  1. I used to stay at one of the Boyztown hotels. For my last 3 trips to Pattaya, I have stayed at the Avani Resort Pattaya. It's on 2nd Rd a few block's walk to Boyztown. It is a 4-5 star property. No problem bringing guests. I typically pay in the $90-95 USD range including a fabulous buffet breakfast for 2. Easy to get to Jomtien via tuk tuk. If you decide to stay there, I'd recommend joining their frequent guest program, GHA Discovery I think it is. I ended up getting 20% off food & beverage with the free membership. I was there twice last week for stays of 3 days each.
  2. I was in BKK last July. I stayed at the Ibis Styles Silom. It's about 4 blocks from Sois 2 & 4/Patpong. My king room included b'fast for 2. Room wasn't that large, but bathroom & shower were. They seemed to serve a lt of Japanese visitors as the buffet b'fast decidedly featured Japanese food. I didn't bring anyone back to the hotel, but I did have a guy visit me. He had no problems getting to my room. https://www.ibisstylesbangkoksilom.com/
  3. I was in Pattaya and BKK end of July & 1st week of August. I used Grindr. In both cities (plus a side trip to Siem Reap) within 5 minutes of signing on to the hotel's WiFi I had at least 15 messages from locals, MB and non-MB. The messages were persistent throughout my entire trip. I had no difficulty at all connecting with interested locals.
  4. I was in Pattaya end of July and 1st wk of August. I went online on Grindr and found many willing guys. Turns out all were from Jomtien bars, but they were willing to deal directly with potential customers when they were not working. So there were no off fees. I met several guys that way including two 3-somes. In fact, I didn't visit a single bar this trip. Been-there-done-that on previous trips, but this time there was no problem finding lots of guys solely using Grindr.

  6. My excitement over returning to LOS after a 13 year absence got the best of me. I thought you meant a "pleasant" surprise. Silly me!!!! 🫢
  7. OMG, that thought never occurred to me, but it makes sense. Thanks for the inf and saving me some embarrassment 🫣
  8. I came across this listing on the Internet. The name is listed as Phoenix Tom Boy Club. The sign in the background of their Facebook page says Phoenix Tomboy Club. I searched the forums and find no mention of this place. I could find no address or hours of operation on their Facebook page. Lots of photos and short video clips of very handsome twink types. https://www.facebook.com/phoenixtomboyclubpattaya/videos/2818690685103315/ Anyone know of this place? Does it still exist? Thanks! I travel back to LOS in 2 days!
  9. Thank you both for your suggestions
  10. I used to enjoy doing breakfast at the Boat Bakery on 2nd Rd. It was a hoot watching the old lady chase the waiters around with a cleaver to prevent them from stealing tips (all tips in the bin were to go to the house). Just wondering if they survived the pandemic as I will be staying near there. If not, any suggestions for a good, reasonably priced breakfast near there? Thanks in advance!
  11. It's been a while since my last visit, but I also found that a particular bar can be great one night, and a real dud the next.
  12. I just came across a facebook page for Toys Up club & Karaoke. I never heard mention of it, but as the photo shows, there are boys with numbers, does that mean offable?
  13. Kop Khun Maak, forrestreid, I will definitely check them both out!!
  14. Hard to believe it's been 8 yrs since my last trip to LOS. Now, after overcoming some major health issues, I have a visit scheduled for end of July. My birthday will be spent in Pattaya & I will travel alone. l remember from previous visits that there used to be gay karaoke places in Pattaya. If memory serves me there was one in the Day-Night area. I haven't read a thing about karaoke in some time. Do they exist or did Covid wipe them out? I was thinking of finding a few locals and inviting them for music, drinks and maybe some fun. I fear that plan is just a pipe dream. Can anyone comment on the existence of Karaoke in Pattaya these days? Thanks in advance for any comments.
  15. To Vinapu, Keithambrose, & macaroni21 - thanks all for sharing your information. I am growing moire excited every day for this trip.
  16. Will be heading to LOS end of July. A Thai restaurant owner near me suggested a side trip to Siem Reap. I've got a 4-day stay planned. I keep hearing of things quoted in dollars. Is that U.S. $$? Is it easy to pay in US$ rather than exchanging for local currency? Thanks in advance!!
  17. Thanks for the suggestions. I checked them out and ultimately opted for the Apsara Residence Hotel. It's across the river from Pub St, and I got a double room, king bed with private pool that includes airport p/up and bfast for 2. I travel in August. I found a rate much cheaper than the one listed above. Thanks again for the advice.
  18. Planning a trip to LOS end of July with a side trip to S.R. So far I've been looking at 3 hotels and know only what's on the booking sites. Could use some help they are: Central Suites Residence $258/4 nites, junior suite adjacent to shopping mall, walk to Pub St. Apsara Residence Hotel $457/4 nites King double w/private pool. across the river from Pub St. Embassy Angkor Sites $612/4 nite Executive Suite w/private pool suite is over 1k/sq ft, further out but supposedly offers free shuttle to Pub St. area All 3 include free bfast for 2 and airport pick-up. Thanks in advance for any advice!
  19. Prior to 2019 the FAA received approximately 150 complaints of passenger violence/rage annually (FAA stats). The last 2 years that number rose to over 1000 each year. And that only covers USA complaints. In my mind, simply banning someone from future flights isn't enough. If a passenger is found responsible for engaging in violent behavior, I think they should have to compensate all other passengers on board for delays and inconvenience. The typical B737 holds 180-220 passengers. If each one on board received $100.00 USD that would cost the culprit $18,000 to $22,000. A B777 holds 440 passengers, if full that's $44000. If I and others are inconvenienced by some jerk causing trouble, I think our time is worth something beyond the ban of the unruly passenger.
  20. I renewed mine, sent it in on January 11th and had it back in my hands February 10th, expedited US Passport service. I was surprised.
  21. I have seen some of these videos on the Internet, but never knew whee they were located as I am one of those who do not read Mandarin. Reminded me of some of the old clubs in Pattaya many years back. The ones in the videos were referred to a Toc Lon Clubs. For those intrigued, here are a few samples: (I did not take the videos!) https://www.xvideos.com/video47361695/naked_chinese_boys_in_karaoke https://www.xvideos.com/video31999975/thac_loan_club_gay_chinese_new https://www.xvideos.com/video36362799/chinese_boys_in_club
  22. Even though I've been to Thailand multiple times, I am no expert on Thai culture, but I have been in the mental health field since early 80's, financial problems rarely are the cause of suicides. Family problems can be a contributing factor especially when the individual is isolated from their family or are seen as an outcast. The 3 factors reported in study after study are: 1) Loneliness/isolation, 2) "Thwarted Belongingness" - not feeling accepted by others/society, and 3) perceived "burdensomness". According to Thomas Joiner, a leading researcher on suicide, it is often the feeling like a burden that pushes the individual over the edge. Suicide rates have gone up with the pandemic. I suspect Thailand lacks some of the social safety nets available in the West like dedicated suicide hotlines or walk-in mental health clinics that can often prevent someone on the brink from taking that last step. Cluster behavior is often also associated with suicide rates.
  23. I subscribe to "The Points Guy" Travel e-newsletter here in the states. They just posted an article about TAT seriously considering waiving the quarantine requirements for travelers that can prove they have gotten the vaccine and can sow a negative test result prior to travel to LOS: Thailand plans to waive quarantine requirements for vaccinated travelers (thepointsguy.co.uk)
  24. I can never figure out that quote thing, especially this late at night: I'm heading to San Diego next month for a conference, so I can't say anything with certainty about these two which may be to your liking, they are listed in San Diego : http://www.boyscort.com/sandiego-escorts/760-349-0787/?pid=21431679 http://sandiego.backpage.com/MaleEscorts/young-man-looking-for-a-real-man/21512629
