Since the market is down the middle of what I'd thought was a public street, I'm curious how it could be private property? I suppose someone could own property and put a paved street through it, but then how does that work with city ordinances? Anyone know?

Suriwong Road Walk - Soi Twilight - October 16, 2016
baobao replied to TotallyOz's topic in Gay Thailand
The Smokin' Pug looks interesting, thanks... I'll try it next time I'm in town. It's not much of a walk from either the Chong Nonsi or the Sala Daeng BTS stations. The site says they're taking a few weeks off after the birth of a son. http://www.smokinpugbbq.com/ [i see this was covered in a thread I'd missed, but hopefully it's worth repeating] -
Ooh... a fan! Thank you. I was just stating a well known fact, but as long as you're indexing my posts here (or any of the 800+ on my blog), show me where I've stated I've had sex with a Paid Admirer in Thailand, would you? I'll wait. But, back on topic - it looks like the HRH the Prince is going to take a break before becoming Rama X. http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/13/asia/thailand-crown-prince-king-dies/

If it's totally about sex for you, good... be safe and have at it. Merely being a member of this forum doesn't make one a sex tourist. What you or anyone else says in a different thread doesn't enter in to it in this one. This thread is about a nation in mourning. Just my two satang.

I'm assuming it's because that's the commercial part of the site. As I understand it,the forum is a separate entity.

That line's been around - attributed to different people in different forms - for decades. Most recent I'd heard was in John Lennon's song in 1980. Numazu does have a flair for spinning a tale, though. Your "creative writing" guess may be closer to the truth than you think. I'm enjoying the pictures - thanks!

Any Hotels or rooms WITHOUT 24hr reception bangkok and pattaya
baobao replied to a topic in Gay Thailand
He's correct about the "all night" part... the music can still be booming at 0500. I enjoyed BDM for a few stays - the rooms, the staff, the owner, the location, the price - but that karaoke was what got me booking elsewhere. -
That's good advice for anything over a hand job. Getting head without a condom on isn't nearly as pleasurable as receiving it without, but if your masseur has taken a (viral) load from an infected customer recently, you're at risk yourself. I know, I know... everyone has their own acceptable level of risk, but tahomatom05 did ask. It's lamentable how many people think they're actually with "new boy, just start today, can do all" That said, tahomatom05, use the big head to think with, and have fun!

I'd suggest calling your home branch and asking (home branch being where you opened it, and where your signature card is). Some years back I learned from my bank that IF the ATM card has a VISA or M/C logo on it, it's not strictly an ATM debit card. I requested a new card without the VISA connection, and got it.

I feel badly for anyone who gets ripped off, but I'm a little surprised that it happened to you. A first-timer might be less cautious, but you'd said in your "Ask a former money boy anything" thread that you were in the business yourself ("I have worked all over the USA, Europe, Tokyo, and a little bit in Thailand back in the day"). But again, sorry if you were taken advantage of.

We didn't speak about that again, and (unfortunately) I lost track of him some 15 years ago. I, too, have heard a few Thai joke about death since, but not when it's been an actual possibility like it was coming down that mountain. Almost no rationale behind most superstitions, I suppose.
-
A few superstitions I've encountered in Thailand that come to mind: 1) stepping on the threshold in a doorway... always step over it 2) going to bed to sleep with wet hair is bad luck 3) joking about dying in a risky situation (story here) 4) geckos in your home are good luck 5) no haircuts on Wednesdays It's seemed to me over the years that superstitions can be cultural, regional, village specific... all the way down to within a family.

Here's one more wishing you the best of luck with your recovery. Medical advances have been an encouragement to many, I'm told.

Nice to see something on the success of athletes from a country other than our own! Here in the US we're all too often given reports on what our beach volleyball teams had for lunch, instead of who's winning medals for other countries. Good on you, Sinphet... I bet your grandmother was proud of you.

I seriously doubt this was the discussion z909 had in mind when he started the thread, but it does give me the opportunity to use an image again that's been on holiday for a few years...
-
Perhaps that's because they're checking the time on their cell phones Nice share, ryanasia... thank you.

Agreed... I time to fill for a couple of days not long after it was open and rolling and found the selection of stores, items and people-watching all to my liking!

I used to tip 30-40Bt per day, but I've upped that since then. I leave it on near the foot of the bed, usually with a note. There's a post about it here... http://khunbaobao.blogspot.com/2013/04/tips-of-trade-or-reaping-what-we-sew.html

Run? I didn't run the last time I was shot at! Well, point of fact I did... it was after an unpleasant run-in with a bartender in Tijuana 40+ years ago, but my knees don't take kindly to it any more. Morning is a great time for as brisk of a stroll as you'd care to take there, though, and the moving scenery can be impressive. I do it most mornings when I'm in Bangkok. Evenings can be warmer, and more crowded.

My (litttle) gay massage experience and my mistakes (and questions)
baobao replied to tatar's topic in Gay Thailand
Since most of them are bodybuilders and work to improve or maintain their bodies, many seem intent on looking at THEMSELVES in the mirrored back wall more than the customers. Maybe hang a mirror on the front of your shirt? Thanks for sharing your story, by the way! -
A fish in a fishbowl has no privacy... everyone around it can see what it's doing. Some folks don't wish to have people see them with an off at their hotel.
-
May your luck improve, muscfair. I've rarely heard of such experiences from folks, unless it's been something furtive in the rest rooms at Big C.
-
I'd guess most of the bottoms visiting wouldn't dream of skipping a "prostrate" prostate exam - or a bent over one - or a doggy style one - or perhaps up on top? Happy holidays, all. Be safe!

That's a great suggestion, colmx, thanks. I do a bit of preventative cleaning at each place I check into, but had never thought of looking to see if this step was possible. Basic disinfecting of things you can be sure are rarely (if ever) cleaned is smart, I think, and only takes five minutes, tops. I offer a post about it here: http://khunbaobao.blogspot.com/search/label/Health

Blue House Massage (Soi Daynight 2) is Reopen on August 07, 2015
baobao replied to a topic in Gay Pattaya
You could always call the shop and ask (or talk to the receptionist), but I can't imagine why not. A fair tip for a job well done should be acceptable... works for me, anyway.
