True, however "slut" is most often a derisive/scornful term. Although the term slut could equally apply to those of us who frequent go-go bars and other venues of debauchery and not just to the workers. At one time it meant slovenly, which, also fits many of the patrons found in Pattaya. “Why is thy lord so sluttish, I thee pray, And is of power better clothes to bey,” Geoffrey Chaucer
-
Is it a requirement for your tastes that the fem boys must also be sluts?
-
anddy, the expression you used, "no risk, no fun" may be closer to that of the original words of Chaucer, `Unhardy is unseely,' thus men sayth." The chap that uttered those words, John, did have his way with the Reeves' wife, He priketh harde and depe as he were mad.
-
Seems that you are making an issue out of what is a non-issue. "I will arise and take a chance, too, by my faith!' Nothing ventured, nothing gained, or so men say." Chaucer ca. 1390.

Lighten up GB! I spent 3,800 Baht in a go-go bar in one night on tips and drinks. Why not spend the same on some English lessons? Little to lose and a lot to gain.

Almost too good to be true which it is why it is not really true. By life expectancy at 70 yo that means only 50% make it to 85 and then only 50% make it from 85 to 93.

As for Jomtien and host bars, they don't seem to get active until the evening hours so you may not find anything early on. I did notice some of these bars were opening around 5 pm or so. Others may be able to give more accurate info. There is one bar Bamboo ? which is open in the afternoon as I recall.

Now that is a sight I would love to see. Was it the lambada?

Wizz, last night was in Boyztown at Panorama and I must say you and your attire would fit in nicely. Actually you would be a welcome addition to the parade of personage on the sois.

Always a good idea to weed-out the garden before it becomes overrun by noxious species. I do not know specifically those who may have been banned or warned but can make some guesses.

All depends. Some Thais are exclusive to one farang, although they may have other Thai bf, gf, lbfs. In other words they are not double-dipping since they could lose their primary source of income and security.

No that pool/snooker place is not a host bar! Yes there are many host/beer bars outside of Boyztown; Boyztown has the fewest of the three main gay areas in Pattaya. In Pattaya the greatest concentration of host/beer bars is in Jomtien Complex mostly on one soi. Easy to spot, there are lots of boys sitting/standing in front trying to entice you to sit and drink. These places are all open-air with chairs/tables on the street.. Even a blind man could find them or they would find him! Basically they are all the same so best to look for one with the most boys in front for the best selection. In Sunee Plaza there are also a number of host bars. On one Soi there Forester House, Ouds, Ting Tong Red (lots of boys) and Elephant Plaza Hotel Bar. A little further along there is Diamond Bar (few boys but very "friendly") . Across the way is Come In Bar (never had anyone approach me there) . Next to it is Blue Chili which is worth a try. Continuing along there are several more bars to check out. Finally there is Good Boys which is not a host bar in sense you can off them. All the hosting is done inside toward the rear of this establishment. Not as many host bars in Boyztown although Oscars across from Boys,Boys,Boys has many who are available. See website below for maps and descriptions and photos of all these venues. http://www.nickysgaypattaya.com/gay-pattaya/welcome-to-nickys-gay-pattaya/ Happy Hunting. PS- if you ask them to sit and chat then a drink and tip are requisite. About 100 Baht for a drink and same for a tip.
-
All depends on what you want? If you just want to chat and drink or what? If they are not required to be there then they are all off-able. Many are freelancers.
-
That may be easy or difficult. Often times one will sit next to you and strike up a conversation while other times you will be ignored. In Jomtien Complex/Pattaya it is often the case to be ignored once enticed to sit down and order a drink. It pays not to be shy and initiate contact with one of the hosts who is of interest to you. Some host bars are more friendly than others, meaning they may have their hands on you! I have seen some kissing sessions that were long and passionate. Are you in Bangkok or Pattaya or where?

Very slow night for Soi Twilight, but a pleasant surprise to find a keen, new twinky Lao boy on stage. But why do they have those curiously long finger nails on the first and second fingers of each hand? Anyone know why? Is it just fashion? Palmistry? Nose picking!
-
wizz, just why do you want to that particular attire on the streets? Is that what you wear at home? I have seen worse mostly because the men wearing such clothing were ugly or obese. Even the Thai go-go boys would not be seen in that attire on the streets.
-
Yes, that is a good idea. I did that with my bf and he did learn a reasonable amount. However after a year or so he was burnt out which was not surprising since his education in early years was mostly playing hooky (not hockey) so not a good student. His English reading skills are nil although he is able to read every text message on my phone which come from other boys so I have to delete them after reading.
-
If he asks to sit with you and you agree then a tip is in order. How much is room for debate depending on a number of factors. But, pardon the pun, if you stiff him that would be unethical.
-
I agree with you firecat. In my earlier post on "ethical" I was not referring to morals or legalities, as you pointed out, can or may be different. Just because one enters a go-go bar does not mean they check their ethics at the door. There are many ethical standards that do apply in even a go-go bar such as not tipping a boy who you asked to sit with you as one example. Another could be "hogging" all the boys for one's self know that one is depriving other customers of the need to satisfy their lust. Smoking is another un-ethical action knowing one is annoying others or even endangering their health. And, no, I am not some sort of prude, as some others may think, otherwise I would not be here in Thailand whoring like everyone else. Nonetheless, one man's ethics may be anathema to another. “quod ali cibus est aliis fuat acre venenum” Lucretius. 1st Century BC

Tonight in Sunee Plaza/Pattaya there was an older farang, maybe 70 , wearing a singlet and underpants; enough to gag a maggot. PS -think you are trolling wizz.
-
Well, that is what the Thai female prostitutes and ladyboys wear so you should blend right in.
-
ryanasia, I thought you would enjoy that.

Would then Bernie be the least of three evils?

I have the opposite view of those "opening" a bottle. As a result all the boys, such at Eros, cluster around them and their bottle and ignore the other customers. In addition, it is questionable whether getting the staff drunk is ethical? I remember the days when the smokers liked to pass out cigs to all the boys and turn the bars into gas chambers. Again, ethically irresponsible.
