 20,000. Not bad in those days. [by all accounts, the crowds were enormous. People had come from far and wide to attend the dedication ceremonies; for many, it was a journey they would never forget. Streets leading into Gettysburg were clogged to capacity, a newspaper reporter wrote, "by citizens from every quarter thronging into the village in every kind of vehicle—old Pennsylvania wagons, spring wagons, carts, family carriages, buggies, and more fashionable modern vehicles, all crowded with citizens—kept pouring into the town in one continual string." The armies had long since left Gettysburg, but now the town was overwhelmed by a new "invading host" who came by wagon, by train, by horse, and by foot to witness history in the making]. One hundred years later in 1963 John F Kennedy gave a speech in Berlin where there was an exceptional huge crowd.
  16. 555 I suppose I just don't want to get involved although in more cramped conditions a little conversation seems inevitable. It is on the last leg of the flight to BKK from Tokyo which I am most leary of speaking with seatmates. Almost all passengers in Business are farang men; one time a guy started a conversation regarding Pattaya etc and I steered clear of that.
  17. I hate speaking with seat mates on airlines other then a minor pleasantry. Then on come the headphones, and then the sunglasses when sleeping. I actually enjoy the flights when in Business Class and like my cocoon. Economy is another matter best forgotten.
  18. As promised, Fountainhall did deliver a bottle of Champagne, Veueve Clicquot (The Widow of Clicquot), to me via a friend in Bangkok. I will surely enjoy this treat on my birthday next month at Au Bon Coin in Pattaya. A million thanks to Fountainhall for sponsoring the Champage Quiz and offering such a generous prize. Here is a picture of Madame Clicquot who, it appears, is a bit of a gourmand as well as a wine mistress.
  19. Never fear! Back in 1054 CE there was a recorded supernova from a star that was about the same distance as Eta Carinae 7000 light years away. It was reported as 1/4 the brightness of a full moon. The earth survived, this time. There have been a number of supernovas that have been observed since ancient times that have occurred to stars in our Milky Way Galaxy but still a rare occurence.
  20. So many famous names of those who died so early. Not mentioned was Bobby Driscoll. You must remember him? Young Jim Hawkins of Treasure Island fame. As a youth I longed to be a cabin boy with Long John Silver as my mentor. No doubt he was called that for a very good reason! Bobby Driscoll was a child actor who later turned to drugs and alcohol and died at about age 30 in an abandoned house in NYC. His remains are in a potters field in NYC but a cenotaph in his memory is in Oceanside, CA, where I once resided.
  21. A bit of nibbling can be fun on a bannana.
  22. I had plugged in dates from Oct 15 to Dec 15 which offered premium economy for about $2100 USD however PE was only from New York to Hong Kong. The next segment was listed as Economy, from Hong Kong to Bangkok thus sort of a half-assed fare. 23. One wonders why God Almighty would intervene in any way during a sports event or, even worse, take sides in a war where each side claim him as their own.
  24. Every inch counts when flying long distances from my experience. Both seat width and pitch add to the comfort. Although, so far, none match the PE for Thai airlines if it even exists anymore.
  25. I finally was able to navigate Cathay Pacific's website which is a little tricky. Fare in Premium Economy appear to be about $2000+ RT from New York City to Bangkok. 38" pitch and 19"+ seat width is not too bad for that price. For me it would depend on the configuration but worth a try.
