Calling all Europeans, and knowledgeable expats

Fountainhall, not really rich, and my investments are just as down as everyone's elses. I just do not need them for an annuity anymore, and can get by in most of Europe. I have been all over Europe, but never been to Switzerland or the German countries. Just curious where would be a good place to run to, if I had too. Bob, all the mirrors were removed 10 years ago when they started lying to me. I know I still look young. Every boy I've picked up in Thailand has told me how young I look, and you know they wouldn't lie (weeelllll, I may have overtipped a little). I hope you are right about Thailand, but I am not quite as confident. Of course, if I lived in Hua Hin where the nightly excitement is watching the tide come in, I might be lulled into a false sense of security myself. It is true that 2nd street in Hua Hin is in another town, and don't you feel trapped when main street has two dead ends. cheers--say hi to smiles -
I am not bragging, but the amount of my retirement has gone up enough that I can now retire anywhere that would have me. If the S... should hit the fan and Thailand becomes too unstable, I would like to know where others might think would be a good safe place to retire outside of the US. While I love Asia and the boys, my heart yearns to see historical sites and great works of art. Therefore, Europe would be my second choice. My taste goes to cities like Barcelona, Florence, Paris, Amsterdamn, and London, but with the great rail system in Europe I could live cheaper outside of these places and still get anywhere. Any suggestions in mind that you know or have heard of? Eastern Europe can be included.

I've never known anyone who has stayed there. When you get back in contact I really would like to know how you liked it. One thing there are four internet houses in five blocks of you, so hope that is soon.

Fountainhall, you are correct, and you jogged my memory. This is a very good restaurant and it is the one I was thinking of. Oh, it is hell being old. My mind went to the wrong street, Yes, shortly after you turn down the road to Mystic on your right next to Gecko books. It is Italian, not Chinese/Japanese. Duhhhhhhhh. Very good food, service and price. Would someone please pass the Alzheimer pills.

The other force at work here is that that among airlines that have first class, making economy undesirable relative to first class can be extremely profitable. It pushes price insensitive folks like rich people, or people who aren't paying for their own flight (business class) to the place where paying 10x the price for a bit more comfort makes sense. So by making economy a terrible place to be, rich folks fork over extraordinary amounts of cash just to escape the masses suffering in economy."

Hey Bob, this is Thailand. Yes, he confessed, yes he was sorry, yes he paid back the graft, but did he give the judge enough money? Justice is not cheap in Thailand. He would have done a whole lot better paying the judge, rather then paying back the theft, and I cannot understand why he did not.

Different strokes for different folks. I've tried many of them and B-Beez is my favorite. If for no other reason then the boys are experts at massage as well as a great happy ending. One thing if you you are planning to go to the mystic, there is a very good Chinese/Japenese restaurant--not fancy without air, about one block before it. Very good, not expensive food. Before, or after your massage.

Yes, with the exception of a couple of bars in Night Bazaar most of the gay boys in Chaing Mai can be found working in the massage parlors. Here is one of my favorites called B-Beezs. There are two pictures for each boy. One with shirt and one without, so scroll down. http://www.b-beez.com/staff.html

I know I will. Gaybutton may be a bit of a crab at times, but he does a very good job moderating and deserves some appreciation from all of us for doing a very difficult job very well. My hat is off to him.

I am sorry to disagree, but according to a very wise Thai leader all the country needs to do is to learn to live with less. I believe it is called a Sufficiency Economy. Of course those with more can enjoy their wealth and keep all the power in their hands, while guiding the rest of the nation into learning how to live with less. This is one of the best economic plans I've ever heard of. I know Louis XVI of France, and Tsar Nicholas of Russia personally endorsed it.

Hell, this is easy just stay away from bulls, chimps, tigers, elephants and kimono dragons and you will be fine. Well that is until your neighbor's bit bull bites you head off. There is a show in the USA called animals gone wild, and any animal can hurt you if it gets mad. So next time you tease the dop next dog and take a broom to a cat in your garden, watch you ass or it may get bitten off.

Astrrro, there are two gay areas in Chiang Mai. One is around the Novotel and the other is at the night market. Most of the boys around the Novotel are straight shan boys, but that is the go-go area, the night market has both gay boys and young shan boys in host bars (two close but seperate areas in night market). I can give the name of two places that are cheaper then the Novotel. One is come-on-place which is located near a nice little park but you would have to tuk-tuk or rent a motorbike. http://www.comeonplace.net/comeon_index.php The other is the seven-suns guest house which is very basic and used to be very reasonable. They also provide airport pick-up and you can walk to night market. http://www.sevensuns.net/home.php The best places to stay are at PJs guest house or the Lotus. The lotus and PJs are the about the same price as the Novotel. Both are gay, and ran by gays. PJ's is on the red bus line and easy to get to town or to the gay areas around Novotel, a and Lotus is in the same area as Novotel. If you can PM with exactly what you plan to do and what you are looking for I can give more precise advise, as to bars, discos, lodgings, and locations.

Have you no shame? You are just plain bad.

I would like to speculate what would have happened had Clinton stepped down and allowed Gore to be President? It not only would have been the right thing to do, but it probably would have been the deciding factor in the 2000 election to put Gore over the top. So the bottom line is whose fault is that we got George Bush. Clinton fucked up, and had he had any real character he should have resigned. While lying under oath was his main crime, stop and think what kind of impulse control does Clinton show by getting a blow job from an idiot page in the oval office? This is the man with his finger on a nucleur botton. The democrats failure to recognize it wasn't the morality of getting a blow job, but the circumstances and the lie led to their rejection by the American public.

This looks like a great place at a great price. My question is how far is the beach and the gay clubs and how hard is it to rent a bike or a car? Cost of vehicle rental?

Heck my mind must be in the gutter. I immediately went to the URL when I saw "head" and all there was to see was a head. What a disappointment. It is very strange if no one knows him. Why would someone come to a strange place and commit suicide and not leave a note. Dosn't make sense to me. My guess is that he was killed somewhere else and it was made to look like a possible suicide. The fools should know you can't fool the professional and highly trained Thailand police force.

I hope for my sake that things stay the same in Thailand. I am really looking forward to my retirement in August. However, you are saying this is on a day when the red and yellow shirts clashed in the streets in Pattaya. Poor economy ="s unemployment and hungry people ="s discontent and crime. It may come to a time when appearing to be well off could be very dangerous, especially if all aspects of law and order go away. Time will tell, but I think it may be a tad early to be content at this point. I do not mean to lay a downer on you, but what I am trying to say is have a good time, but watch you ass and have some plans to be safe or get to safety if the shit hits the fan.

Red Shirt vs Yellow Shirt Demonstration in Pattaya - Turns Violent
KhorTose replied to Gaybutton's topic in Gay Thailand
Oh come on now, how are they supposed to see these buses while they are out collecting their morning tea money. I mean you can only do so much in any given day. -
I do not care that he got a blow job, and I am not surprised politicans lie. I just hate to see them lie under oath---especially when they are the President of the US. Like it or not on this issue I feel the Republicans had a good position. What was stupid and cynical to me was the Whitewater investigation, and the special prosecutor's misuse of the powers given him.
-
Completely agree with the above. I loved it, however.... I really like Sean Penn as an actor and he did a fantastic job in Milk, but I think the award to him was more to send a pro-gay liberal message. As a gay man I really appreciate the sentiment, but as a movie buff, I really think Frank Langella or Mickey Rourke should have got the Oscar.

Canadian gunned down on his birthday PATONG, PHUKET: -- A Canadian real estate developer died on his birthday yesterday after he was riddled with bullets by two men on a motorcycle. At the time of the attack, Francis Alex Degioanni was sitting in his black Toyota outside his seven-story Panorama Condominium block, located in a hillside area off Nanai Rd in South Patong. Kathu Police officers were alerted to the incident at around 8.30 pm. They hurried to the scene along with doctors from Patong Hospital and rescue workers from the Kusoldharm Foundation. Medical examination showed Mr Degioanni had seven .38 caliber bullet wounds in his body, four in his arms, one in the head, one in the neck and one in the chest. Mr Degioanniās girlfriend, Nanthawadee Phenjaroenwatthana, said that before the incident the two of them were in the condo building waiting to go out to celebrate his birthday. Mr Degioanni received a telephone call and told her he had to go out for a short while to take care of some business, she said. When Mr Degioanni got into his car, two men pulled up on a motorbike and opened fire. They then fled, Ms Nanthawadee said. Kathu Police Superintendent Grissak Songmoonark said that Mr Degioanni had been doing business in Phuket for five years, selling condominiums in Patong to foreign tourists. The attack may have been the result of a business dispute, but police were also investigating other motives including romantic jealously, he said. At the time of his death, Mr Degioanni was involved in a court case, having allegedly being cheated out of 20 million baht in a real estate scam, Col Grissak added. When contacted by the Gazette today, an official at the Canadian Embassy cited legal reasons in declining to give any information about the case. -- Phuket Gazette 2009-02-20
