  1. QR gets high marks because their business class "suites" product is quite good. But other airlines are certainly catching up in that department. I think people also like DOH airport as well. Their lounges there are pretty spectacular. Skytrax isn't exactly known for objectivity so there's probably a decent amount of cash changing hands. I like ANA a lot too. Will be even better when they finish replacing their older seats with a better product. Their business class is fine except for the complete lack of storage which I make it a point to complain about every time I fly with them. đŸ™‚
  2. I agree that LGW to New York and LA seems like a recipe for disaster. Too much competition already on those routes. This doesn't really sound serious to me. Since there are no new A380s to be built it will be interesting to see how long these planes keep flying. I'm guessing that spare parts and maintenance will be the biggest issues for most carriers. Given the current pilot shortage issues, large aircraft like this will be important for the industry. And with the 777-X so far behind schedule there's going to be problems for several years to come.

  5. for me it's usually about 24 hours one way. So at least 2 weeks and more like 4 makes it worthwhile
  6. fill out their customer service form and you should at least get some extra miles compensation. Better than nothing
  7. Was Dick really visiting girly bars? This is completely off-topic, but Tim Newton's Sunday YT show with Steve Rosse is entertaining mostly because Steve is a pretty good story teller.
  8. I just came across this place on Twitter. It's in Osaka https://izakspa.com
  9. maybe you should start charging admission Lots of tall buildings now-a-days. Got some great shots at the Ashton Chula roofdeck, but of course it is not open to the public. I also went to the roof deck at SIAMSCAPE by Siam Square but was a little disappointed. There is a bit of view to the west but it was fairly popular at sunset so the best spots were taken
  10. this was essentially my experience at 15M as well. I wrote about it a couple of months ago. So I think one does not go there for a good massage. They do have quite a stable of guys. If I was just looking to fool around I think I would go back. There are a couple of newer guys in their listings who piqued my interest. This guy would be my next choice I think:
  11. what Western country are you in where 4000 baht is the going rate? Here in the US it's more like 7000-10000 depending on your location but most big cities are in that range. If you factor in drinks, off fee and paying the boy isn't 4000 around the price in Bangkok? I did pay quite a bit at Zoo Spa for the super package that included massage, etc.
  12. He gave a great interview on Scott Galloway and Kara Swisher's Pivot podcast a couple of weeks ago as well.
  13. certainly if the new government manages to outlaw recreational use there will be some big changes
  14. several videos up on YT from opening day
  15. There are the TokyoBTMs. Their channel is entertaining to me. https://www.youtube.com/@TokyoBTM But I agree that there is a huge number of Thailand vloggers out there so you would think there would be at least some covering gay things. Ethan Lusby has some decent videos and a lot of click bait. But he's been forced to leave Thailand because he had too many entries and exits. https://www.youtube.com/@ethanlusbytravels/featured
  16. I don't know. But my doctor does an informal sort of assessment which seems to be the current accepted practice with respect to mental health. That's something that's been happening the last few years where they talk about depression and emotional health issues.
  17. but it's not only STIs. It's full blood screening panel and behavioral assessment like you would have in any annual physical. But then adds in the sexual health stuff.
  18. just curious, but what are you offended by about this?
  19. Spas are pretty simple, although some places offer more legit massage so if you're looking for hanky panky you'll want to visit one of the spas offering happy ending type massages. You probably won't get a great massage but you'll have some sexy fun. The manager or person at the front desk should be able to suggest some one if you tell them what you're looking for if you haven't selected someone already. They're all pretty much on Line and/or Twitter so contacting them is fairly easy. I never tried much to meet guys on the apps, but obviously others have had good luck. The gogos are relatively straightforward for the most part. You go in and you will be met with one or several waiters/captains/mamasan who will direct you to a seat and ask you to buy a drink. Be sure to find out how much the drinks cost and how much "boy drinks" are as well. That way you won't be surprised when the bill comes. In most places the mamasan will ask you which boy you like to try and get you to ask one to join you so you will buy him a drink. They will also ask you to buy them a drink too. Given the high cost of drinks they can add up quickly. If you choose to take a boy home with you there is the "off fee" for taking him out of the bar and then the fee you will owe him for your time together. Make sure to find out if he will do what you are looking for before you take him out of the bar. It's not a guarantee that he will actually do what he says, but it can help to eliminate disappointments. Just keep your sentences short and use simple English for communication. Google translate can also be helpful when you don't speak the language. I guess it can be a little intimidating at first, but you'll get the hang of it quickly. Be on your guard but not too stand-offish as these places exist to separate you from as much baht as possible. Set yourself a reasonable budget before you go out for the evening and carry cash. Try to get smaller notes, 100s and 500s especially rather than dealing with getting change for 1000s which can be a way for the bar to game things a bit to extract tips from you. Count the change carefully. And you may want to have 100s should you choose to attempt the world-famous Vinapu Tuck (TM). Don't necessarily expect everything to go perfectly. But have if you have a friendly, good attitude you should have a great time. I love the chaos of Bangkok. You'll be there during rainy season so expect some downpours and possible flooding rains on occasion.
  20. Apparently the BKK governor and the PM in waiting both participated in the parade. For sure a short route in a relatively odd location. But I guess then everyone could go shopping
  21. it's crazy how many beautiful boys are available!
  22. The people who run these companies want to know if you had a poor experience so they can make corrections. You don't need to write a 3 page letter, but if the driver is doing unsafe things the owner should want to know about it. If something bad happens it would ruin their company
  23. I recently became aware of several more that have a Twitter presence. And once you follow one the others get recommended. I do not have any experience with any of them https://www.dgdgdg.com/top.php?shop_id=10 https://www.fragrance-boy.com/top/ https://chance-shinjuku.jp/
  24. As is the second book in the series Very Bangkok: In The City of the Senses
  25. thanks for the report. I think if I had an unsafe driver like that I would be contacting the manager/owner of the company
