  1. What you never heard GB sing as Count Almaviva in Rossini's "The Barber of Seville"? It is a life changing experience and I would recommend that you talk him into performing it for you on your next trip to Pattaya. I never had the pleasure of meeting John Wayne, but his thick skinned, super macho movie personality is not what I call manly----quite the opposite. If you hurt my feelings I am going to politely tell you that. Keep it up and then I will try the John Wayne approach. However, that will always be my fall back position, not my first approach. I see nothing unmanly about expressing my true feeling to another, until they prove themselves incapable of feeling or understandeing the pain they may have caused. I don't know why, but I always believed that everybody tries their best, we all say things that are stupid, and none of us delibertly tries to hurt another we are engaging in a conversation. I have found few exceptions to the above, but I may have been lucky. What is your experience?
  2. Sorry, but I think your statement of indifference is pure bullshit. Having met you and having read hundreds of your post there is no way I believe the above to be true. Let me guess you were raised by John Wayne?
  3. Yes, you can find a boy who will be a good guide in the area he is familiar with, and I doubt you will find much racism among the Thais. I do concur 100% with Gaybutton's recommendation of Ben's tours if you go to the North. You will learn far more about the area, and the gay life in Chiang Mai from Ben then you will ever learn from most go-go boys. Great service, great guide---first class all the way.
  4. Not really when you compare it to the cost to society of an abused child. Most of our prisons are filled with abused children, many of them have long term mental and emotional problems, and many others abused children are never able to become completely functional.
  5. For Chiang Mai movies I prefer Mark Gernby's weekly column in the "Chiang Mai mail". http://www.chiangmai-mail.com/current/columns.shtml Mark not only gives his own opinion but will cite other reviewers and gives interesting facts.
  6. Well having spent two years in Vietnam this is easy and not so easy. Having been influenced by the Chinese who ruled Vietnam centuries the Dragon is the lucky symbol. However coins, silk fortune cookies, and fruit can also stand for good luck--both on home alters and during Tet.
  7. Sorry Soi10 but Mormans (who did the Mountain Meadows Massacre) are not considered Christian by the vast majority of non-Morman Christians. The Mormans believe that God and Christ are two seperate and distinct individuals. Sine the Council of Nicea in 325AD the mainstream Christian faith has believed in the three aspects of the one God. God the father, God the son, and God the holy ghost. What the Mormans believed was called the Arian heresy and after 325 and its believers are called heretics not Christian. The Mormans also believe that they will all be Gods when they die with their own planet to rule. Several passages in the old testement and some in the new call this belief wrong and anti-Christian. On your list of church sins you left out the following: 1. A complete distortion of the message of Christ, with whole parts of the new testement edited and important scriptures left out. 2. The assumption of power after the fall of Rome, which lead to a rigid structure of society in which nothing changed for hundreds of years. 3. The failure to recognize truths of science, even when, they themselves could see the proof. 4. The complete lack of morality in the upper levels of the church that lead to the reformation. 5. The religious warfare after the reformation that tore Europe apart for years, and years. 6. The present day hypocricy of the most of the leaders of both the Catholic and Protestant faiths. i.e. Priest screwing Choir boys, ministers preaching against homosexuality and then doing meth with their gay boy friends, etc. etc. etc
  8. I have ridden in Tuk-tuks in several Thailand cities, and the worst in the whole country are in Chiang Mai. I would rather walk then take one of those A.. H...s anywhere in town. However, the song tow drivers are honest and very good! Go figure.
  9. Yes, just what the world needs. A nice plague to wipe out one or two billion people. We will have tp worry less about social security, and world wide starvation that way. Doubt it is planned, but it is alarming.
  10. One thing we agree on. The rev. JJ is just another corrupt homophobic minister/politician who makes most of his money mediating for companies with minority problems. Of course he accepts a fee from the company prior to his mediation.
  11. Ok GB, from now on your may address me as Master and I will do the thinking for both of us. The first thing I need for you to do is send me the deed to your house and turn your bank accounts over to me. If I have to take on the job of thinking for you, I feel I must also take on the task of running all of your personal affairs and managing your household expenses. Don't worry as I intend to budget for all of your needs,. Of course, that will mean a considerable smaller amount of food, for you to eat, as well as, a mandatory program of exercise, and abstinence---both from alcohol and sex. Give me a year and I will have you looking as fit as you did at eighteen and just about as horny. Seriously, my input is that what you are saying about the indifference of youth in the countryside is true, but the red shirts are far from finished and I think the youth will eventually become involved. So on this one we disagree, but time will prove either you or me right. Now, you have my permission to respectfully answer me, but don't forget the sirs and an occasional yes master would be nice.
  12. Hey wait a minute here. I've met some of those weird GOP Log Cabin Republican Types, and they scare they hell out of me, so I too say, "No to gay elephants."
  13. Great report, thanks. Can you tell me more about the Ibis? Is it gay friendly, and does it have a joiner fee? See what I meant about Italian food. Even a French restaurant serves good Italian food.
  14. I did not get there until the very early 2000s, and I may stand corrected on the PI. Wes on another board has had very good luck in the PI, but I found many of the men I met had a bad image of gay even when they would admit they were gay. The other extreme was the loudly out or butch ladyboy. I also discovered hostility in the farang community towards gays and some hostility from the straight Pinoys, but maybe I was unlucky.
  15. This is a tough one. French and Chinese make great food very complex and subtle at the same time.I grew up on a lot of Mexican food, and I still like it, but Mexican food can get old after awile. Thai is way to spicy. No offense to my German. Spanish or English friends, but the food in these countries does not thrill me. So I vote Italian. It is simple but also has complex and subtle flavors and even the simplest Pasta like spaghetti can be made 50 different ways. Viva Italia.
  16. Actually that is only one place in LA that has hookers. There are several other bars with different class of hookers and a different look. I've been in Fubar in LA and been hit up by college age hookers, who are far more real then the beachboys in Numbers. For more of a street lower class hooker you have the Gold Coast. Hookers are everywhere and not necessary poor or low economic status. I think the trade and who is in it depends more on law enforcement, or lack there of, and culture rather then economics. By the way, people are vary poor in the Philippines, but it is not really a good gay destination because of the strong catholic culture. But female hookers are out in the thousands.
  17. I think the Thai governments ability to control the Baht to Dollar ratio is pure bullshit. Yes, I would be willing to bet you will see at least 40 to the dollar soon.
  18. KhorTose

    This is scary!

Very dangerous. Experienced divers wear wet suits even in warm water where the box jellyfish is common. However, to return to my original comment, the jellyfish would never survive in Pattaya's water due to all the other things floating in the water off your beach. If I lived in Pattaya all my swimming would be in a pool.
  19. Exactly, Thailand is actually living proof of Kinsey's Bell shaped curve.
  20. Alaan, I do not believe you will be arrested for being in a bar with underage boys. However, I stay away from those bars because I do not like to see that going on. Some bars have boys 14- and that is just to much for me to be around. Frankly, it pisses me off. Yes, come to Pattaya but check out boys town where I have not seen any underage boys (However, I have only spent 2 week in Pattaya in six years of coming to Thailand), or go to Sunee bars like Happy boys, Crazy Dragon and several others that will not employ underage boys. Just walk in a bar look around, spot the youngest looking boy and ask to see his ID. If he is underage split. That is what I have done on both visits to Pattaya. By the way I hgihly recommend Happy Boys, it is a great go-go bar. Also several good host bars in Sunee and host bars in Jomtien without kiddies in them. Relax...........................................and enjoy yourself
  21. I am a fan of Camel shirts. One of mine has a badge on the pocket. Bet I could scare you to death with that, one--assuming you were doing something wrong, which I know you wouldn't be.
  22. In that case a postal inspector.
  23. Phnom Penh guest house--Manor house bar-- blue nile disco---heart of darkness Siem Reap Guest house--Banana Hotel or 8 rooms Bars--one only Linga Bar Great information on Cambodia on this web site--http://www.utopia-asia.com/tipscam.htm Have fun--I am curious what country you are from?
  24. No Laurence. GB is talking about changeling not slum dogs. Changeling is based on a real story of LA's finest and still somewhat corrupt PD.
  25. No way is that magazine porno. I would be on the phone in an instant and file a complaint. That is homophobia not law enforcement, and you shouldn't stand for it. Somebody in Customs needs to be fired.
