Someone posted what would be the best place in Bnagkok to live. Several posted the area they though would be best. I have had to go to Bangkok for things other than the gay venues, like the Embassy, Hospital, etc. But I have not figured out how to navigate the city. When I drive I use my GPS. But some of my friends have seemed to figure the city out as far as the different areas and what is in the different areas, and how to get around using mass transit. Can anyone point me to a simple map that will help me understand how to navigate Bangkok?

"But, refusal to take control or to feel guilty when doing so is a sure way to guarantee a board will degenerate into a bland domain dominated by a few who come to play. That, of course, is ok if it's what the moderator/owner wants. My hope, of course, is that Scooby will begin to make clear what kind of board he wants and direct his moderators to make it reflect his wishes." RichLB I think RichLB is correct. It is up to the owner and his team to set the tone. But we are not children. Posters here have some great life experiences. Most have made really wonderful posts about Gay Thailand. There was a great sense of community. New posters were really welcomed. The opinions expressed were about, in some way, related to Gay Thailand. Some may give positives about a venue others may see be not as positive. The hardest thing for me to understand is why this board needs such moderation. It seems some are trying very hard to ruin the board. Remember when in high school there was a substitute teacher, it was almost an invitation to some to misbehave. Let's get back to what we know to be right. New members or guests should see this board as the most interesting, informative, fun and welcoming board about Gay Thailand.

Yes, I agree. I really did not notice that as I usually only post on this section. I will follow your suggestion as it makes very good sense.

I learned about 2 hours ago that a really nice guy who has lived in Pattaya for several years has died today in route to the hospital. Some of you may know Matthew. He was young 40's, and had completely rebuilt a 1964 Vespa with side car. One of the bar owners in Sunee Plaza who lived behind Matthew told me that all hospital emergencies rooms in Pattaya were full so he had to be transported to Siracha government hospitals. He flatlined on the way. Matthew had developed pneumonia and was not able to shake it. His friend David is on his way from Canada. As soon as I know if a service will be held, I will let the members know

As I have not done the actual tour yet I can not comment about the guide, however, I have been assured by TOURMANDALAY, that I will have a guide that "Is very knowledgeable about the gay culture....".

I have used this guy 3 times all ready in 2010. He is great. He is very Gay friendly, knows where all the gay venues are, and some non tourist restaurants. Last time I was in Phnom Penh I had a problem with my knees. Walking was difficult so I booked a small room at my hotel ($30). He helped me up and down the steps, found me companionship , and was an all around good guy. His prices are decent. Here are his details: Ya Chea , email: chea.tuktuk@gmail.com, or call him from Thailand, calls are cheap 017773460. He speaks wonderful English and has a great sense of humor!

I have always thought that picture of Geezer being carried by those strong good looking Burmese Boys is a classic. Of course at my size, we will need 8 VERY strong Burmese boys!

Does anyone have any more recent information about this club? I will try to find it when I go there on Sept 24, 2010 and report back.

This bar is one of the oldest in Pattaya. It also has some of the oldest dancers in Pattaya. The owner is very loyal to his workers so you'll see some that have been working maybe 15 years. This used to be one of the most popular boy bars in Pattaya. On many nights they have a cabaret show starts around 1130 or midnight. Some people think it is a very good show. Most of the dancers for the cabaret part are from two of the large lady boy cabarets, Tiffany and Alcazar. The owner of this bar is one of the driving forces in Pattaya. The bar fine is 300 baht and the drinks are 150 baht. I have found that it is usually a little bit harder to get information on each individual dancer. But if you're new to Pattaya. You certainly want to check out this bar.

Playboys is another go-go bar on Pattayaland three. As far as directly across the street from funny boys. The boys in this bar are about the same age as those in funny boys about 22 years old and older. In my view, most of the boys in toy boys are a little bit more macho. This bar however allows customers to smoke in the air conditioned bar. This is one of the negative things for me. The bar fine is 300 baht and the drinks are 150 baht. The waiters are not very attentative.. I also find that when you ask about each of the dancers the mamasams will not always tell you the truth. However, this is another one of the bars in town where it pays to take a look.

As you enter Pattaya land soi three from 2nd Rd. you will see funny boys bar on the right hand side. This bar is a go-go bar and is always very clean. They always have a large number of boys on hand. Most of the boys are probably 22 years old or older. This bar as well air-conditioned and no smoking is allowed inside. The bar fine to take away a boy is 300 baht. The drinks average1 50 baht. The Mamasam at the bar is named Rose. He does a very good job making sure that everyone is comfortable and is there to tell you all about every boy. In my view funny boys is one of the cleanest friendliest bars in boys town.

Since there might be several new members from Facebook I thought I would start some Post about the different venues in Pattaya. To make it easier for people to search, I will make each post about each venue separate. I hope other people than will make comments about these venues.

this has become a real problem. It is a shame that some people feel that this is either funny or a way to get back at the employers. It cost the airline quite a bit of money for security and it really inconveniences the passengers. I guess it can't be stopped, but when the people that do this are caught......is Gitmo still open.

as far as the price of the bars go, everything is negotiable. Before I would pay any money I would check to see if the rent has been paid out. If the rent is not paid I imagine the owner of the building would be happy to rent the space out. Indeed spaces the business owners do not own the building. They may have already defaulted on their lease. So what is it that you are paying for from the owners. No customers no license no employees. So what does the 400,000 get you?

One of the things that sort of got me hooked on reading the meaasage board several years ago was that I had been receiving a news letter called the Pattaya Gay Report back when Allen Briggs as GayPattayan published it, Even though the name would focus on Pattaya, the report covered other cities and travel ideas inside Thailand. There maybe several that just read the board (I received 2 PM from people that I haven't seen post) about travel to Burma

Great pictures TJ. Does anyone remember the contest that was run several months asking people to submit new names for Marine Plaza? I never heard the results or what happened. I see the name was never changed. Can anyone add to this?

Yesterday, I had to go to "Future Mart" by the Montien Riverside Hotel on Rama III. I went up the steps to where the new BTS express bus has just started running and saw 2 soldiers there also. Today in the Bangkok Post the lead was about the continuation of the Emergency Degree. So it could be that the Government is being very cautious.

Suspected Child Sex Ring Uncovered in Gay Porn Busts
PattayaMale replied to TotallyOz's topic in Gay Thailand
I also remember when Utopia, a travel agency in Bangkok, at the Tartarwan(sp) hotel was shut down for arranging sex tours. Actually it just provided tours to Thailand for gay men. The evidence provided was the magazine that was a predecessor of Spice, which only had ads from the clubs in Thailand. No nude or underage models. This was porno according to the authorities.
