Having now also been there; its MITR town, which means friendship in Thai. Owned as was the former wet market and foodcourt by CHULA uni opposite. Chula also owns much of Siam centre and thus makes pretty money. It is always among TH 3 best uniś, if not the best in some subjects (with Thammasat and Kasert). Fairly unique to normal Thai customs many of its students are even eager to study and curious to discover new things. Thus no surprise that 99% of them are Chinese, though due to their rich income they also give grants to poor Thai students who pass the heavy exams. There are 2 floors of food outlets: below ground connects to MRT/BEM and has loads of he usual chains, just like T21 on Asoke and a BigC food-only supermarket. Sadly no Jeffer or so. 4th floor has more outlets and a Thai stye foodcrt, where many of the old stalls have gotten new squeaky clean and well-organised stands. You pay by card, which only last 1 day!! UNcommon is that there are large tables to share with strangers and that anyone even brings back his tablet to stands-as you would do in IKEA or McDo. Lots of variety and among the costliest items for 100 bt is beef penis soup. I did not try but went for khao moo daeng. There is no free drink water,as is the case with BigC or Tesco. The usual 7 is on ground floor/backside and is also heavy on fresh and microwave food and here are even some seats/tables for that across. Throughout is good strong free WiFi thus loads of students and others sit there to use that. Strange for a uni-owned centre is that there was not a single book/printed reading matter outlet. But then Chula itself has of course a large bookshop just 200 mtr away. Part of this complek is open 24 hrs. You can connect via a concrete metro-lookalike round tube to the other side and MRT. This is slightly older Chamchuree complek with a tesco on below ground and also yet another foodcourt with higher prices-from 60 bt for most. Also loads of Chula-students there. Nearly forgotten and not that friendly to penny pinching farang: a large covered but openair foodcourt is in the soi just beyond Golden Cock and former new old Barbiery buidling, no signs, no prices advertised-rhis is mostly a sign that you will be cheated in TH and as can be expected the usual foodplace for loads of bargirls and the odd barboy too. And the old stalls-evenings along Lumpini park are also still there.

ARENA states to open by 14.00, so there will not be that many customers then yet. Last week there were some 30+ when I came around 16.30 and apparently I was also 1st to come then. It is a common feature of many of those m2m msg shops that the so prized BTC (big thai cock, BBC is more commonly known) is hung from not the prettiest guys. You might even conclude the opposite too. But then Thai style such shops many of the workers ahev normal daytime jobs and come to the shop after 20.00.

Bangkok Arts&Cultural Centre is that snail-lookalike building on Patumwan corner, with MBK and SIAM at other sides, near BTS Siam. From a week or so ago till 1/3 it has a LGBT-inspired exhibition by various artists from ASEAN. Admission is free, but with any bags you have to use a locker for it for 10 bt. Open daily, except monday from 10-20.00. Have not been there to look yet, but will likely pas by next week or so. If youre havig to time to spare daytime and want to get out of silom area. site: en.bacc.or.th

A HOST bar is a gay bar that has (some of its) staff for rent (called off, or pay barfine). They may be waiters or not. In Pattaya pretty common and called bar beer. This however has never been the practice on soi 4, though many a freelancer used to hang out there. Comes to the same-you have a temporary willing BF, but there is no barfine/off to be paid to bar. If those hosts are also dancing, or pretending to, its usually called aGOGO. This is/was the most common format in Silom/around Patpong bars. Thai style bars sometimes have friendly guys for rent as company during your stay in the bar, pay by the minute! Quite uncommon though for usual gay bars and for farang. Much more common for str8 ladies and also in Japan. Much more common in Thai bars is the KaraOK concept, not really beoved by farang. As usual about all these concepts are imitations of how the much larger str8 bars work and ofte were initiated in Japan.

18 y/o going to Bangkok tomorrow. Need some advice.

KSR is not just that road but a every week wider area around where also about every day new Hotels/guesthouses/hoStels open en some also close or finally get renovate. Most of them in fact -also in private rooms, do NOT allow Thai visitors, even sometimes barring neatly married farang-Thai couples. But the days it was all dirt cheap sweaty prison-cell type rooms is long gone, there are dozens of swish, stylish and not so cheap anymore places with room prices between 1/2000 and some even higher. IHoStel/dorm rooms are also only there since few yrs apparently as young psns seem to think that should be cheap-many are not and cost more per bed as a single room in an old-style guesthse. In fact there also used to be a bit hidden but fairly extensive gay scene-all those 10.000s of workers there are also after some R&R after their very long duties have been done for work. Dont bother about finding it-they will find you. But you have competition from also a few 1000 of young farangy girls also out on the prowl to try out some Thai guys. To me it completely escapes what a young person has to do arond Silom daytime, except getting out on the BTS or bus 15. Plus that the food scene is grave there and near unaccessible for cheapo Thai grabs for farang. However, I just perused soi 2 this afternoon and did as ..also states the sign that ID is checked and MIn age 20 and that there is now also a hoStel above paradise on floor 6-I assume if you stay there they have to let you pass by. -
Recommended late night massage near Lat Krabang or Suvarnabhumi Airport?
pong replied to eternityz's topic in Gay Thailand
For anyone with same problem since: For most of the guys from shops thats also a very far way out of town. Cannot think of any closeby-those that were have been closed after succesfull drugraids some time ago (8 1/2 along Sri Nakarin) Best bet is likely to take ARL to end and walk over to Ganymede, but it may also close by 23.00, come back by taximeter, trains all stop from 24.00 start from begin for last ride. -
But also at least 4 7s have closed without replacement. The newest are far better though-larger, more variety esp. in fresh food, and you can sit at a counter to eat inside. They even have learnt that farang dont want automatic bags around everything. Now since 5/12 also BTS further extended to Kasert and MRT as trial on the western ring toward PATA.

Interesting, never seen like this before posted. Have been to some 12 or so saunaś here in BKK, but that was some time ago-many have since closed and this city anyway has an overdose of them so that in many there are very few visitors at same time. I cannot ever recall to have seen such devices in a Thai sauna, but have seen them in Berlin etc. But I remember once in a far away place that there were some portals to look @ gay poh and there were some kind of small windows to open/close at will. Cannot remember if that was like ´glory hole´ What I do recall however is that apparently they do like to be voyeurs to the extent they climb on chairs or whatever there is to peep over the walls when a couple is busy- cabins are often open above to allow the air to circulate-putting AC in any of them is too costly. As always der Christian is likely best informed about this. Or try the other near dead forum on cruisingfors...x.

Well yes, barboys being married to bargirls (pretty common) are often too exhausted to please the wife as should. And for every service there is a way out here in TH. Elite housewifes also have too much money to spend. Several barboys have been thrown out of such places as they did not please enough, apparently in the eyes of the TH gay work pays less and is 2nd rate compared to that. The old edtions of the TMOT handbooks (remember, when there was not even www listings) also mentioned some of those bars, in Suriwong, with the caveat that not every male customer there would be accepted, cetrainly not if they appeared too much active/top.
-
spending figures: of course these are average for monies exchanged in THB divided up total sum of visitors INDians for a vey large part coem for massive money-throwing marriage parties for which Phuket is favoured. The host needs to provide at least 4 giant meals/day for each of the 10s/rather 100s of guests Chinese BUY things-just look at those dutyfree emporia to sell brandmarks still unavailable over there to their fellow mainland countrymen so to offset the cost of travel. F.e. in EUR they tend to spend 10-12x as much on that shoppping as on daily expense for stay+food+travel. Thats all way out of the gay scene of course. But about any tourisry publication and in fact even here the BKK-post last week explained it all.

prices or rather the expected tips do vary-a lot-with the places mentioned. The standard going rate for Thai in Thai places is 1000 for really full and nice service. Do not expect that to be true in the places mentioned. And word of caution for some: by now some of the mentioned populair places like ML=Moonlight, get flocked in by Chinese girls who think its a part of their long time dreamt of Thai trip.Andmany of the working guys there also seem this is far more attractive! Best and uptodate site for general listings is travelgayasia. then find TH/Bangkok. There are loads of sites that google will spew out, but most are really outdated.

Berlin, closest by and cheaper to stay and since many a year well known anywhere in East-Eur due to history.
-
Actually Köln has Germanes 2nd biggest gay scene after Berlin, nearly equalling it. here is a very populair Christopher Street parade (the german word for coming our day) and there is even a queer-day pass for the transit system, besides giving free rides (on that-tram, metro, buses) also various discounts on gay places. Berlin has it also. But yes, for houses full of willing MBs, DUS is closest by. se gay-or planetromeo for HUNQZ is best in Germany for finding those guys for good times.

and penny-pinchers; anyone from 60+ can get 50% DIScount on MRT-fares by just showing any ID at the booth and buy token there. Foodcourts come 13 in the dozen anywhere in BKK, but agreed, in the Silom area there are actually not that many-afte the one of top floor of old Robinson dept. store on corner ram IV closed.

Hi, thats exactly it, many Thai have 2+ or dozens of LINE-accounts, for any purpose, nearly as handy/known as fb. Is it easy to keep a LINE on a non-Thai nr? (I am pretty dreadful at such things that are for others so easy). or do you keep a once acquired and certified Thai nr for it? But re or. subject: keeping updated for the rather small Thai (and Pattters) tourist-area (or ghetto) is dead-easy, also on here, but Iám mainly interested in the Thai much bigger out of that nr of places and that is increasingly difficult. REven der christian seems to have given up on keeping on the current for ex. with sauna's and other places-he just occasionally stumbles on them anymore.
-
reason why the guy in ML was not interested ,might be that he already had promises for another (better paying and/or female) customer. Thats the Thai (JPNese, Chinese) way of making this subtle by quoting way too high amounts).
-
is there since years, there also used to be more mag-style info and Thai magazines before. Note: the advertisers are real and do exist and are most likely open, but many of the listed other places (NON-advertising) can be closed, moved, changed name or whatever. These are mostly former advertsiers who stopped the contract but still get listed. The site travelgayasia tends to be more uptodate, but also omits quite a few. other of the dozens of ''gay-listing'' sites may still hold listings that are from before 2000.

dont expect ANYthing at 10.00 mornings in about any place. Some of the out-of-cnetre Thai places have some of their staff also living there (I really cannot say if thats the case for any of the places mentioned here-not been there for years) and then they advertise with ''24 hrs''. In effect that means a guy sleeping there has to be woken up (probably you first have to also wake up cashier/reception etc.)-now just think of what that will mean for your ''treatment''. About all of the normal 10.000s of Thai msg shops, be it in touristtown or in Thaitown, only open up by 10.00 at the earliest-which means by that time someone arrives to open up, start cleaning, set the boards out etc. and thus maybe after 30 mins service can be given. As has been said so often; APPs are the answer to all that. Even when visiting a shop that states to open by that time, do it.

taking taxi from arrivals at airpt is very much near banned and frowned upon, in fact some time ago they have set all types of barriers trying to prevent that. only for those fluent and well used to Th and how things work there That you go In town at rush-hr time makes no difference at all anymore at express/tollway_standstill both sides. That also happens a long time mornings (from short after 6.00 till after 9.00)
-
its all very, very confusing and also seems to change every time a new plan gets announced. the site skyscrapercity -. railways -> TH likely has best current info, it describes rail 9and also other main) infra structure works in this world. Oldest project was the mainly chinese backed continuation of their own built line south from Kunming, to lao border (operating) across lao (uConstr.) and then to BKk and aimed at even reaching Singapore via malaysia- MY withdrew when they ousted the corrupt former PM. T my best current knowledge the Thai have now decided the first strecth only Bkk_Khorat but at lower cost, possibly meaning also lower speed, the missing link from Kh to lao still to be decided upon. This link is the 3 airports to connect with BKK and Pattaya, on normal gauge and partly already there (but has to be upgraded) Airport LInk and nearly finished red line from end of ARL via new giant station to DMK. Besides slower all-stops there should be a few fast trains (bypassing, as was also the case with the ill-fated airport express when ARL staretd) and much higher fares too-it now runs in big losses. 250 is reachable for trains from distance of 40/50 kms, between stops f.e. BKK-airp to PTY nonstop.

Merci ilz, that makes me suddenly rich considering that I also have at least still 3 old copies (different editions) of the old ''handbook'' TMOT-took them with me even though I discarded most old books when I recently changed houses/moved. Now selling via ebay or amazon and even finding someone willing to pay that for it and then shipping by mail across the customs........much trouble. From that time same editor are 2 books which offer in english translated short reader-stories from Thai gay mags of that time (think pre 2000), ''the dove that coos'' where about every story gives yet another Thai wording for the basics of what we all here like too much. 'riding in the tunnel''' or ''enter the back door'' are likely best known. Bird with 2 eggs is also the common bahasa slang.

@ Ram 2, pra-ram tee song: Greater BKK has 9 Ram xx roads, from 1 to 9. it also has a bridge ram8. Ram 2 is a fairly long straight road in the outer south-west of greater BKK, Thonburi side, also quite far from BTS, it has numerous shopping centres (at least 2x BigC, Centran, tesco-one of the very oldest started as Lotus) at least 3 local wet markets and a gay sauna for ages, in the remaining old-style block squeezed into that U-shaped Centran. the road leads into the road out of BKk to the south and the Amphawan water market and that ''trains across the market'' VDO where Asians go wild at. Without any further info its impossible to loate a place, plus that it might also well be into one of the 100s of side-sois off it.

Further to Or.topic: in fact there are extensive such reviews on Thai sites, of course many more serviceguys + customers hail from there but not so much in the Silom tourist ghetto. Of course all in Thai only. Nasty thing is the sites change very often as they are likely prohibited under whatever Thai regulation. Most of the longer time working boys in such out of centre places are very well aware of that (or have been attended to those by the bosses), they can show it on their fones if asked about it. And its also Thai that fb=facebook or that ''line'' can also offer interesting texts. But its the needle in the haystack to find them. Best source to finding out is most likely dear Christian with is skills in reading Thai and finding obscure Thai sites.
-
No, boys are not really aware of this. There is, but alas more used to be, another forum that went into much more detail but it is, at least for TH, also about dead. the cr...ng f s..x, then follow links to S-E Asia. Was mostly for long time expats daring venturing out of the tourist ghetto. But yes, what others above write about personal exp, days off, etc. really does apply. And again: looks say nothing about skills, which is what you go for there, nah?

And whithin the radius you mention, this is also about the one and only place recognised to have a (indeed quite lively) gay scene. On the other side of the waters, HuaHin might qualify, but its a litle over the 2 hr tr.time. had to look where that Suk Tha would be (Tha=pier, but may also mean other things in Thai), and (as i think to know BKK pretty well) its of course not INside BKK, but in/near bang Phu (=crab village), in Samut Prakarn provine (also known as Pak nam) which is since the latest extension of BTS not that far from the outer end there. Buses have gone-songhthaew or taximeter or maybe a van for last end, beyond ''little Thailand'' and also (offside) the croc-farm, both main goal for large tourist coaches. Just for short, as about anywhere in ''rural'' TH by now: the ''scene'' is on various apps on the Mobuy, as every Thai has on average 1,8 of such things. read the blog of christianpfc for an enormous long list of tips and experiences with that to gain contacts with willing young Thai men.
