  1. Not only did he not go to jail, but because he died before his appeal his conviction was vacated and the government cannot touch his estate. His estate can be sued, but only for compensary damages not punitive. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_Lay In other words this scum bag crook who did much to elect President Bush did manage to take it with him.
  2. I do not know about other Americans, but I am not celebrating Obama's inaugeration as much as I am celebrating the end of George Bush's Presidency. Now that really deserves a party
  3. Ant PC with a P4 and above will run 64 bit. To run really well your motherboard, graphics card and audio card should also be 64 bit and your operating system must be windows xp and above. 64 bit PC's have been out wince 2003, so if you have a new computer you got it. I am not sure about mac. Trying to find out about MACs I stumpled on a Wiki reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/64-bit Hope this helps
  4. Seattle has the largest group of ladyboys in the nation. Here they call themselves Transgenders and they have a large center just for counceling and treatment here. The center is named Ingersoll, and it was founded in 1977. Every year they hold a big week long party in a small coastal town and they practically take it over. The people of the town (Port Angeles) love them and look forward to their coming each year. http://www.ingersollcenter.org/ I have two good friends that are Tranis, and while most are males who want to be women, there are others who are women who want to be men. The girls tell me that many have been married, have children and what they really are are men who want to be women to sleep with women. To be more precise, they are men who want to be lesbians!! It gives me a slight headache, but I learned long ago to accept people as they are and have a great time with the girls. How is the ladyboy scene different in Thailand. Not many in Chiang Mai, so I am curious.
  5. Steve you left out one "errr" as it should read "but well errr, errr, not sure what." However, there is no doubt, but that you have read it correctly. It is so sad that no one is willing to stop the rape of Burma.
  6. Quite of few things but that would be a new thread called "America's approach to drugs--how to change the current approach and find an approach that works." Another possiblity for a thread title could just be "harm reduction". If interested start a new thread and I will contribute---lets not hijak this one.
  7. Did I just read dobbie? I can tell you that people that smoke dobbies and Bogart them are the very worst kind of smokers. It is nice to share.
  8. Outstanding point. However, what is wrong with this picture is that the government gets to take assests before there is a conviction. That is a very bad law that has been often abused and it should be abolished.
  9. Yes, but your last comment says it all. The Titans blew chance after chance and there is no doubt in my mind that the better team won. I predict: The Eagles will beat Arizona--with ease and Baltimore will beat the Steelers in a very close game. THE EAGLES WILL WIN THE SUPERBOWL. For all that follow my advice and win--10% will be appreciated. Of course, if I turn out to be wrong, it won't be my fault----just bad officiating.
  10. Tried almost all of the parlors mentioned above. Still recommend B-Beez as the best all around. Make sure you tell Nui (the Owner) what you expect and he will recommend a boy. All boys but one are Gay, which I think is an added plus. Bretter for bottoms, but, as a top, I have always had very good choices. Many of the boys have worked for Nui for years and all of them give a great massage. Yes, happy endings do vary, and do check out taking the boy off for your massage. The best deal in town.
  11. According to my doctor, it would be very good for me. When I get settled this is one thing high on my list.
  12. I do not know about the center in Bangkok. We have an excellant center here in Chiang Mai that teaches for free and where you can stay for a month and learn mediation and Buddhism. This is their site. http://www.fivethousandyears.org/mos/
  13. Good question. No, I would not accept an appointment from Blago. What I would have done was to say I would accept the nomination, but would not try to take office until the impeachment trail is over and Blago is either Governor or not. If Blago lost his trail, then I would leave it up to his replacement to decide if I am the man he wants in the job. To be a US Senator or any kind of elected leader should require that you are not just an honest man, but you appear that way to others. This is just a little slimy for my taste. However, I doubt I would truly fault others for making an opposite choice.
  14. Actually, I am not happy about this. The poor kid has a druggie for a mother, could not complete high school, and got his girlfriend pregnant---all before he was eighteen. Having a good job and being surrounded by men whom he might grow to like and emulate, may have been the one thing that could have turned this kid's life around. If anything he is a victim of bad parenting and Palin's ambitions. SAD
  15. I don't think I would try this approach. It would just be my luck that the smoker would enjoy it and want more,
  16. YES, YES, YES, personality and brains over beauty any day. At least for the long term. I agree, beauty is great for the night, but in the long haul you want someone with whom you can connect with.
  17. It makes no difference at all. I completely agree that they are just comtemptable thugs. The only good thing is that, in this day and age, the papers report it as a hate crime, and the police actively look for the perpetrators, and, when caught, they are convicted. I so remember only 30 or fourty years ago when the whole thing would have just disappeared, with no one in authority doing anything about a crime like this.
  18. I hate smoking, but there are so many things in this world, in Thailand, in Pattaya and especially in Sunee plaza that are far worse then smoking. Maybe you should check on your priorities?
  19. I agree with Gaysacguy about Mexican food. Chiang Mai, fortunitely has two very good Mexican restaurants that I can go to when I need a Mexican fix. Sorry Gay Grampa, but you are not from the west or Southwest. Everyone in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas eats the many variations of Mexican food. It is not just globs of beans by a long shot. Ever had a chicken enchilada served with a hot spicy chocolate sauce? As good as any meal in France. PS: Gay Sac Guy, I hate to admit it, but I'm from Stockton and lived there for 43 years. Kiss the boys in Faces for me.
  20. I saw a bike shop in Phuket city, but I can't remember name or place. Suggest you contact these people, and ask them were the nearest bike shop is. They do bike tours all over the island. Action Holidays Phuket 10/195 Jomthong Thani 5/4 Kwang Road T.Wichit A.Muang Phuket Thailand. 83000 Tel/Fax. +6676 263575, +6681-7976540 Email: info@biketoursthailand.com
  21. I agree completely. The real villians here are not just the Generals, but China. Without China's support and backing these corrupt petty meglamanics would be long gone. China only supports these ,....... because the Generals give China full access to all of Burma's assets, in return for financing and supplying their army.
  22. Gives a whole new meanings to the phrase, "Burn Baby Burn."
  23. True, I have not been to Rio and must bow to your superior knowledge. Well then thank you for the wonderfull trip report, as you have helped me see new parts of Thailand I knew nothing about. Enjoy yourself, and for us stay at homes who have to work, reports and pictures from RIO would be very nice.
  24. Oh this one is easy to answer. A good cello should only be fed Ben Britten, and he does not microwave worth a damn. Seriously, this type of service is not confined to Thai Air. I have noticed over and over again that no Thai is willing to make a decision when confronted by something not clearly in the rules. Give them a rule and common sense goes out the window. They are told just to obey and never taught to think for themselves. You can get fired for making a mistake, but you will not be fired for blindly enforcing the rules. Customer service is not a consideration.
  25. Yes, he would. Here is a good article on the subject. http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art...articlekey=8229
