  1. Indeed, sounds fascinating.
  2. These bars are not cookie shops, or geisha bars, where you are paying for company. These are brothels where guys are in the shop window for sex. While the 100 Baht tip for the boy you have been boring for an hour is appreciated, he ain't going to be able to live on tips that size. Ladies, you sound like Victorian Gentlewomen at a Country House Ball with your "Rules of Engagement"! "Might I have the honour of the next waltz M'Lady Darcy" " I am sure that i would be delighted to accept if I can M'Lord Gaybutton. Please allow me to check my dancecard. Oh I must humbly apologise, as I can see that the most earnest Lord Blackadder has already booked me, and alas my dancecard is full for the rest of the evening too". You only have to look at the expression on the face of a guy who has spent an hour sitting with some farang, while he nurses his drink, and misses opportunities to be offed, to know that they are there to be offed, they want to be offed, and if you want to waste their time, at least have the decency to let them go off if there is a customer who definitely wants to take them. And be happy for them. Miserable old grouches. Just because you have bought a guy a drink, you think you have the right to monopolize him for the evening.
  3. And for night life in Seam Reap don't forget to visit Figo for good food, fun staff and internet access, Linga bar for more sophisticated ambience. Both of these are exclusively gay, and when they close take your new friends or go alone to Zone One, which is a mixed disco that is fun and open late, the area around the bar opposite the entrance is interesting.
  4. But listening to, and reading the bitchings, is rather less fun!
  5. Nice post Gone Fishing.
  6. If it was so distasteful to "watch" guys being jerked off, why did you stay in the bar so long, up to 40 minutes now?
  7. What created this build up of bile and bitterness, one wonders?
  8. Sorry Pete, I have been told that it is true, and that it has been generally attributed to an overdose of Ya Baa.
  9. Lady of the Manor
  10. The nightclub in Siam Reap is Zone One, not Zero One, and I can endorse it as good fun. And it takes all sorts, because I had a great time at Figo bar, as well as La Linga, in Siam Reap.
  11. What posts have misleading information on Sawatdee? If such posts exist please point them out.....
  12. Ah yes, but then they would have to pay tax on their earnings. A visa run is cheaper.
  13. If you are visiting clubs in Bangkok outside the tourist areas, you will be required to show ID, usually passport, to gain entry.
  14. They're certainly coming to the right place.
  15. Oh dear, is the owner of Niddy's Nook posting under the name of Rose, pretending to be a satisfied customer?
  16. Happy to know that both GT and GB have checked the bar in question and found that there were no under age guys there. As I wrote, I had never been there, but I am reassured that the concern expressed by several posters was apparently misplaced. As this is the case, presumably the owner would no longer mind if the name of the bar is mentioned or further promoted here? It seems a shame to miss out on the publicity! I understood that this forum was hosted abroad, and that therefore the usual concern about Defamation did not apply, as a Thai Court would be unable to prove ownership of the site, and that therefore any action by a complainant was pointless. Probably not worth all the hassle anyway, of upsetting people, if the point of having the site is just for personal fun.
  17. Only one paragraph of the article relates to the 1932 coup, or coups prior to the 1970s. I hardly think that the current censorship applies to events of twenty and thirty years ago, but if you wish to use this as the justification to keep your "understanding" and "other interpretations" to yourself, I daresay we will all have to survive without your special insights.
  18. How does your recall of these events differ? It seemed a well written and accurate account, given the anount of ground covered in a short article.
  19. The actions of the Moderators in this matter speak volumes for the priorities on this forum.
  20. Actually the ex-captains, Khun Kaew and Khun Sa-oh, were making a go of it........which was not unnoticed by their landlord, who demanded a whopping increase in rent, which they refused to pay, and closed down voluntarily rather be blackmailed. Khun Kaew has been travelling in India, while Khun Sa-oh is working at James Dean Bar.
  21. Maurice and I are talking about the same person.
  22. There is concern in another thread about gay visitors to Thailand being tarred with the pedophile brush. Do our Moderators think it helps if they keep referring to their boyfriends as their "boys"?!
  23. It looks like a typo, should be "while he was getting his luggage".
  24. To the boys The Godfather is also known as Thaksin, due to the physical similarities and business practices. Behind his back of course.
