Yes, this is a jokes thread. Now then, did you hear the one about the Scotsmen and Jewish man having a magnificent meal.........................................................................................................................................................................................................!
-
Are you suggesting that the Scots are a separate race?
-
Well, there was a Russian Pope Kiril who did shake things up at the Vatican. But, alas, just a novel, The Shoes of the Fisherman, by Morris West.
-
No FH, a play at Ford's Theater.

He had the most beautiful face and the smoothest skin of any guy I’ve ever met. quote Fountainhall The smoothest skin of any guy you met? What's the rest of that story?
-
Spoiler alert, the last scene has Abe on his way to see ......... Really not sure how other nationalities would view Lincoln. There is one rather ribald joke he tells about our British cousins which involves another President, George Washington. Guess I have to see Argo now!!!
-
Can't agree with you FH; that scene with the car chasing after the 747 was a highlight for me. Very believable. Or am I thinking of another movie?
-
Apparently there is a great deal of controversy regarding the accuracy of Argo. The Canadians are not so pleased about how their role was not credited in this movie. And there was no dramatic ending with the Iranians chasing the getaway plane as it departed Iran. http://carpetbagger.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/02/22/former-canadian-ambassador-renews-criticism-of-argo/

I love the photo of the wolves(dogs) riding the motorbikes.

Sounds like something out of the next Dan Brown novel.

No coincidence, they were all Italiano.

Yes, Romeo lived, but our other roommate, Roberto, died on the eve of his graduation on the campus of a nearby women's college. He had just left his girlfriend with whom he was madly in love , fell asleep at the wheel , hit a tree and died . And then there was the handsome Lorenzo, but that is another story and we are well off topic.
-
You mean besides sitting around nude ? Well, he graduated from college, got married, had kids and was employed in the care and maintenance of WMDs. After graduation I never heard from him again for 40 years until a few months ago when he contacted me by email. Guess we were both surprised that we were still alive.
-
I was 13 yo when I fell in lust with Romeo; he was a senior and I a freshman in high school. By serendipity I became his roommate in college when I was a freshman and he a senior. I can tell you he carried a large dirk and was an accomplished swordsman. Yes, Thaiworthy, there was a Romeo and he was well named.
-
I think you meant 150 years, not 450 years.
-
My question is: how old is Romeo? Romeo was 19 yo, not yet a boy, not yet a man.
-
One must be careful what films they recommend. I recently viewed a coming of age film featuring a young girl in a relationship with an older guy; I was aghast to discover she was only 13 yo! Her name was Juliet.

My remonstrance to the advertorials is that they come in waves almost tsunami like. Kind like a certain gay forum where every other post has to do with the Israeli-Palestine-Jewish-Arab conflict. Or like that previous flood of photos of ladyboys I suppose since they are primarily Bangkok-centric they hold little interest to me although I did check some out and did enjoy the photos of the "facilities". Thus I will try to be more tolerant and accept them for what they are worth.
-
If I were not a regular poster and reader of this forum I would be turned off by these advertorials; to me they are a needless nuisance. If they were posted in a separate sub-forum then I could see their value.

Read an article today that stated the overheating of the battery on the 787 ANA flight that made an emergency landing was due to improper wiring. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/20/boeing-787-battery_n_2723966.html
