Thanks for returning to the original post and I am aware I did go off topic as did some others. I really do think item #16 deserves to be drilled into all of our minds and hearts.

Another addition to the list of social skills came to my attention last night. "Don't sit in a go go bar with your pants down to your knees". Yes an older farang was doing that and trying to entice the boys to come over for a look and touch but no tip. Obviously he was demented but a regular in Sunee.

Since I fly Business Class I supposs that is comforting to some degree to be first in line at the "end" of the flight.

I do love these plane accident investigations and await the final results. One of my prized possesions is a wallet with the Concorde emblem, given to me by a friend who did fly the Concorde once from NYC. Oddly enough he had also been scheduled to fly TWA Flight 800 from NYC to Paris on July 17, 1996 which crashed shortly after take off. Luckily he missed this flight! Now that was a real investigation.

I personally do not have experience with Delta/NWA other than on-line. But others have gotten reward tickets/discount by asking the agent to look for flights on their partner airlines such as Korean Air. as also mentioned by Traveler Jim.

This should be an interesting investigation, no doubt everyone will point the finger elsewhere. As far as the plane being overloaded and in excess of it max take off weight, the fact is that the plane did take off and was airborne. From what I heard the pilots did cut power to two of the engines and the other two were insufficient to maintain airspeed. In all likelyhood it was "for the want of a nail, the ship was sunk" scenario. Has anyone flown in the Concorde?? I did tour the interior of one at a museum and it was quite confining. Like a commuter aircraft.

I did see a recent showing of the investigation of this crash. The strip of metal from the Continental aircraft was an exact match to the slash in the tire of the Concorde. It does seem that this was the cause of the crash. Continental was so slip shod that they had not replaced the missing strip of metal on the engine even weeks after the crash of the Concorde.

I do think that RichLB's list are not at all pet peeves but some good advice. Most likely all of us could benefit from paying attention to what he wrote. At one time I was guilty of cell phone use in public places but now cannot abide it anymore than I can abide smoking. I did find the responses to his post as both entertaining and enlightening. I don't think having restrictions on smoking makes anyone a second class citizen any more then the restrictions and laws that govern driving, recreational drug use, etc make people second class. If anything, consideration of the advice by RichLB and others, make all of us model citizens, or at least, social paragons.

Yes, good price but it is not Business Class! I am not sure I would take it even if free.

Yes, that sounds reasonable to me. The problem is getting the right Thai guy to go with you!

Sunee Plaza Bar Owner Arrested for Selling Under-Age Sex

One bar, owned at one time by the accused, was closed last night. -
Sunee Plaza Bar Owner Arrested for Selling Under-Age Sex

Furthermore, in the case of the Salem Witch Hunts, it started with finger pointing, hysteria, an official investigation, a trial, a conviction, sentences and even death penalties. But later an exoneration , there were not witches, just some greedy people who were playing the system for their own self interests. Hopefully that is not the case here. As far as ridding the Plaza of underage boys, I not so sure that closing some bars will accomplish that. Many of the street urchins seem not to be associated with bars but just ply their trade in the street. A cop on the beat would likely be more effective. Time will tell as more facts are made public. Maybe. -

A witch hunt in the sense that people are pointing fingers, jumping to conclusions and even convicting the farang in question without knowing the real facts. -

Sounds like some sort of witch hunt and the witches are foreigners? -
What is the legal age of consent in Thailand? = 18 A second question it easier: if I invite a boy at my side in a gogo bar, what is the tip I use to give him? = 100 Baht tip +1 drink (100 - 150 Baht)

Just heard from two other farang who trusted those they knew and then were blantly robbed. But it is not just Thais. Even in my family there are those who cannot be trusted around money. Mostly it is drug related. Their cravings overwhelm their reason.

I heard that the new owner of 777 is the owner of Number One Bar in Day Night Plaza. Heard this today from a former employee at Number One.

Yes, taylorsquare, I think Boyztown is the best place for you. As for casting judgement that is exactly what you are trying to do with your innuendo of who is "gay" and who is not gay. I believe that GB clearly defined what is meant by gay.

Even though I am in Thailand for months at a time, my income is on a monthly basis from separates sources in the US. I really don't have a big pot of money to transfer to my Bangkok Bank account prior to my trips. So I live from "paycheck" to "paycheck" and thus cannot do what you suggest. I suppose if I were living here full time I could arrange deposits to Bangkok Bank in NYC but that is not the case.

I also went to Nice Boys the past two nights but did not see any of questionable age. As far as average looking Issan boys who need a good meal, I suppose that is one man's opinion. There was one really skinny one but otherwise all looked ok to me.

Thanks for the info GB. There was some sort of incomprehensible post by LMTU on another forum that left this reader totally confused. It had to do with the new manager at Manhattans but beyond that, it made no sense.

As the saying goes, ronnie4you, "seek and ye shall find". Go to Pattaya and check out all the bars. One night in Boyztown and one night in Sunee and then maybe Jomtien, and you will find what you are looking for. Likes and dislikes are so personal that no one can really advise you of what is best for you. Enjoy the hunt.

It used to be embarrassing in the upper lounge when voyeurs(farang without a Thai guy) would leer at the customers engaged with their favorite boy. Now, that the 150 Baht fee is in effect, perhaps this will keep the cheap creeps down below. A 200 Baht tip would be too low for most of what transpires in the upper lounge. The upper lounge is more for the high rollers, you could say.
