  1. There are currently around 30 million visitors, TAT aims for 35 million/yr, the biggest part in % are now mainland Chinese-used to be Malays for short (weekend) trips. My 1st visit was 88/89, when it was Visit Thailand year and they aimed for 5 million and got much more as that. Tipical in the program for those Chinese (they are still near all on grouptours) are visits to some extablishments, str8 or maybe even gay, that show some forbidden fruits. Its also daft clear they drive up the prices there easily (as they have also done with most other things in ChMai). Negative news in the Chinese press about Thailand (accidents or also perceived discrimination) sends their nrs. down in a few days. I've given up on telling that just going to the Thai places, a plenty in suburban BKK, the whole thing can be had for 1500, and there are also a few who report that via apps it even can get lower. In touristy areas you pay tourist-prices. Up to you if you want to leave that comfort zone.
  2. Hi Dan, no, not with this short info. And likely you mean BTS and not the sluggy old-fashioned real trains of SRT-that run upcountry. BTS stops by 24.00-after that its taximeter (not expensive, IF you know how to handle them). Forget any hoStel-thats dorm beds, expensive for what you get (in old-style Thai guesthouses rooms cost less as hoStelbeds-but they do NOT do booking and all that-just walk in) and of course, needless to say, no guests allowed in. Many do not even take any Thai in as guest (nor would any normal travelling Thai go there) From what I've seen for AirB&B, they are not cheap at all in BKk-compared to the usual lower budget Thai hotels. But of course they may offer more freedom to bring in guests. There is also ebab and misterbandb for gay-aimed. Decide if playing gay is the main part of your stay or the usual-for-1st-timers touristy part with some nice evenings out. I assume you are not white caucasian-decide if its importt to stay with your group mostly (food!) or not. Think about budget (room only). AND think about season-main season (end of dec.) may make prices rise astronomically or all cheapos sold out. The usual areas that most other posters here would rec are around Silom (several basic HTLs for about 1000-1200 bt/N), with BTS at the door-like the Nantra, with also many of the usual 1st time gay places. Str8s also like the lower sukhumvit side-sois, around Nana. Around that infamous Khaosarn area =noisy, mostly young bekpekkers, masses of cheap streetfood, NO BTS nearby, you can find decent but basic AC-rooms from 600 bt/N-and late at n8 many willing katoeys too. I assume you are young-check a site like queerintheworld.com or nomadicboys.com and search for BKK tips. Really interesting to see how much they differ from the usual listings for most posters (who tend to be older) on this forum. And have a nice stay!
  3. When I am in BKk I get there at least 1/week and must confirm what der christian writes above. There is a lively and very cheap nightmarket nearby-opens at dusk, good for food and everyday items, nothing fancy. Also there used to be a rather lively dance/entertainment section at the end of RKH rd near Lamsalee crossing (other side as stadion), this has more or less going down the drains, but now ICK is back-or at least in name there. No idea of how busy it is or if still open-or maybe only weekends. 10.000s of horny Thai (+other) students living in that area, so there must be scope.
  4. aduh ya, terimah kasa, lah. Suka banyak reportasi anda. And AirAsia makes it possible-all the time.

    Mexico

Only reading the other forum-branches now. As I am just clearing out my bookchests etc. I re-found a (yes, thats old-fashioned) book about it all, from before 2000. In short it said the boys are everywhere and easy to find. Be careful-many stories about theft. MEX-DF (=distrito federal=capital city) has a very lively and quite large gay scene, with shows, sauna and all. Acapulco is said to be the best for beachside, though lately also has a big rep for crime. Having been there also around 2000 I do remember this was indeed the case, with some planning-at that time. I guess here also the apps and sites have taken over. Being just back from a short trip to Spain (BCN) there is also the nasty habit of all things happening late at night or the wee small hrs-bars open by 23.00, shows are at 1/2.00 am etc. Dont like that at all. BTW-if youre still contemplating and not booked yet- again I heard fantastic reports about Colombia, a ,little further south and also very Spanish/latino. Can at least confirm that the contacts I had with Colombian lads in Espana made me long for more!
  6. agree with OZ. BTW: KOH is the usual Thai prefix for island. Its Koh Samui, the largest and on the east side. Gay scene minimal and very seasonal and changing all the time. Seems mostly Thai from other parts working there in normal hotel-jobs doing some ''overtime''. Phuket as such overrun with mainland Chinese and Korean holidaymooners. The rather large and also rather uninspring town in the far south Haad Yai (=big beach, but there is no beach) also has a fairly big gay-for-pay scene, mostly aiming visiting Malays. Travel between these places can be very time-consuming or hair-raising swift in cramped minivans. BTW-as Phuket is west and Samui east of the peninsula, the monsoonpattern tends to be just opposite-rain vs dry. Best overall site for uptodate current listings is travelgayasia.com then search.
  7. For normal Thai the south is all south of BKK. For touristy purposes places like Krabi, Phuket, Koh Samui/Tao/Pangnga etc. belong to that. Beyond HYai its mostly called far south. The struggle is more against all personifications of the Thai govmt. Alas, its bad enpough, but teachers and the like tend to come from far away there. It was never really aimed at westerners, but it could be the ''wrong place, wrong time''. However, it seems that the bomb-planting etc has toned down the last 2 yrs-they have caught a few insurgents and the Malays (who offered shelter to them) are now also cooperating. The area is also notorious as temporary shelter for Rohingya etc. (all muslim) on the move to Malaysia. These warnings usually stay on for years. I've travelled twice along it, from HYai to Malay border north-east toward Kota Baru, the 2nd time was notably much more safety influenced by Thai military everywhere etc. HYai has enough to please people like us in transit for a day or 2. But the bonus_ one of the hottest guys I've ever had the pleasure to meet was a dead-poor and really gay guy (in western sense) from Pattani, who was delighted that after some try-out we could talk slowly in what I call bahasa and he yawi=the local dialect. Was completely beyond what he believed to be possible.
  8. just read this, nice to see such an extensive actual report. As for day 1/msg: most likely he asked if you would like ''special'', which is what all Khmer boys use for more. though in most places then much more as there can be expected. Last year the rate for that was still mostly 20US$ (roughly little less 700 THB) it seems all Angkor-admission cards are also valid from 17/18.oo or so the day before.
  9. The park itself closes sharp at 21.00. Warnings and guards start pushing people out by 20.50. One of the cadet-training institutions of the Thai army is just opposite, as is Wat Pho. There is also a fitness area just beside main entry. Indeed-most of the guys (just read another thread which suggested to stop using the word BOY) stand along the canal, also -when its busy-in side streets beside Wat Pho. Until 3-4 years ago there was a lively night-market along the side of the canal toward Sanam Luang, spilling out (as all Thai markets tend to do after some time) on the holy grounds. Some stalls also sold naughty DVDs (20 bt/piece and labelled poh) and ditto underwear. So you could first look at what to do later on. A station of the extension of the MRT=rot faay fah taay din is already there and due to open late '19. Also Museum Siam-open again and free for any senior >60. BTW: the other side of that same road still has and was/is famous for elderly Thai ladies offering exactly the same for str8-also going price haa roi. There are several short-time HTLs just 1 street further on, most also with sitting and expecting ladies in front, but indeed, somehow most of the guys seemed to prefer a HTL further on in Samsen or Thonburi. And just around the corner was famous for katoeys, which most likely was-a very long time ago-the starting point of it all. Some in groups who can be even more pesky as in Soi Nana or along Pattaya beach. And for khun lung GB: yes, the ''going rate'' there is still 500 for ''everything'', though i guess that by now one would need some persuasion as for what can be done for that note. Not very much out of the range that many of the mostly Thai m2m massageshops in suburbia also stipulate (for less as every-thing though). (PS; one also does not need to pay for taxi/tuk back to working space-most likely he has an accord with the driver about that).
  10. Then you'' ll also have to ban quite a few of those service-workers, who's genuine Thai nickname is BOY! Though Bank and Beer is also very normal. However, John and Dick are rarely if ever heard of. As for terry4: yes, as this was the name the master called or spoke to the slaves on the plantations. Though its (AFAIK) pretty much only so in the USA/North-America.
  11. Once-and thats by now a long time ago, I had a boy who was so un-experienced, that after a while I indeed asked him this and showed him a little of the things I like. That was out of pure boredom as it was snowwhite clear by then it was a complete disaster. To reassure you: it was 1 out of more as 200 sessions in total. Happily it was also long before all those high min-tips were in force. In general-in really suburban Thai places you can expect for the 1000 ALL-he will do/expects to have to do anything, to you, not necessarily reverse. Need to bargain/make it clear what/how, as far as my own exp. goes, is only in tipical westerner-aimed places. In fact it can happen that the whole treatment goes without any word spoken... And sometimes they make it so dark, that its nearly similar to what can pass in a darkroom.
  12. But again for BKK and for the gay/tourist ghetto around Silom: no, no and no. This is a thing that Thai despise and have fearful ideas full of angst for. Boys wont do it for even 5 or 10 x the ''going'' rate. And even if they would-they would not know how to handle it at all.
  13. Warning for airB&B in TH: some (I repeat some= NOT all) Thai towns are also clamping down on it, as they think this conflicts the law on guesthouses/hotels etc-the minimum stay in B&B should be at least 30 days/1 month. Notably so in ChiangMai (which was overwhelmed by mainland Chines ecoming overland). Its quite possible other towns may also start a clampdown. I also feel (but its by now quite some time i looked at it for TH) that the offers in Th are quite pricey-most seem to be expats/farang who rent out whilst they are away or have their bought condo, where they only stay a few monthes. Its known that large condo/apartmt buildings in Pattaya take over the rentals for them (at a fee of course). And; why does noone mention this: there is supposed to be a gay style AirB&B named EBAB. it had quite a few offers in BKk when I last checked. But low-cost HTLs are so many and so readily available (many do not even appear on any booking type www) about anywhere in TH, that for me its the best choice. Haggling about HTLK prices is often (still) mentioned, but will-if at all-only work for long time in the slack season and out of the tipical touristy areas.
  14. Dont bother to go to KhaoSarn just for massage-useless. You can get (normal, Thai etc.) massage everywhere/anywhere, incl. MBK. Plus that with BKK-traffic late pm its horrendous-though there is also a clutterfree boat along the utmost dirty Klong Saen Saep canal-not adjacent, but fairly close to both KSR and MBK. (hint: as you are posting on this site: a fairly new m2m+more massage has set up pretty close to MBK_near Airportlink/BTS stop further on, name is ganymede-spa), gets good reviews. The generous BMA=Bangkok city administration has now also KhaoSarn cleared of those pesky (or so they think) street vendors, whcih was softened untill ''only after 16/17.00'' after numerous protests. In general BKK is pretty short on real touristy sights-most regulars come for shopping or the other well-known extra's. In weekends there are several, mostly aiming local Thais, but all are quite far out of centre-town (like floating markets, temple fairs and the like). There used to be a site listing a lot of these, but this has gone off. IF you are fit and able and in to it)dont try on rainy days) do a guided cycle-tour, there are several and they also start from all touristy areas.
  15. NO, I have not, nor have 99,99% of Thai (my guess)-that is, as always, if you use your western concepts, which usually dont work at all here in TH. The best known and probably most frequently in use is the military training for those young real Thai who had the bad luck of taking the wrong colour of ball out of the sack. Sorry-as said, only open for real identified Thai, not even those with just pink cards. Summercamps for THai matayom (=high-school) students are common, but in the heat of the hottest time of year and the general tendency of Thai, doing strange'fit''ness exercise is out of the question. Sitting behind their smartfone in AC-comfort would be more fitting for their lifestyle, incl. drinking too much sugary fruit-imitation drinks. What is rife and available in any larger town are the ''exercise/fitness (speak: fhit-neht) rooms'', esp. those with long-time membership at grave discounts, touted by ms. beautiful. Think of the former California WOW (gone broke) etc-they are very well known as hot dating spots. alt to @1: as said here so often, those new-time fone-apps.
  16. This is very much later, but nonetheless: yes, even high-end places charge much less. NOTE: this is a specific Thai fenomenon that most of you dont know/tend to overlook: they are (presumably) MODELs, which only means they have been pictured in some mag (not just as staff-but as model-shoot, it may even be a girlie-mag) or maybe-this rises the price even more- have been on TV, or won a contect. It simply works the way, that this rises prices a lot. If this is reflected in what they offer in service: IMHO not, the well-known V-place attitude. But of course-anyone can have other opinions.
  17. UPdate As anyone knows, things in BKk change by the minute, so inevitably also some items of this excellent listing. Amnd by posting get it back on top. CLOSED are now: DM (as reported on travelgayasia) Peak/Seed (this moo baan alone would not allow to have it there for longer as a few weeks) Somewhere it says that @PInklao is in DonMuang-it is not, its in khet Bang Plat, in streets around the now old Sai Thai=Soputhern Bus Terminal. This got new life when all the vans to west and south were moved by BMA to there, it also has a kind of night-market and since a few weeks another new gay sauna, G-Spot. Newly opene: Ganymede, got its own post On ThaiMassageboy, brand new: My Way (well, seems more like a reincarnation from another shop, far away from centre, a side soi of the watermains road MG, in RamKamHaeng soi 36/1, might possibly be a new place for that Peak/Seed NopNapa, 61/223/5 along Ram IX rd, can someone check this is the old DM perhaps or not? 69 club, new name for former LookMe, alog PongPetch market off NgamWongWan, east of the MALL and canal, probably the dirtiest/unkempt m2m shop I've ever been into. Entry looks like an old-style brothel, with red velvet cushions, a few tiny dogs, boys to choose from a tablet, but will be presented real life if asked TGA also mentions Men Care along Ram VIII rd, nr 1258, which is just west of that new swan-look-a-like bridge just north of the infamous KhaoSarn area also Bang Plad (Pinklao area). Hi-Club still seems to be going on every now and then-posts on Thai sites if someone available.....
  18. IKEA-2 is in WestGATE shopping centre and just there are even 2 bigC...-s, probably to fill that gate up. Thats because one is an old Carrfour. Also lots of Burmese signs over there. And also an abandoned old-style deprtmt store named BigKING, so there must be some interest there! Near a giant 3-way crossing of western ringrd and road from town, near end of new purple MRT-line. Sadly among the closures is also HI-Club, the carry-on of former 88 along Rewadee, very aptly ran by a guy named Tata. Every now and then Tata still seems to advertise on gboysiam69 or some other Thai site, but its no more just come and see-prior appointmt only.
  19. BKK still has heaps of those places (mostly called shops), but not so much in the touristy areas. F.e. RamKamHaeng-where the largest uni has, still has sois full of them- going rate there is 10 bt/hr. Some even offer flat-rate for overnight for 50 or 60 bt. What der christian has clearly described is, that even those having more on offer wont be recognisable as such- the ground floor looks like an ord. such shop, but there may be more upstairs or behind, those wanting that know a kind of password for it. I know of several that have other extra interest-gambling (as such striclt forbidden in TH). But Iám afraid I DK about current such places offering more in the field of our common interest-If anyone knows its again/must be still der christian.

    island with boys

Pattaya is no island, though it can pretty well be considered an sex-for-rent island in the sea of boredom around. Phuket is indeed about the only real one (well there is a dam/bridge) with enough gay scene to warrant to go. The last few years it is said to be overrun with holkidaying Aseans-Koreans and mainland Chinese. Prices are also much higher and tourist-inflated as rest of Thailand. The about only other island perhaps/maybe worth considering is Samui (about due east of the narrow half-isle that is Thailand there), but DO look after wheather-its horrible in the wet. Seems there is no real established gay scene there, listings like on travelgayasia, mention a few, but they open/close in a whim. ''workers'' seem mostly young guys working in the many hotels etc doing some after-hours extra earnings. But what the heck makes it worth to have to go to an island? It only means more difficult ways to get there and more limited provisions of all kinds. And when you sit on a beach-chair, you really wont notice the difference between mainland and island.

    Taipei, Taiwan

the best listings are likely on travelgayasia.com 2.there is a nice and by now years-long blog of a German guy, living in BKK/Thailand who has now decided to go to live in Taipei instead for better luck with guys. See this on christianpfc.blogspot.nl, there is a very recent blog about his ventures in Taipei for a few weeks. Seems the non-commercial availability is pretty good and its also about the (besides BKK) only big city in Asia that has a lively and big christopher day/Gay pride day/corso. There are sauna's, hot spring bathes (just out of town) and said to have lots of success with the usual and other apps. Was there some 12/15 yrs ago on a short-stopover, around 1/1, pretty cold then, no other memories.
  22. The very best place providing that is not a bar as such, but a disco with loud music and called DJ_station, in the narrow short soi beside Robinson/Silom. Firm chance on free too. The tipical gogo-s that vinapu mentions are mostly staffed with slightly older ''real men'' as the Thai call them, but may-or perhaps may-have some other types depending on who has turned up that day for ''work''.
  23. Many have closed. It would have been helpful to tell whereabout in NTB. Also: there is some 2 yrs the new inthesky MRT line, now connects easy with underthegroundMRT, so easy to go to BKK proper. IND (outside sign still says I-spa) is in the closed-off compound beside the Robinson shop-centre, advertises on ThaiMassageBoy. Does not really seem to have more permanent staff. There is also the dirtiest and most unkempt M2M-msg I've ever been into, forgot its new name, used to be LookMe, near market opp. Tesco/MALL along Ngam W-W rd.-and very nearby there is 1 sauna: There are still sauna's, in quite other part of town, in fact I doubt if that is NTB or BKK-or on border. Crhistian reported on it, plus there is another one in soi Ruadee. West of river I dk of any remaining places. but hey., the new IKEA-2 in BKK has now opened there!
  24. Went to the 9-which ws in that old HTL when the what is now Bridge guys had taken it over and was then happily surprised. Since then it seems hit and miss and both PFC and eternity are right-it can happen without any hint at before. There must be some blog/review about various msg-shops around Sapan kwai (mostly in the alleys toward that 69 sauna), but its likey now quite old. Again: adapt to modern times and use apps/sites
  25. apps, sites etc. IF you can go along with reading Thai: gboysiam69.com though for quite some time I had a long-time friend who in that time turned into 40 and sold himself still as being 20/22-which indeed was what he looked like. I always ask to see their ID if anything more as ST happens.
