  1. What is the source of your statistics?
  2. I did learn a lot from this thread since, someday, I hope to get a retirement visa. The info from GB was quite concise and also I was unaware of the the problems converting a Tourist Visa to an O visa as mentioned by Bob.

A Lifebuoy beats a Lifeboat anytime.

Better jump with a lifebuoy and bugger him.

    Need help..

Yes, many quiet bars and otherwise near the beach including massage house and host bar(boys) and lots of restaurants. Just no go-go bars but it is only a short ride to Sunee or Boyztown. To get to airport you can take a bus but a taxi/rental is not that expensive. 1200 Baht = $40 USD. Don't know about hotels but for only one week why worry?

I post a serious cause for the sinking of the Costa Concordia and you guys makes jokes. What is this forum coming to?

augieee; my advice is quite different from some of the others. Get out of Bangkok after one day of visiting the Grand Palace and go to Pattaya. Enjoy the beach, bars and boys. Make the most of your one week visit. As I tell my friends, you don't go to Thailand to visit the Wats/Temples.

    Need help..

augieee; several posters asked for additional info so they can answer your questions and you ask another question.

Perhaps the skipper had reason to steer close to the beach? You would think a sea captain would know about Sirens and the danger they impose upon sailors and ships.
  10. This site is a multipurpose site combining the commercial/business aspect with the message board aspect. There seems no reason that it cannot be successful in both ventures. Other gay forums such as Sawatdee and Gay TingTong also include commercial ads to help fund them. Baht-Stop and Gaybuttonthai appear to be free of commercial interests.
  11. Although I did not respond to your post on the waterfall, I did put it on my list of things to do while in Thailand. So, yes, people do lurk, look and like.
  12. PattayaMale; All those photos of members which are posted on this forum are looking for a date!
  13. Without posters providing info there would be no lurkers. In the, sense that success breeds success, the more posters leads to more lurkers who then become potential posters. Although not being a board owner, I would assume an increase in membership and posters would be gratifying. For me I do appreciate the info provided on the various forums but also enjoy the interaction among the various posters regarding opinions and thoughts and even, on occasion, the food fights which can be entertaining unless they take a nasty turn.
  14. Have any of you see this film? Not sure if it is being shown in Thailand. All of the reviews I have read are very positive and recommend it. I did see it and was disappointed. For me it was emotional silliness. Although the young studs were cute and I don't mean the horses. Any comments? Any trying to attach two promotional posters, 5555
  15. Fact is I am an expert on the Big Bang Theory. I watch it every night on TV. For those of you not familiar with this show, it is a sitcom in the USA and quite funny exploring the exploits of four post-graduate physicists who are roommates. It reminds me of my days at the university. For a more serious presentation of the Big Bang, etc, you can read "The Fabric of the Cosmos" available at Amazon.com
  16. No one knows yet what was prior to the big bang. There may have been something but that has not been determined. There may well have been and still are other universes either the same or far different then the one we live in. An interesting aside, the Big Bang was first postulated by a Jesuit priest, George Lemaitre, a Belgian in 1931. The name itself came from a scientist, Fred Hoyle, who used "big bang" in a sarcastic manner to deride LeMaitre's theory. I would like to have included a mathematical explanation of the big bang but the necessary scientific notation is not included on my keyboard. Sorry.
  17. Where did I say this board was spruced up? I said other forums have made changes that improved their appearance. I said forums get dated and need some sprucing up to make them more attractive. Also said I appreciated the efforts of the admins to make improvements. Better a kiss on the cheek then a kick in the balls. Previous post was made using Chrome; current post made using Firefox. Have had no issues viewing the forum, logging in, or sending PMs. But have not tired all the features, just the ones I commonly use.
  18. So far I have had no problems accessing this forum or using the features. So appreciate the efforts of the admins to make improvements. I noticed on some other gay forums there have been "make overs" which did enhance the overall appearance. After a few years the forums have a dated appearance which can use a sprucing up. As in all things the more attractive the presentation the more it is enjoyed or watched. Also mentioned in another post I have been using Chrome.

Using Chrome and logging in from USA with no problems.
  20. It is not unreasonable that some people believe man was created 6000 years ago if you consider that written history started just about 6000 years ago. Of course in modern times we do know that man, as we know him today, dates back 50,000 years and his ancestor back 200,000 years and before that.....? And as for God creating man in his image well all I can say is....
  21. [quote name='fountainhall' This trip I am coming back to BKK on the evening of the 19th. I expect the flight and the airport to be packed! Don't forget the Champagne! Seriously how many bottles of wine do you bring through customs? The max is supposed to be l liter although I usually try to bring two bottles @750ml. What happens if one is questioned? Sometimes I notice that Customs checks some passengers, usually Asians with big loads of luggage.
  22. Cracks on the wings surfaces? Next time you fly on an A380 get a window seat and take a look, if you dare! They may not be stress cracks.
  23. I recall a Lousy Bar further down Soi VC/Soi 17; could they be related?
  24. There is again a similar post on that other forum regarding the moral responsibilities of a farang toward a Thai. The suggestion was the farang did not do enough to help his bf who was HIV+ and died. The post is murky in that the relationship between the Thai and farang is not defined nor is the participation of the farang regarding the boy's drug use or HIV infection.
