I know the property you are talking about and I know a few other forum members have stayed there. We have all been fairly satisfied staying there. Getting the key is very easy 24 hours. If your staying for the first time she will walk you across the street and show you the unit. Security guys are not an issue. I have brought many boys there and they barely look up. Location is great. Taxis very easy to get. You need to use elevator key card to go up or down, so you will need to walk boy in and out. I’ve never had a problem with smell. Pool is nice. Not much seating, never many people there. Gym is small but ok. For me it works, I really like it. You said your looking at 10 days. I’m not as familiar with Saun Plu, but have heard good things about the area.

Getting older (loss of sex drive) medication fault?

And that cardio includes not running from bar to bar to bar. -
I believe it was the usual cast change issues. Attitude issues and money.

I will miss it also. I have the final 3 episodes taped and will watch this weekend. Almost from the beginning I binged watched each season. The story lines carried over each week, so was fun watching it all at once.

I’m not using Asia Miles, when I fly Cathay I post my miles to My American Airlines account. I use my American miles for Business seats on Cathay. It’s true there is lots of wheeling and dealing trying to use miles. British Airways would work great for me, but their fee’s on a mileage Business seat is more than buying an economy seat and upgrade on American. A few years ago all the airline programs were pretty much the same. Not so much anymore. You really have to do some homework to keep up with it. Many on here say they just look for cheapest ticket they can find and don’t care about mileage accounts. Nothing wrong with that. For me, I’ll continue to play with alliances as long as it works. So far I have never in 10 years have had to fly to Bkk in Economy. I’ve never bought more than a PE fare. Hopefully I can keep it going. Time will tell.

My trips are from Miami. I fly Miam-Boston-Hkg-Bkk. I get about 8k base miles and about 9k miles for fare and status. This is in Premium Economy. If I fly American Airlines I can buy Economy fare and upgrade to Business. Trip last month was 17,530. That’s one way. Round trip 35,060. This is with Cathay Pacific. Then throw in the miles I get from Miami to Boston, or LAX or SFO, if I go that way, and I’m just about at the 40k point. A Business Class ticket on One World airlines is 70k miles. Upgrades can be had for 25K . When I retired I had 1.5 million miles. I used miles mostly for upgrades, that way you still earn miles. Do free trips when fares are high.

A round trip to Bangkok earns me 40,000 miles. So 2 trips earns me a Business Class ticket. While I don’t totally disagree with you about mileage earning, it’s not all that bad. Miles can be used for upgrades also. That’s where I use most of mine.

Several of my Vietnamese friends are at home now planting rice. Then they go home again in October for the harvest. A couple of guys said today they will be back in 2 weeks. So maybe more will be back around that time.

I love the Silom/Surawong area. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. But it is true you will be hard pressed to find a decent two bedroom apartment along with all your other expenses within your budget. Maybe other side of river on BTS line. But if your going to get Thai retirement visa, your going to need to meet income requirements. About $2000 per month or $25000 in a bank account. So you have a lot of research to do.

Colombia...do not overstay your visa!
paulsf replied to likeohmygod's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
This is pretty much the same rules as in Thailand. Another thing that is happening is with modern technology. After your passport has been Red Stamped all over the place for very long overstays and your being deported, they are notifying your home country of deportation making it difficult to get a new passport to go anywhere. -
Your not going to find an entertainment center on one street as in Thailand. But there are several gogo’s within the cities. Zone Rosa is the best area in Mexico City. But Bangkok and Pattaya are spreading out into different areas. You wouldn’t any problems getting around other cities for their clubs.

Prices are cheaper than Thailand. And apps are loaded with guys Safety is a bigger issue than in Thailand, but not much worse than any major city. Drug cartels are not interested in you going to a strip club in Mexico City. You just need to be aware of your surroundings as you would anywhere.

Another strike hits Brazil - 5-30-2018
paulsf replied to mvan1's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
I have spent a lot of time in Brazil and enjoy it a lot. But yes now I spend 6 months a year in Bangkok. This is a Latin America forum and of course most are going to have a biase. There is a Gaythailand forum where most are biase towards SE Asia. Some in that forum say the same thing. It’s the “no doubt about it” lines that gets to me. We are all different people. Different places offer different things for all of us. For you it’s Brazil and nothing wrong with that. It’s a great place to be. -

As for the Cathay flight from Washington, the fares are starting very high. It would be a very good flight for me , but I was looking at PE fares. $1000 higher than just going up to New York. Hopefully they adjust.

Boston thru this weekend. Then Ft. Lauderdale for summer. Back to Bangkok September.

I’m waiting for the current season to finish then binge watch it on my next flight to Bangkok. Loved the first season.

I’ve done Qatar Phl-Doh-Bkk. Agreed, great way to go. Did it in Business. Mr usual route is Mia Dallas Hkg Bkk on American. Sometimes thru Tokyo. Last couple of trips I’ve done Boston Hkg Bkk on Cathay. I try to stay with One World as I have high status with AA and lots of perks. Being retired I can fly mid week which helps keep fares down. I also spend time in Hanoi and use Qatar for that from Bkk. Short flight but great service.

As of a couple of weeks ago he wasn’t even in Thailand. He has a way of taking a simple story and turning it into a best seller. I suspect there is truth to the story, but how much, I’m not sure.

This is mostly just in the US.

I fly to Bangkok out of Miami. I will admit I’m a little particular about what airline I fly. I don’t just go for the lowest priced flight I can find. I look for fares I can upgrade or buy Premium Economy. Brazil in coach is easy 8 hours. Bangkok in coach is 24 hours. Not so easy. Last December I got a $725 fare. In February I got a $850 fare. It’s just our summer months that fares go up.
