  1. The hotel's security and the police were notified. Fingerprints were taken from the credit card and the safe. The employee was located and charges were filed. American Express removed the charge and everything turned out well. Someday, when you grow up and have a business, you'll understand why it is best not to trash people and business via the internet. As I am a guest and a visitor in Thailand, I choose not to make waves that could one day come back to haunt me. I would also advise anyone that is a visitor or on a retirement visa not to cause any trouble as causing a Thai to lose face can get you a death wish. Things as we know them in the west do not apply in Thailand. But again, you do as you wish.
  2. That is your right to do as you wish, just as it is my right not to disclose the hotel's name. There is no purpose in trashing anyone or any business. If they persist on doing the wrong things that particular hotel will eventually have their ability to accept credit cards taken from them. That would be punishment enough!
  3. I mention the incident just to make you aware of the problem with hotel safes. It would serve no purpose to name the hotel. Trashing a person or a business is simply something I care not to do.
  4. Mexican food is just plain hot from the chilies. The difference in Thai food is that in addition to the warmth from the chilies you have other flavors that you can actually taste. Mexican food is just plain boring compared to Thai food. In addition, Mexican food just isn't very healthy!
  5. Thanks for sharing the video. From my experience gay Rio is much better in person. The video doesn't do it justice. However, nothing compares to Thailand. The food and the culture in Thailand have most places beat by a mile.
  6. You can have a problem with room safes in even the better hotels. Once I was staying in a well known name brand hotel on Suriwong Road, Bangkok and my American Express card was removed and used to buy some jewelry in Chiang Mai. So, as safe as you think room safes are, they aren't.
  7. Posting anything negative about someone isn't the smartest thing a person can do. Unfortunately there are many older gossipy queens visiting and living in the Pattaya area that get great pleasure spreading rumors, lies and negative information about other people. If they would put all that time and energy into something more positive, such as volunteer work it would make Pattaya even better! If you are reading this board and have never visited Thailand or Pattaya, you can be sure that when you do visit you will have the experience of a lifetime. Don't believe all the negative information that is posted on the gay message boards as fact. Take the time, explore and make your own opinions.
  8. The value of a person is in no way related to the size of his penis. What disappoints some may not have any importance to others. Unless of course you're a size queen and then you're probably never satisfied.
  9. Southwest Airlines has been in trouble before for not following government mandated maintenance schedules for their planes. Just another example why low cost airlines are not always the best choice when flying in the USA.
  10. Standards, for food and service, have fallen over the last few years. However, you won't find a better place to enjoy watching the cute Thai boys that come into in the area. If you're just going there to drink then probably everything is about the same for you.
  11. That was not nice! Why attack Steve Jobs?
  12. Cheap package tourists are the mainstay of the Pattaya tourism population. As much as we despise the actions of the Russians here in Pattaya, they aren't the only ones that are an annoyance. A lot of the tourists around Pattaya are cheap skates that don't add much stimulus for the local economy.
  13. It was nice to see Steve Jobs on stage introducing the new iPad. Hopefully, he is feeling much better than he looks.
  14. A few of my trips to St. Petersburg, Russia were very nice and the people there were welcoming. However, visiting Moscow was quite different. The people in Moscow are peculiar and have that attitude that they are superior. We all know differently but try to convince them!
  15. Richard's has average food. The prices for food and drink are reasonable but what good is a low price when everything is substandard. Looking at the staff is far better than eating the food. But isn't that usually what is offered in Bangkok's gay restaurants?
