I have always been a fan of SF, and Arthur C. Clarke has been one of my favorites since Childhoods End. I too thought both the accusations against him and Pletnev were highly questionable, and agree that something should be done to insure that people or agencies who make such charges without proof are punished as severely as the individuals they blacken.

I am not into man eating sharks, but I do like modern cities, new buildings, museums of aboriginal history, parks, restaurants and beautiful rivers. If nothing else I could always rent a car and travel up and down your beautiful coast line or go into the Western desert to look at some of that amazing geography. The heat would bother me, but you have quite a rainy season there, and my American city is known for its rain so I would feel at home. Besides that I now know someone in Perth to ask for all the best tourist tips----you----hehehe.

Okay your IP address changes with your computer and your location. Your ISP will assign you a number and they have a block based on geography, but in the old days before DHCP your machine was also assigned an IP number. Now the best you can do is locate the area your machine is in unless your yourself are a host. The joke is that there is software out there that can hide, change or trace an IP number so that is not by any means a real test to find out if a user is where he says he is or who he says he is. Even with DHCp if you use a different computer using the same ISP connection you will often get a slightly different IP address. This comes in handy with a place like the New York Times that only allows you to read seven articles free. Just change to your laptop and you get to start all over. I am not an expert on this, but I am sure some one else can provide a better answer. Check with Snapshot.

I am sure if you search you would find he has criticized Baht stop and Ting Tong at other times for various reasons. I think he is funny and I enjoy his wit. Do I agree with everything he says? No way, anymore then I agree with, or find totally funny what any other comedian says. Folks he is trying, and often succeeding, to be witty and funny, and just like most non-professionals he occasionally misses the mark, but if he makes me laugh at all, it is worth it to me. I recommend a everyone take him with a grain of salt, and try not to take anything he says as anything but his attempt at humor. Laugh at what you find funny, and ignore the rest. Just a not to bright variation of "Love it or leave it". Unfortunately the world and reality is never that simple, or that black and white.
