  1. I liked the NYT article. Now, I have to order a few books to read! Thanks.
  2. I guess I didn't write much of it in the past few years which is a shame. I have been there over 300 times. It is one of my favorite places. I have Thanksgiving there each year. They have it done up buffet style just like in the USA. It is a hard ticket to get as you have to arrive early. It is the best American Thanksgiving in Bangkok. I have also ordered the entire feast from them several years. They prepare a whole turkey with all the fixings. I lived across from the place for one year and went there at least weekly. Tuesday nights, they have a Mexican buffet (all you can eat). Check the site for details. But, their food is excellent and the place has great staff. I have probably eaten there more than any other place in Bangkok. When I get invited to a party, I order a whole pecan pie. It is 1,000 baht but always the rave of the party! They deliver to me. They delivered the entire Thanksgiving meal last year and I enjoyed it for a week.
  3. It was a fluke for me. I was meeting friends at Bourbon Street for their Breakfast. I love that place! And, they suggested we try a new place that had been delivering to them during Covid19. I went and tried it and was not only impressed with the food but the work they put into making this a beautiful place to eat. The prices were reasonable but I had leftovers for 3 meals. All were excellent. I wanted to try the Bacon Cheesecake but I was full! Next time.
  4. It was Friday night. Busy might have been over selling. People there and not dead was more accurate. There were quite a few tables in all those places occupied on Soi 4. Jupiter wasn't busy but not empty. Better than I have seen in a long time. I have not been back since Friday but it made me optimistic and glad to be here as I know there are tons of sexy guys there all waiting for me!
  5. I ate at a new place this week called Ash Kickers. They have great dinners but they are also serving breakfast on weekends. I had the sausage and biscuits with brisket. It was delicious. The food was excellent and the location was easy to find. It is down the same soi as Bourbon Street, Soi 63, Ekkamai BTS (not an easy walk but possible). The owners are lovely and from the USA and they have spent a great deal of time renovating this place and getting things just right. Tasty food and it will become a regular for me! https://www.ashkickersfoods.com From their FB Page: 100% Wood Smoked BBQ The culinary tradition of cooking meat low and slow over indirect flame is the true definition of barbecue and has been rooted in American culture for hundreds of years. 6. In Jupiter, they had a nice group but NOT many. Hot Male was about the same. Fresh Boys I was the only one in there for 30-40 min and I left the place empty.
  7. Here is a little snapshot of what was out last night beckoning walkerbys to come in and enjoy the company of handsome guys!
  8. I have been very impressed with the way Thailand is dealing with this and I hope they continue. I feel very safe and comfortable. I realize the economy will suffer. But, I also know the paranoia that is caused when a few cases are new here and then everything that is open, will shut down again. The country is on the right path!
  9. Great idea. I'll check on the ability to add others to the process. The scope now is to get the big cities listed and then add Other areas.
  10. I didn't get down that far. I know Tawan was open two weeks ago and assume it still is.
  11. The crowds are growing a bit in the bars and clubs. There are more boys on stage than a few weeks back. Fresh Boys had sexy guys and about 15 guys. Mostly twinky gay guys. Hot Male had a nice mix. Jupiter had about 20 guys and most muscular and sexy looking guys. All in pants and shirts. Boys Bangkok was open but not many on stage so I didn't go in. Screwboys is closed. Lucky Boys was closed. Moonlight was closed. There were no massage places near Hot Male open. Silom Soi 4 was fairly busy with lots of places open and customers with and without masks.
  12. I was doing that based on American law called the fair use doctrine. But, I would assume that most places set the same parameters years ago. I just never know if they changed. Back years ago, it was based on giving credit, and the amount used. When I studied this, 4 paragraphs with citation was OK if a long article. But, if a short article, it would not be fair. Lots of ifs and maybes.
  13. Anyone have a link for site for Bangkok Massage?
  14. Thank you. Done for part 1. We don't want to show any bars permanently closed. The data for years would be good if it is easy to come by.
  15. I am old. So, my thoughts may be out of date. But, I do remember years ago that up to 4 full paragraphs of an article could be copies with citation given. That has been what I have tried to do for years. For this article, I think one misses a lot with just the words as there is so many photos there which are great to view as you read. Odd that it is now only one article as I found the same. However, I do subscribe to the NYT to support them as well as the Washington Post. I was doing that for the LA Times but they got more expensive and they require you to call in to cancel. Being abroad, I find I get a lot of great articles from the NYT.
  16. I can't post the whole article here for copyright issues. But, I just tested and it wasn't blocked for me. Try a different browser where you are not logged in if you don't have an account. That just worked for me in Chrome.
  17. No one knows exactly why Thailand has been spared. Is it the social distancing embedded in Thai culture — the habit of greeting others with a wai, a prayer-like motion, rather than a full embrace — that has prevented the runaway transmission of the coronavirus here? Did Thailand’s early adoption of face masks, combined with a robust health care system, blunt the virus’s impact? Was it the outdoor lifestyle of many Thais, or their relatively low rates of pre-existing conditions? Is there a genetic component in which the immune systems of Thais and others in the Mekong River region are more resistant to the coronavirus? Or is it some alchemy of all these factors that has insulated this country of 70 million people? 18. We are working on revamping the site. What are your favorite Massage places in Bangkok? (pre-Covid) If you have a thread or post URL where you or someone wrote about them or a website, that would be great!
  19. Z, I think it defaults based on IP. So, it depends on where you are accessing as to where it defaults. If you were in England and we had a London page, it would default to that location. Yes, I changed the default image at the top of the Bangkok page but it will not accept the new image. So, what this means is I'll have to wait for support to answer why that image is "stuck" there. Thanks.
  20. It is your duty to vote. I don't care which political party you belong to or who you vote for (as long as it is not Trump). Please exercise your right and vote! www.VoteFromAbroad.org
  21. Thank you for the feedback. 1. I don't understand what you are asking. 2. Good idea. I don't know if possible, but I'll check. 3. Wrong photo removed. I'm American and we ain't known for good Geography.
  22. Thanks everyone. Please take a look at http://www.troff.com/gay-bangkok-gay-thailand/ You will find the bars listed at the bottom. If you look at Moonlight, that is the way we want to have the bars with links to the forum. Would love comments. It is an easy to use database that will help the site grow and also remove the double log in (which many have asked for). But, the name troff is irrelevant. It is just a testing site we are using before moving over to gayguides.com
  23. We are working on revamping the site. What are your favorite bars (beer or gogo) in Bangkok? (pre-Covid) If you have a thread or post url where you or someone wrote about them or a website, that would be great!
  24. It is good that Trump didn't sell the island! Did you read that in the news? Yes, he thought about it. I had great times in PR. Love them! Everyone in NYC thought I was PR. They said, you are what you eat.
