  1. I am a regular at Power Boys. There are no underage boys dancing there. Several years ago the owner paid a dear price for the mistake and has learned a lesson. I also would not patron a bar with underage for ALL of the reasons enumerated above. And mamasan, Nat, is not there. It is a fun bar with nice boys.
  2. Two years ago, bf and I travelled to Cape Town for our wedding. We stayed at the Purple House and the hosts (a gay couple from the Netherlands) were absolutely marvelous and even served as our witnesses. The wedding was on their roof top with Table Mountain as the backdrop. The trip was memorable as was the wedding. Highly recommend a trip. A pure joy and the people are some of the friendliest in the world.
  3. CEREMONY FOR CHARLIE MERCER TUESDAY, DECEMBER 8 3:00 P.M. WAT BUN SAMPHAN (soi Khao Talo)
  4. link to cnn article... http://edition.cnn.com/2013/11/26/world/asia/thailand-protests-explainer/index.html?hpt=hp_c1 Interesting read.
  5. Bob, is that ING or IMG? I have IMG and am curious if there is another vendor entitled, ING. The "pre-existing coverage" can be tricky and very often and loosely applied by insurance companies.....obviously an easy way out of paying. Ask Michael the next time you see him about the "pre-existing condition game" he experienced.
  6. The preception is the same in the USA. Tear drops appear mostly on convicts and gang members (or at least, this is the perception) It would be an interesting study to see the difference in your reception at the USA border crossing by their personnel to you with AND without a tear drop. I am just guessing, but I would expect that there would be a demonstrable difference in their greetings to you.
  7. What is even more confusing is finding the Fire Exists. Next time there....try it.
  8. Michael.......... When you have that coffee or breakfast be wary of any pre-existing conditions. I will PM you regarding your experience with IMG.
  9. Jomtien left the board?
  10. A friend here in Thailand has been attempting to buy a Jaws Of Life. Either new or used. Anyone have an idea where he should look?
  11. Z909.......so even though he was underage, he had a work permit?
  12. http://www.bangkokpo...ld-back-torrent Ooooops!!!!! My mistake. They are from this year !
  13. hmmm....title says it all! Headline in today's Bangkok Post: Rain forces end to eastern drainage test http://www.bangkokpo...n-drainage-test And, aren't those new water-pushing machines just adorable?
  14. AND it is not just places like DJ to be concerned about. Think about emergency exitting the next time you on are the top floor of MBK (and any venue for that matter).
  15. A good idea for American expats and travelers... The Department of State encourages U.S. citizens living overseas or planning to travel abroad to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program. http://travel.state.gov/
  16. Well, as Gomer Pyle (or was it Goober) used to say: "surprise, surprise, surprise."
  17. MasterCard -- Priceless
  18. YaYa Bar opened in June 2010.
  19. The "Sunee Tattler" has reported seeing Monty last evening being escorted by the current owner about The Corner Bar and "kicking the tyres." Could this be the new Monty's? Could the Barmy Army HQs be re-established? Strictly a rumour. But an interesting rumour indeed.
  20. two observations/questions: #1. Any count on Iranians? #2. "As a result, I just don't place much faith in any official tourism statistics!" Now why in the world would you not have faith in ANY statistics released by the Thai government?
  21. I can understand the importance of keeping the board's software up-to-date. However, I think it is just as important to keep "content" up-to-date. For example, if you go to City Guides (which I would suspect is viewed quite often) it is woefully out-of-date. Again as an example, within the City Guides if you click on Phuket Bars you get the same as when you click on Pattaya Bars...which are mostly bars in Bangkok. The same with hotels, restaurants, etc. I would suggest that if you do not keep it up-to-date, then get rid of it. The same observation applies to all areas on the board (and for that matter, ANY board or website.)
  22. It is possible and such behavior is very unhealthy.
  23. Bob.....you are absolutely correct!! And TJ only knows it is correct because he copied off your test paper. lol
  24. KJUN12: "Some guys just get and "F" in spelling, grammar and sentence structure." I believe the correct word is: Some guys just get a "F" in spelling, grammar and sentence structure. Sorry, don't mean to be pedantic.
