Kawaii Boy gogo Bar on Pattayaland soi 1 closes.
kokopelli replied to williewillie's topic in Gay Pattaya
I did like Kawaii because the dancers did dance! And the prices are now attractive so will try once again. -
chillout, You seem to have a good plan for retirement.

Morocco ?

Bangkok to Pattaya = 150 km; Airport Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya = 120 km.

Just keep a copy of your passport and copy of the visa page/extension to stay with you. Some people get a wallet sized copy while others a full sized copy (better) and have it laminated.. The risk of losing a passport outweigh the risk of being asked to see it. This is especially true for short term visitors who may not have time to get a new passport from Embassy. Another option is to have a photo copy in your smart phone.

If you have it then spend, enjoy, spend enjoy

I pay 1200 Baht from airport to Pattaya plus a tip!

Then they lure in another customer and ignore him, and another customer and ignore him and on and on. If one is a regular to the Complex, they know what to expect and what to do. And not all bars are the same, one with a difference is Two Donna Bar, located on soi facing Venue, where the lads do pay attention to the customer. And likely other bars.
-
How do I know? Not just me but anyone I am with. Of course, if you see someone that catches your fancy you can call him over for a drink, etc. Unlike the lads in Sunee where they come to you.

I walk down the main soi in Jomtien Complex and can never decide which bar to sit it. And when I do make a choice it seems to be the wrong choice. So many bars and so many guys and when I do sit, I am ignored.

bucknaway, I also use a chromebook. I assume you can download the photos to it? In the downloads there is an edit feature (looks like a pencil). If you click on that, at the bottom of the page, there will be some edit features, one of which is a "resize" . Click on that. I recently used this feature to resize a photo to post on a forum.

Need to or want to? There is a difference. I don't need to retire in Thailand, I want to. I have far many friends here than back home. As for airfares, that all depends on one's financial status, cheap for one is expensive for another.

witty, better sashimi served raw (sushi is wrapped over rice); very tasty when served fresh.

Double Shot has recruited 8 new boys . great happy hour prices as well
kokopelli replied to a topic in Gay Thailand
Don't knock it till you try it, paborn. I try all the areas including Boyztown, Jomtien and Sunee and Sunee for me is the best. It is only a 5 minute or less motorbike ride from Boyztown and worth exploring -
I was basing my reply on some info I received some time ago and it is wrong. Jomtien Beach is one of the 7 sub areas of Pattaya. Quite likely there are no go-gos in Jomtien Complex due to some sort of rules, such as zoning, governing that activity.
-
Go-go bars are not permitted in Jomtien. Jomtien is a different political entity from Pattaya. It has nothing to do with the rules of the Complex.

A few years ago I was on a visit to USA at a gay bar. I was telling someone there about my adventures in Thailand with Thai boys. He hushed me up and said "don't talk about boys in here" ! I did my best to explain the meaning of boy in Thailand but to little avail. So any mention of boy in USA and you are a pedo. ! Likewise anyone reading this forum and not-in-the-know would think the same.
-
I agree with Terry that the use of boy is overdone in the gay community here in Thailand. And yes, better to use a term like guy. At least in writing of one's exploits on the forums! Even I cringe when I read of the word boy. But, there are many commonly used double words with "boy" in them such as flower boy, money boy, shoeshine boy, beach boy, lover boy, boy friend, go-go boy and on and on which are acceptable. An expat friend recently was on board an airliner and asked the flight attendant (female) to send the "boy" (a male flight attendant) to his seat. He immediately realized his mistake but too late.

It is somewhat odd that a few guys are shirtless but the majority are not.

Katherine Hoover composer of Kokopeli; Dies at age 80
kokopelli replied to kokopelli's topic in The Beer Bar
Thank you for the like this. -
Katherine Hoover, a composer and flutist who wrote not only for her instrument but also for strings, piano, woodwinds, full orchestra and voice, died on Friday in Manhattan. She was 80. Her best-known work, though, was probably “Kokopeli” (1990), a piece for flute that was inspired, as were a number of her other compositions, by American Indian music and culture. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/26/obituaries/katherine-hoover-dead.html?rref=collection%2Fsectioncollection%2Fobituaries&action=click&contentCollection=obituaries®i
