  1. ?? 1.if that would be true-the real massage only shops nearly always do give the ordered time. In my regular shop-when its not so busy, I often get even more. 2. in other boards-probably well-known to most readers here too, PRIME is very often mentioned as giving (lots of) ''extra''service. Though it cannot be taken for granted. As is the case in about any of the shops in that soi between Silom and Suriwong. Not to criticise you -just to mention what has been found about this palce by others- never ever judge too quicky, here in Thaild-and certainly not in that tourist zone.
  2. only seeing this now. Yes, have been, it has direct access to both MRT and BTS, so its just a 8 min ride from that holy Silom-enclavebubble. At least 5 gay m2m massageshops in the neighborhood-so you could also go for some change in that. Its hyped as a designer (and it is-like they do in Las Vegas the mediterraen theme re-invented lookalike) and indeed has a fair lot of independent small designer (mainly lady clothes) shops-as overpriced as any self respecting Thai designer cannot sell for too cheap. As such it looks far better/inviting/interesting as that icycold and dreary Paragon to me. The usual multi chains as in about any Thai/BKK complex in the basement and it apparently did succeed in catching on the BKKs hi-so young crowd-did not note yet what they have left for it-maybe some TongLor venue.I always wonder what the sehlf-life of some ''brand new-come and see'' new BKK/Thai shopping complex-or in fact about any building is-they tend to start to fall apart in pieces or serious neglect in 3-4 years with all new venues coming up. What most of you also do not know is th sorry state of many suburban shopping complexes so proudly opened just a few yrs ago. Several of the Carrefours overthere were like ruins when they went over to BigC-even inside the shops they seemed to have left any desire to sell anything.
  3. hello again, fly back to BKK tomorrow. Just tried here in a KUL-guesthse what U asked and they , gaydar, fridae, come on, no blocks. P/GR still blocked, but of course we have loads of techy-smart Chinese here and on trevvy there is already a link to get into GR via another site. There are also 2-3 local Malay sites, like mingle2 or so. Was a nice other scene for a week or so, but now that for the 1st time I have spent longer time in Kl 9many times in past-kust passing thru) glad to be back in BKK soon.
  4. yes-that is right. Found this when entering MY here at rantau Panjang/opposite Sungai kolok/TH-going toward KB=Kota Bahru. But no Qs-they made way for me and the officer had to dust of this plate and start up the whole system-just for me. Luggage also X-rayed, but I think this was also before. No more just a stamp in paspor, but on a 2-sided sticker, the other part to be taken off on leaving-coming sunday, KLCC for me.
  5. Spend my time this week in KUL. Since a day or 2 this site, most populair among Malays for hookups, has been blocked on all computers i tried and this also mentioned on the trevvy forum. No reason for this known. Could be interpreted as yet another move to make life harder for PLU.
  6. @1. seems to me a tipical ChMai expression-for a (fe)male beautyqueen/miss, clad in the usual long slender dress from here and with an extensive hair-juwellery on. have only heard it (here) in relation to YiPeng=LOyKrtg festival @2-was adressing the OP=jaafar/baobao (=softx2). He lives here. KHam Muang is the old name for the then apart kingdom of the north around ChMai. Thus they are tipically NOT chao doi=people from the hills. Kham=also word in Thai, also signifies the tipical dialect spoken here. Most chao doi have their own dialect/language, often with Tibetan roots. The biggest group-debatable if they are realy chao doi, are the Shan/Karen (THai Yai for Thai) who mainly live in Burma=Myanmar=Phima and sneek over borders. They speak mainly a version of proper Thai (also in BUrma!
  7. bloedsinn-was very near yesterday and here in Cmai since 10 days and all is dry.It is too far. I was mainly interested if sauna would be worthwhile. And thanks-have found a nice and much cheaper place to stay aorund taPae.
  8. Am in your town, ChMai now, and enjoyed the festivities here. Much larger-and nicer! as that 1 evening affair in BKK. Yesterdays eve parade along Tapae-with the good people of the north also providing ample male beauties on the floats was very nice. This time really sorry I do not take pix, nor even have that mobuy with camera ready. Amusing story in our branch- 2/3 days ago at Pantip they wer preapring for a kind of show on a stage. Loads of small ''nopparat''=beauty queen. A sizeable group op ladyboy looking males. And 2 fierce males-with San Yont tattoos on the back-and 1 with an interesting looking same around waist-they looked like having longer trousers, but that was painted on the thighs and they only wore a small sarong around the hips. They were repeating for a kind of sword-dance. I overheard them-and (oh really-the Kham Muang people here speak so good Thai-slow-it is so easy to understand) they were talking among them about;; "now we get all those white gays asking us........."" and sure enough, whithin 5 mins a couple arrived and asked.

    Bangkok Floods

at least some relief from those eternal nam tuam on the TV: yesterday, while having lunch [excellent here-and mostly still 25 bt-though you can still eat at some places for 15 bt) ThaiTV-3, which had endless [and well praised) flood stories for weeks on end-had an item about how to cope with the floods, funny contraptions and laughable things locals in notyetwet BKK were preparing, tuktuks with raised foreforks, etc. Also much good advice about how to float, how to clean up, etc. Also today=Loy Kratong many satires on crocodile kratongs, Burberry-boots kratongs, etc. And how normal life went on in the dry places.
  10. CHMai here-Tesco seems to be hit especially bad-their main centers are in the floods. Water-not the clear 1,5 lt bottles, but a big stock of that local 1 ltr thick white plastic. And dozens of those machines-fine enough for me. Some particular items are lacking-but thats more farang wining-a Thai can just go to the market. BTW-most Thai wont stock up at all-unless they still live in prone-to-flood areas. >90% of this country is very, very dry [though there were some rains yesterday eve here-delaying the kratong procession)
  11. as z909-and i think even more in the other direction as tipically those askers tend to think: more demand for THB, due to need for extensive repairs=means higher prices in US$ to pay for it. Same-same happened in Japan after Tepco-reactor failure. OR: go to fora like thaivisa for the eternal wining and better knowers (just closed it-hence why)

    Bangkok Floods

Complete nonsense-the place I stay in (a cheap guesthse-yes not up to stndd for most of you) has 12 rooms-I take 1 and yesterday there were 8 empty. By now I am getting to know the roomboy-a Burmese vendor at nightbazar staying there in exchange for cleaning daytime. And same-same for about any of the 10+ same houses in this small but quiet soi-right beside TaPae. Thai mostly have a quite limited look and tend to repeat=parrot about 1 hotel that may have been ''full'' to generalize it on the whole area. Also Thai tend to stay in other places as farang-and in fact many farang-aimed guesthss do not even take Thai. Yesterday eve a not overlong but very nice parade-ChMai also really honours the male aspect in these processions. But the fireworks are banned in BKK-another thing ChMai might just imitate for me. What I meant was the -what I found till now- much lower stdds for pleasing massages compared to BKK. For me they can also pack up and send the whole of Loy Kroh rd to the desert-or beyond the Burmese border. Further to maps: I think the follwoing is a little better: on bangkokgis.com-it is based on google , but only in Thai. For roads in BKK-region (probably not too interesting for most of you-be assured taxi's will know and even better): maintenance.doh.go.th/bypass
  13. Hello all from Chiang Mai: does anyone have some experience with this place-apparently belonging to a chain also in Phuket and Singapore? Seem to recall having read something about it somewhere, but unable to refind that. Seems a little distant from inner city. Is said to be a gay guesthse, with pool, gym, etc-but that does not say very much here in CMai.

    Bangkok Floods

@z909-it is not a matter of peaking-it is a matter of a giant mass of water slowly-slowly coming down (very little height diff) north to south-with BKK in its way. They try to have most of it around the inner city-but this seems feeble now. The only indeed happy fact is that rainy season has finished, so there is no more water added. And maybe-who knows, a little of it may go up in the air. I really wonder after a week of uncertainty myself too, why so many people cannot use simple logic about it. @map BKK-post: not very useful. The average poster wont have clue of BKKs khets=districts, and it simply shows IF there is reported water in some khet/or not-yet. Even In a khet there may be water here and not there. PS: the main Silom safety zone is in Bang Rak, lower Sukhumvit in Klong Toey, both are just obelow #8=Din Daeng (=red earth, aheavy red shirts area, so maybe they now get what they wanted- a red coloured area) For any of you thinking about somewhere else: greetings from Chiang Mai here, nice city, still plenty of empty rooms, friendly people, cheap and loads of good and abundant Thai food. Maybe a good injection of BKK-style enhanced gay life may also help here improve the standards in that respect.
  15. in my country they have scrapped paying for those licences some years ago. The left winging side of BBC would be OK, if not for their ''o pity these poor people, all victims of those oppressing hi-so classes'' syndrome everytime. And then they get pix from Thai news and see happy faces, kids playing in the floods and all that-no signs for go and rush starting collecting money. But you Brits: why do you do the same as here in Thai-only left and right-only upper/lower class? Never learnt to cooperate and work together? Why all that distrust?

    Namprae Hang Dong

state chiangwat=province and amphoe=district clearly. Or is that Phrae? The place mentioned is unknown -even to me.
  17. From me also all the best-never spoil a chance on new info. But as to this quote: did you realise-after years of reading the eternal strife and squibbling on these boards-that THEY may quite well look at your new idea as a potential big competitor, to be chased away ASAP (after all-they need paid ads). Except most likely dear GB-he is much nicer as his avatar seems to suggest. I would give a tip from normal tourist forums, like f.e. TA=tripadvisor (as I have to read all these-well most from time to time- for job to keep uptodate for Thai news); TA stands out as they have dedicated and always polite (me gets tired and bored after 2-3 same Qs from totally ignorant ozzies too lazy too open up a guidebook) people who can answer most Qs as they have the knowledge-unbiased. And they delete anything that is too commercial-but you could simple move it to the free ads, nah? For me personal: I think any good has its bad-so for a balanced review of any place, not just gay shops or hotels, I would like to see the negative as well as positive. I simply do not believe that some place can only get positive feedback.

    Bangkok Floods

Your and my fave mag BK-mag had it-the 1 I grabbed when 1 day in BKK (now CMai)_: they will build a new canal/river all the way -800 kms- from Chiang Rai to Pattaya, it will have new casino's and floating disco's and these will all be free.
  19. back to original: the mag is still there, sold at fewer outlets, but evenhere in Khorat was in the shelves of the See-Ed in the BigC. This month (well-last-oct) had 3 models- farang, punkie young Thai and Chinese plain and a report on manchester hidden secrets (yes, MAn-UK). In fact I was browsing for other mags-and some twinkie local lad picked it up and started looking at me. But have a ticket for CMai this evening.

    Bangkok Floods

this has indeed been extensibyly shown an about any of the 10+ channels on TV showing nam tuam and more floods. NOone told how fast these creepies can go-and if the stay alive longtime in water-or not? To calm all of you: Pak Kred is some 15-20 kms away from the Silom safety zone, where most of you never venture out of. Danger of getting electrocuted seems still far higher.
  21. No-nein. Thats exactly it. Untill 21.00-when park closes, the fitness space can be worthwhile. It really varies per day and the later in the eve the better. It is easy as it is like a walk around the block. And if you find nothing-there is still the market a little furhter on-with lots of Poh. Any single male farang walking there will assumed to be on the prowl. There are always taxi/tukx2 waiting to take you else-or there are 2 or 3 acceptable short-time hotels nearby- which i would rec for a first time. They will generally not do overnighters. Area currently partly flooded though-overspill from river nearby.
  22. but at reduced schedule-only routes to Udorn and ChMai I believe- 2 or 3 of their normal 6/7 planes in use.
  23. Then again you still are not adapted to Thai style-thinking-it would make this place even more popular and create ques, sloppy service and lack of boys suitable for that demanding place. Better wonder as to how they seem so able to get the boys so eager to work there-and even more-to function that good!

    FRESHIM

This is brand new on the shelves here-with a lot of giggling promotion on radio and news etc. about it. Various big chemist=drugstorechains like the likes of Boots and Watsons declined it. WHat is it? A deodorant spray for your private main male part down yunder. Especially good after a long days of work, it was stated. Now there are a lot of ther nationalities around here so I ask you: Is this really that new? Never ever seen/heard about such a thing in your homecountry?
  25. wrote my first response a few days ago. Since then I chekced my trusty LP-guidebook for Cina from 2009 (thus mostly with data from 07/08)-there is a new edition since out. There are 4-5 pages on this and another smaller bu definitely more bekpek-friendly park nearby. On JZG is mainly says: 1,5 mlj domestic tourists and 20.000 hotelrooms-guess that must have doubled since. nd it does mention a few bekpek-cheapo places to stay- some 3-4 kms away from the main gates (entry a hefty 200 CNY=1000THB- has this also been increased? does one have to pay to see at Swiss snow-capped mountains?) without bus. The nearby town of Songpan (does not mean 2000) is the bekpek aimed nearby town and has plenty of cheap guesthss and hostels and is famous for horsetreks (all guided and no fear) in that park-from 1/2 till 4-5 days). The bus ride to Chengdu takes 10-12 hrs-but maybe there is also some new tollway now shortening this. But good to read that it may sometimes even be possible that masses of mainland domestic tourists do not spoil tghe whole adventure. In geenral my opinion is, that the area were the Han-Chinese were not domestic and thus other ''tribes'' were living, are the best. This area is about half Tibetan-a very funny ''tribe'' indeed. I visited Chengdu -and Xian on my first 2 Chinatrips before 1990-when half the people were still wearing blue mao jackets etc. The approach by air into what is called Lhasa airprot (some 90 kms away from that town) is also amazing! And somehow I still think that those terracotta warriors statues near Xian are secretly being fabricated in some top-secret workplace behind all those closed off places. In 1988/89 there was just 1 hall with them-now many more. So far runs my distrust- or admiration -of the abilities of the Chinese to copy each and everything. They even build new towns looking like old medieval.......purely for the tourist attraction.
