  1. Actually, I made that point. The poster did not go to jail, nor the moderator, it was the owner of the web site. A picture that was offensive was posted. No libel appears to have taken place. My question is why not the ISP owner the site was on, or the poster who did the deed? Let me tell U, only in Thailand.
  2. I will add it to my list as a place to dine, but I would like to know more about the gallery part. What are the paintings on the wall? Do they change(local artist hoping to sell),or do they always stay the same?
  3. Guess what Lvdkeyes, JACHO changed their procedures two or three years ago and now they do not announce their inspections anymore.
  4. The English man was already on the UK's watch list, being in the bar or not, so good riddence. Something sound not quite right about the German's arrest. I would love a follow up
  5. What is new about the latest BBC report is that the Danes have a similar or similar cases. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Danish-Embas...ml#entry2883435
  6. I have almost the same problem as fountainhall, but I can easily see that you are needed elsewhere at this time. Do whatever you can for Allen. I am sure that all of us who have read his PG weekly report and those of you who knew him are wishing for the best possible outcome for Allen, and you are to be commended for being there for him. Only when you have time, do come back.
  7. I have no problem admitting that I believed your were paid for this board and for the web work. I am surprised to find out that you are not, as I would never do that much work for nothing. So I am definitely wrong about that and I have no trouble at all saying sorry. As to the libel law, Bob's answer is perfectly fine with me. However, I still think you handled the whole Lawrence thing wrong and I still believe that on this board you do get a little heavy handed. Your above answer to me is the GB that I have often praised. I just wish I could see that side of you more often on this board.
  8. Someone is going to have to show me how to do multiple quotes. In the meantime, I have highlighed parts of your response to respond to. Do the whole quote, "Your avatar offends me, as that is the way you often act on this board." As to Lawrence nothing he said sounded like he broke a rule. He said a question from an unknown sounded like someone trolling and then he bad mouthed your attitute on his reponse, and said he was leaving. You tell him, "don't let the door hit you in the ass." A word far worse then stupid and then lock the thread. You did not toss Lawence off he left do to your attitude. Not an 800 pound gorilla my ass (an apparently acceptable word.) I would have like to debate and defend Lawrence hard to do with the thread locked. I do not know Thai libel laws as I am not a lawyer and neither are you. In the states, libel is very hard to prove and it is the owner who would be sued. Pardon me if I do not trust your interpretation of the law. Especially when, you are far from the only moderator who lives in Thailand. Ting and Tong has at least two who live here full time and they do not have your restrictions. I believe your position has far more to do with your second income of doing web pages and computer programs/repairs for the bars, then any threat of libel and maybe you would speak to that. Really who are you working for GT or yourself?
  9. I too know GB and agree with everything you say, but reiterate that l find his avatar offensive as that is the way he often acts on this board. I also recognize that it is a very (I repeat very) hard job to moderate a board, and we all make mistakes, but I just wish he would listen when others raise objections to some of his decisions. I know Lawrence and I was very offended when he told him to hit the road. That is the kind of stuff that does divide us. I also know that personally GB is a nice guy, and I have seen him behave himself beautifully on the "Pink" board. I just wish he would do that here.
  10. Yes, but it sure would be nice if you dogmatic statements came with a translator so we knew when what you meant was so different from what you said. I repeat read the highlighted section of your post. It was not only me, but gaysacguy, bob and tpoh and thaiworthy that thought you were overboard on this. Really bad form from someone who is never wrong or willing to admit it. I guess if I don't like it I can hit the road like you told Laurence to. It would sure be nice if you would grow up and drop your 800 pound gorilla act. I am sure this board would be a nicer place.
  11. We were told that. Consistency would be nice.
  12. I did not know you were into S&M. Gee what kind of tip does that take? Thailand is......my home in 57 days 5 hrs and 32 minutes. Thailand is......A place where I can find a large group of very friendly gays from all over the world who share many of my interests. Thailand...is the place where I am going to learn a new culture and language and by doing so keep my mind young, and functional. Thailand is......Where my rescuer personality can find many challenges and opportunities to help others.
  13. The recipe looks great, but I am really struck by the beauty of your grandmother and the character that shows in her face.

    Sorry

Okay, so we are all going back to normal, but what do I do with my boyfriend? Will all of my gay friends disown me once I am normal? I sure hope I do not have to become an evangelical convert and raise children. It is really nice of you to do this, but if it is possible, I would like to just stay myself and go gayly forward.
  15. No
  16. I am a coffee drinker and I live in Seattle the home of most of the worlds coffee companies, and the local mountain grown coffee I buy in Chiang Mai is just as good and may even be better then the best Starbucks, Tullys, SBC or any other coffee company I've tried. Come on live dangerously and try the local coffee. I believe you will be pleasently surprised. Heck I even though of bringing some of it home with me.
  17. A little slow to load, but no problem using MSN Explorer from the states,
  18. I completely agree with GaySacGuy, and I would suggest the poster post this message on a board that realizes that boards are not just a social club, but a network for vital information like provided in the original post. I want to know about all the scams happening in Thailand, from the airport and its duty free shops to bad bars like this one.

    Gay Exorcism

Christianity teaches us to forgive others, as we are all imperfect, and we all make mistakes. Nowhere is this more clear then when Christ on the cross asks his father to forgive those who persecuted him--"as they know not what they do." Every one of us--especially if you are over 50--know what a terrible message this poor kid recieved from this exorcism and the terrible damage, probably permanent damage, done to this child. As far as I am concerned, there is no excuse in this day and age of modern science and psychology to "not know what they have done." I can never be a Christian, as I cannot forgive such brutal actions and terrible ignorance.
  20. The world has lost a great talent. Civility, taste, and propriety prevents me from saying anything else.
  21. I can't quite agree. The pedophiles who molest pre or early post pubescent children should all be put in jail, just to stop them victimizing. I am sure that if you took a vote every person with any kind of compassion would want them off the streets, and be more then willing to pay for it. However, I go along with all of the rest of your idea
  22. I get it but just to pull your chain I will reply "GO GREEN GO YELLOW". Michigan State is too provincial for us real football fans, and I hear Wisconsin has far better weather. PS: Snicker---No - GO BLUE GO WHITE - hehehe
  23. I think it would be a lot easier for love to find you if you speak the language of the country where you are looking.
