  1. I also got an 8, but Bob is a lot friendlier then I am. Of course the friendly guys are always the ones you don't suspect of really being a serial killer.
  2. Is this why we see the "choosen people" behaving so badly towards the Palestinians? There may be another explanation why FH's friend has a swastika in the middle of the star of David.
  3. Read the recent "OUT" magazine article onThailand's leading gay activist Paisarn Likhitpreechakul. Excellant article that is unfortunitely in two parts with part two next month.
  4. Jesus Christ Thaiworthy, this is not a personal contest, but a decussion on what is the best tablet platform. It is not one up on khortose or one up on Thaiworthy. I really wonder if you know what you sound like at times. Other then the great and remarkable improvement to the graphics the rest of the changes are cosmetic. This tablet is heavier just to run those graphics. as it takes a larger battery to give it any battery life at all. I would still buy the Samsung 10.1 as it is smaller, cheaper and runs android, but if you must have an apple the really good deal is the Apple II was has had its price reduced by $100. Dollar for dollar it is a far better value at this moment then its new cousin.
  5. Bob what are you reading? These arn't on the list. My list is from the internet of the 10 most loved/hated movies of the 21st Century (that is the one we have been in for the last 11 years). For the record I loved Dancing with Wolves, but hated waterworld.
  6. Aaahhh, I am going to miss those back row sessions. Okay only dinner and drinks from now on. That is when you finally drag your butt up here and see what a decent Thai city looks like.
  7. You are reading a personal email from the ex movie critic of the UK newspaper "The Gaurdian", not my message/ Hmmm if you watch movies as well as you appear to read....ah well nevermind. I also deny any popcorn spillage, as I was to busy eating my wolf steak (sorry koko). Ten other movies that people and critics have either loved or hated. I think this film is in good company. 10. There Will Be Blood: Love: Blistering Daniel Day performance and a ferocious, meticulously crafted look at the dark side of the American dream. Hate: A tedious bore. I don’t get it. 9. The Social Network: Love: A beautifully scripted, witty and acerbic portrait of Mark Zuckerberg written with typical Sorkin bite. Hate: Unlikable characters, caustic, pretentious overrated hipster catnip. 8. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: Love: Visually daring, furiously over-the-top, hilarious heartfelt ode to geekery. Hate: Blurry, noisy, slick and empty film made for the ADD generation. 7. Love, Actually: Love: Fun, entertaining, cheerful, and irresistibly charming. Hate: Redundant, agonizing, cloying, manipulative, and too sugary. 6. Juno: A sweet, quirky, hilarious, heartbreaking and wise coming of age story. Hate: Hipster bullshit. Tries too hard. Thinks it’s smarter than it is. And NOBODY TALKS LIKE THAT. 5. Napoleon Dynamite: Love: Offbeat, sweet and ultimately moving, with moments of painfully funny slapstick. Hate: An annoying, one-joke movie stretched out into 90 minutes, incredibly unfunny and mind-numbing Wes Anderson wannabe crap. 4. Boondock Saints: Love: Stylishly awesome, spectacularly violent revenge flick. You gotta see it. Hate: Hilariously awful, ridiculous, overblown, style over substance, Tarantino wannabe garbage. Stay away! 3. The Royal Tenenbaums: Love: Quirky, poetic, emotionally pulsating, imaginative, melancholic exploration of family dysfunction. Hate: Overrated, over-hyped, self-indulgent oh-so embarrassingly precious and twee. 2. Lost in Translation: Love: Quiet, perfectly acted, exquisite, sweet and romantic, subtle and transcendently profound. Hate: Nothing happens! It’s so boring and self-indulgent. Am I supposed to feel sorry for these people? Fuck you! 1. Avatar: Love: Genius! An epic fantasy epic, a landmark technical achievement, a spectacular visual achievement! I loved it! Hate: Clunky, overly simplistic moralizing seriously dull piece of garbage. Ferngully! Dances with Wolves! I hated it!
  8. It is not perfect, some small errors, and the reality of wolves and their actions around men are not quite real, but all this does not matter. It is a very well directed movie with a bunch of unknowns, with only Liam being a name, and they all perform in an outstanding manner. I too see the anti-christian theme in that we do not need God to help us, and life is a struggle in which we either meekly accept our fate or put our lives in some higher power, or we fight with our all to survive. We are our own destiny. I truly did love it and agree it borders on greatness. Nevertheless, I do admire Koko, we will just have to go to different movies.
  9. While I am and will always be a admirer of the wisdom of KoKo, I just received this review from a friend of mine who used to be the movie critic for the Gaurdian. Also IMDB gives if a 7.7 which is fairly high. Different strokes for different folks, but now I have to go and see it myslef since I have such differences of opinions from two great people. ////////////////////quote///////////////////////////// Hi :"An odd mail perhaps but since there are SO few decent movies shown in Ch Mai (and generally) when something as remarkable as The Grey comes along ..well..go tell it to the mounatin. It is on (FOR NOW) at both Airport Major and Vista ..theatre 7.. In English with Thai st.. It is so far removed from the radar operated by the Oscar/Bafta lot as to inbit another stratoshere. It is devois of their chosen whimsicality, sentimenatlity, clever imperosnations and tv- fodder offerings in being provocative and daring that it must have shocked them..it si not a movie for middle America or supposters of the Vatican that it seems 'unique'... It owes some debt to Flaherty and Griffith in its landscapes..(the D o P is a near genius)., to Dreyer in its monumental central character and to Malick for its lyrical flashbacks. In fact it made me think of a work by Malick if he was suddenly possessed by demons and took against nature> It's the sort of film John Huston aimed at and always missed and has more in common with Greed than current cinema.. Sadly what it needed was an Ibsen or even just Pinter to elevate it to greatness.....but the director ( of NARC and A TEAM fame!!!?) has the potential for greatness..at least as a technician he already has it...Sadly a team of producers ..enough to form a football team ..including the Scott Brothers have probably made demands..and the presence of a second editor makes one suspicious. The director has been obliged to try and have his cake and eat it, blending a terrific and terrifying action movie with an examination of the paucity of man's endeavours when faced with elemental nature. It also.. and this is what is daring....meditates on death and what may lie beyond. It comes up with an optistic view of man's puny strengths...... but is deeply pessimistic about the likellihood of anything beyond that.. As noted the photography is awesomely harsh and beautiful and never 'pretty'. The soundtrack vibrant and the acting and casting immaculate. It keeps you on the edge of the seat and awake or dreaming frantically after that. I recommend seeing it during the day rather than late as I did if you like to sleep.. If ever they remade Red River or say Cape Fear or The Treasure of the Sierra MAdre they have a director waiting..The best U.S. movie since Tree of Life. Don't miss it.......///////////end of quote---name removed as it was a personal email but PM me if you must have his name, and yes he reviewed films for the Gaudian for years and still does thier obits on film stars-Directors//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
  10. Are you sure the vomitorium wasn't for the terrible popcorn they serve. I've heard good things about the movie, but decided to pass as wolves aren't my thing, unless they do disco.
  11. Come on, tell us what you really thought about the movie.
  12. I and my BF are going, but I do hope I can buy the tickets on-line. I looked at the seating chart and somewhere in the 3500 each is in my range. If anyone has been to this performance hall I would appreciate some advice as to where to sit.
  13. I have gone several times, but I too was with my BF. He grew up there and he did take me to the discos and other action places and we saw very little action. Gay Romeo is probably the best bet as I agree with Bob about the two bars being dingy with little appeal.
  14. You, and the information would be greatly welcomed. Do come back.
  15. . I would have a chance then if the old record is under 10 seconds.
  16. There is a thread on another board with some information: http://www.sawatdee-gay-thailand.com/forum/cheers-hotel-sihanoukville-great-looking-hotel-t25137.html However, I woulde appreciate it if you would come back after your trip and give us YOUR information as this seems like a good place to go, but no one seems to know a lot about the particulars.
  17. Listen, I would not stop anyone from going to a go-go bar., nor would I judge them in any negitive way for going. However, I do not like these bars. I get a very uncomfortable feeling like I am in a meat morket, and I feel like I am in an explotive situation. Therefore, I rarely go, and when I do I really go for the show to see if it has changed. I think from talk and experience that I am not alone with my aversion to these bars, otherwise there would be several hundred more of them and they would not always be going broke and changing names and owners. Different strokes for different folks, but I am giving one answer as to why there are not more of these bars.
  18. Yes, i have to agree with Bob and Thaiworthy on this. If Thailand is good for anything it is definitely good for a major blow job. Hell, lets give it a try.
  19. The correct abbreviation fo Breakfast is Bfest or B'fest.
  20. So do I. I feel sorry for the Thais who do not receive a good HIV education, due to the neglect of their government, but I am totally agast at Westerners and educated Asians who practice unsafe sex. HIV may no longer be a death sentence, but it is still a serious illness often leading to lower life expectency. To be honest, I still think many gays in the West and elsewhere still have low self esteem that leads to risky (self-destrructive) behavior be it unprotected sex, drugs or alcohol.
  21. Jesus Crist Thaiworthy this should not be an emotional decision. I sure hope you do not spend all you money by what you think you like, or have always used. An Apple man! Hell, I'm a tight ass man but I do not intend to buy any new ones while I still have use my old. I mean it may look nice, but I am sure it doesn't work any better then the old one I use now. However, on the other hand a newer one just might be a far better bargain. It often pays to check out the new instead of staying with the old and known. Of course I can't as I am married to the old, but please lets not confuse commitment to a person to commitment to a thing. Fountainhall the new Galaxy will probably be out next month and will probably have greater capacity and you will be able to write on it like the popular Samsung Note. http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-19736_7-57368409-251/samsung-may-have-a-2ghz-galaxy-tab-11.6-for-mobile-world-congress/ http://www.t3.com/news/samsung-galaxy-tab-11-6-release-tipped-for-mwc-2012 Dozens of other articles----just google.
  22. I would go with the Galaxy. Slippery slope or not, there are, and will continue to be more programs written for Android then Apple will ever have and YOU can decide what you want to put on YOUR tab and how YOU want to use it. Personal control is far more important to me then a stable but proprietary platform. However, I would wait for the new Galaxy 11.6.
  23. Come on leopold (et al), GB is not a moderator here anymore and this is not the forum for this stuff. Stay on baht stop where you have a place, or I will send a personal invitation to Nurse nancy to come visit you here.
  24. No different then others I have loved. Janice Joplion, Jimmy Hendricks, Kurt Kolbain, Jim Morrison and i could mention Elvis, but I never liked him that much. For a real eye opening go to this wiki page and see all the drug related deaths among artist. The talent to create and entertain may well have a down side of personality disorders that lead to addictive behavior. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_drug-related_deaths
  25. It is quite common and when I used to date (now married)., I knew I would nevwer get the money back for a "loan: so i would decide in advance, if I wanted to keep in contact, to tell the person I lent (gave) the money too, not to worry about paying me back---consider it a gift.
