    Tip or no tip

On my first trip to LOS I went with a gay tour group and was introduced to the Thai concept of Phu Yai (
  2. I believe these are the same thing But I see your point.
  3. You're right, I shouldn't dismiss them as money boys, but it does tell me a lot about their thinking if they're in such a hurry that a "mai pen rai" or "OK, bye" is too much to offer in reply.
  4. I've visited GR regularly for a few years. I'm in USA and haven't been to LOS since 2008. What I have noticed is a change in thai boys and their assertiveness on GR. At first, I was the contactor and never got a IM except as a response to an IM I initiated, now, I can't spend an hour on GR without 3-4 Thai guys contacting me asking, "Can I meet you now?" Believe me, it hurts to have to say I'm not in Thailand, but to their credit, some will offer their email or mobile numbers for when I get a chance to return. The others, who end the convo there I'm sure are just after quick cash, so I make a mental note to avoid them in the future. I attribute most of the change to the drop in tourism I read about on the board and elsewhere, but could be wrong.
  5. I agree. There is a boy posting on Gay Romeo today in the Pattaya section: "I come from Thailand, I want sex ,I am gay queen.I am young boys. in Profile , I age 19 year , but , now I age 16 year , because , applying for member must age 18+" Raises so many red flags as we say in the U.S. but is this desperation or just adolescent not thinking on the poster's part?
  6. I've noticed a few pic posts on gboysiam where the profile lists the age as young as 15. Some are nude and even show erections. I know that Thais often look younger than their chronological ages, but the pics I've seen don't look like the guys are THAT young. I for one wouldn't take a chance, but if these guys are trying to attract dates, why would they list such young ages? Could it be some sort of sting, or ...?
  7. Wow great advice! As someone who is alergic to Penicillian, I've been fored to take antibiotics all my life. Never had a doctor recommend tprobiotics and always had stomach problems after taking until a friend who was into nutrition recommended them. Now, whenever I have to pick up a prescription for an antibiotic I also pick up a bottle of probiotics that I start the day before the end of the course of abntibiotics.
  8. Is it just me, or does this explanation seem very "coming of age" erotic? Why is it so hot in here all of a sudden?
  9. Online translators Tahi/English still have a long qway to go in my book. I was looking at a few profiles on gayboysiam and they read like somew sort of psychadelic Haiku. Here are a few translations straight from Google translation: Ramindra boring toilet three other great puppet talk Sukhothai are crazy people that I talk about silk. Find intimate past with fraud Who would buy that ... my heart be lonely Never to sell services or even purchase Lose out to eat for gossip Get a backpack. Find offense only. Find what is not fun to do together on a very simple one row houses nearby. Single White Tee looks normal. Not bad habits, just not compatible with tattoos or hair much better I Sexy. Cut a simple casual favorite people lets get to it. Oh, and before anyone comments, yes, I know these don't actually qualify as Haiku
  10. Hmmmmm ... is "stale buns" a reference to pushy mamasans or over-the-hill go-gos?

    Korean Airline

If you are a Delta Skymiles member, be careful flying Korean. I took Korean a few years back and for some reason that I cannot recall, the travel agent cut the ticket as KE not DL even though it was the same planes and everything. Well, when I got back from LOS I found out that DL would not credit me any FF miles for the trip! DL told me the only way they credit miles on KE is if it is considered a regularly scheduled DL flight. Now that DL and NW merged and DL has the old NW routes to BKK, it may be even more difficult to get DL miles flying on KE, but I'm only speculating. I will say one thing for KE, I've never seen flight attendants check the lavs and replenish them as much as they did on KE, including stocking them with loads of toothbrushes.
  12. If that's the case... I'll stay far away thank you! I take my ice in cube form with my bourbon, and deal with enough meth heads at work. Thanks for that clarification.
  13. Geez! Here I thought it was a handle to make it easier to carry that six pack back to the hotel
  14. I'm inclined to agree with Associate. I, too, am guessing the boy meant no off fee. I have to constantly remind myself that even though a boy may speak English relatively well, I doubt he appreciates Western cultural context. I liken this to here in the USA (or anywhere for that matter) when a bellman comes up and asks, "Can I take your bags, sir?" or when I take advantage of "free valet parking", even though both of those are theoretically free services offered, I know the bellman or valet will expect a tip and don't think of it as a con job. If he was an honest kid, and provided useful information, I would consider him an entrapreneur! Just another point of view
  15. I haven't been able to get back to LOS for almost 2 years now. Recently, I've seen some posts on Gay Romeo, RateFun and gboysiam that gave me wonder. These posts are all from boys (not sure if money oriented) who reference "Hi, High or Height" sex. Coming from the U.S.,my first thought was drugs, but then I remembered that before my first trip to Thailand I had chatted with a thai guy online who asked about me and I said I was a "fun loving guy" (in a purely innocent sense). Well, I discovered I had offended him and was told by another boy from Thailand that "fun" is used by the shy Thai boys to mean sex. With the stiff penalties for drug use in Thailand, I have a hard time believing that these guys are now so openly suggesting that they enjoy party sex, but could it be? I would appreciate clarification from those who may be more in the know. If it is a reference to drug use, these are definitely guys I would want to stay away from!
  16. I would respectfully disagree with English speakers being the exception rather than the rule. Sometimes it does matter what room you enter, but I have chatted with many college students and hotel/service workers who chat there to improve their English skills (among other things). I haven't been able to get back to Thailand in over a year due to some family concerns, but I have never had a hard time finding more than a few guys in each room to (easily) converse with. There's 12 hours difference between US Eastern and Thai time. I'm mostly on in the (my) mornings before work - 7 Am-12 Noon USA East time. I've never been good with pickup lines, but if I see someone I would like to chat with I usually IM with, "Sawasdee krab, how r u?" If they reply totally in Thai I know I am in trouble. If it takes 3-4 minutes for a reply and there are strange words in the reply, assume they are using some translation software, on the other hand, I find more than a few who reply in good basic English. I've even had more than a few IM me first asking if I would speak English with them. English speaking Thai boys may not be the rule on Camfrog, but neither are they the exception in my experience. I do find that if I use little Thai language, the boys seem to open up more and become friendlier. I use it as a small show of respect for them and their country, and that I'm not just a ugly falang user.

    Day Night area

Or the bars where the boys are checking for messages on their mobile phones. I can't remember which bar, but one has a pic of a boy doing just that on the bar's web site. Makes me really want to visit that bar
  18. Like a 4-year-old eh? OK, I'll give it a try. Today's lesson is brought to you by the letters C A M F R O and G and the numbers ... well, you get the picture. A couple things about camfrog to know... you increase your chances of chatting and connecting if you have a webcam. In some looms if you are a "Lurker" (without a cam) you will be "kick out", and if you try it multiple times, you can be permanently barred from participating in that room. Trust me on this one, if you have a cam just sit tight, boys will be coming to you! Next... you can pay a one-time fee for camfrog pro that allows you to open multiple winows (100 cams the Thais call it) within a room and carry on multiple conversations at the same tme. Otherwise, with free camfrog, you can chat with one person at a time in any given room. Some Thai moderators don't like falang with "100 cams" others will users might ask you for your code if you are a pro user, "I give you good show if you give me code." I'll assume, like most 4-year-olds you can figure out how to sign on/in So, if we start with the chat room list, at the top you'll see a drop down menu, left click on it and find "Thailand" further down you will see 4 tabs in green, select "18+". There you will find a list of adult looms, most of the ones you will want to visit have Gay in the title and all are written in English, so it's pretty easy for us Falangs. Alternately, you can select "join chat" to go to a specific room if you know where you want to go. One I would recommend is "Gay_Chonburi_Club_Za" When you enter a room some will ask you to agree to the terms of the room which are all written in Thai, I automatically click "yes" and hope to hell I haven't signed my life away. On the far right side you will see 3 gategories: "Visble Users" lists the parson(s) whose cams you have opened, if you have done so, "Hidden users" lists people with a cam in the room with whom you can chat, and "Lurkers" people just hanging out without their own cam. "Sorry my cam broke today." Scrolling your mouse over any of the names will give you basic info: User Name, Sex, Cam/No Cam, Status, age and Pro/No Pro user. To open someone's cam, just left click your mouse on their name. If you want to chat with someone, right click on their name with you mouse, a pop-up menu will give you several options: View Webcam, Add to (your)Contact List, IM User, View Profile etc. Left Click you mouse on "IM User" and a chat window will open. The rest is just like any chat program - Windows Live, Gay Romeo etc. Users have the ability to block other users from contacting them. If you are blocked 3 times within a certain time period, you can be kicked off the board temporarily. And that boys and girls is how you use camfrog and live happily ever after. Seriously though, I use it a lot. I find more and more boys with their own computers and Internet who are students or employed in some way. Many of the bar boys use Internet cafes like on GR. Some give you a little look see, others will do a complete no holds barred show. Some will ry the same bull they do in person, "Water Buffalo just die, mama in hospital..." Some ask for money for rent or food, but mostly it's a good time, I think. Hope this helps!
  19. I have found some nice boys at Royal Garden, along Beach Road betwen Walking Street and Royal Garden after 9 pm usually, and after 1 AM in Boys, Boys, Boys in the "dancing" area to the left of the main oom as you walk in.
  20. Only reason I can see for someone to be embarrassed is if they are taking an underage boy off, otherwise, "no probrem!" One reason, like staying at the Mik Hotel, is that the desk staff there are much better at examining ID cards. They saved me potential trouble from fake IDs a couple of times. Although the idea of taking 3 boys at once sounds intriguing
  21. Maybe I'm wierd, but when I see a repeat of something posted before and I'm not interested, I find it a lot quicker to point my mouse at my scroll bar or back arrow and pass on to the next question rather than pitching a fuss, as I type real slow and it takes time to create a post. In the past, I have tried to search for previously asked questions and found that maybe 6 to 12 months had passed since the last response to that question. So most times I appreciate when a question is repeated. Some of us can only get to Thailand once a year or less, and a lot changes between visits.

    Hotel in Pattaya

I've always stayed at the Mike Hotel which is around the corner from Boyztown. It's above the Mike Department Store and colocated with Mike Billiards, Mike Massage and Mike Beauty Parlor. It's not gay but gay friendly. It's not gorgeuos but the suites are spacious as are superior rooms. What I like most is the staff. Very friendly. They've saved me a lot of hassles and a lot of money. They check ID cards carefully and will advise if something is suspicious. They will also give you an accurate idea what you should pay the baht busses to various locations. My last trip I had some medical procedures scheduled at Bangkok Pattaya hospital. The desk clerks told me not to pay more than 150 bht each way, but outside drivers wanted 1100 - 2000 bht, obviously because I am farang. It's also a short walk to Sunee. You can catch a baht bus to Jomtien on Beach Road not far from the beach road entrance to the dept store. Boat Bakery is across the street with cheap but very good Thai and European food. American breakfasts are about 85 bht if I remember correctly. On my first trip there I had booked with Tours to Paradise. Their Thai guide advised to put a couple hundred baht in an envelope and present it to the desk staff at check out at the end of my stay. It's more a show of respect than a financial windfall for the staff, but when I did, I was not forgotten on my next trip. In fact, they gave me a handful of keys and let me pick out the room I preferred for myself.
  23. For me, guys who smell like they just finished smoking an entire pack of cigarettes. I'm a former smoker, but snuggling up to a boy's mouth and having it smell like the smoke stack of an incinerator, just blows the hell out of my mood.
  24. IMHO - I would also suggest trying out camfrog - http://www.camfrog.com . Go to the drop down box in the upper right corner that list countries/areas. click on Thailand from the drop down then check the 18+ tab under video chat rooms. I would suggest getting to know a few boys before making any proposal. After a few days/weeks online you'll soon find out who is out for money only and who is a regular. I find more college students on Camfrog. The prospect of making some steady money in the evenings and having the day free go to class can be an inducement. You might also find some "boys" who work in legit establishments like hotel night clerks who could use the extra money, as many hotels have been struggling with low bookings and staff are paying the price. I've met many nice boys this way who are waiting for my next trip to Pattaya and have yet to ask for anything in advance.
