  1. From friends photos, it seems Circus Circus is quite busy daily. Is that incorrect?
  2. Reminds me of going to drag shows at the old Esquilita in NYC. I had a very young BF (19-23) and I was 20 years older and much bigger than my cute androgynous Filipino lover. I was mortified 100 times there as they always seem to find us in the crowd. I kept going as it was his thing but I learned to kind of go and get a drink when the dance was over and the talking started.
  3. The Thing Called Love which he directed had one of my all time favorite actors River Phoenix. RIP
  4. Don't get me started on American politics. That is my list of "I don't get it"
  5. Yes, I had an ex with with Sinopharm's and wanted the Moderna or Pfizer booster and waiting for 8 hours to get it. Supply gone. Come back next day. We all know how few days working Thais get off from work without loosing a job. While it is easy for us, it is not easy for some. And, this was after hours of talking to him about getting it because the Thai press is talking a lot about side effects. He did eventually get it because he had someone pushing him hard to get it.
  6. I have not changed anything and did not notice any change. Do you stay logged in most of the time?
  7. Yes, we as old men have vaccines. We are also mostly well off by Thai standards and have better vaccines that many in Thailand. Young children are not vaccinated and regardless of how this effects the tourist system, some thought has to be put into protecting every citizen. Like many, I don't think stopping tourists from coming is the answer. But, I understand the panic. Asian countries have done better than most tourist countries that want to come here. I'm old and I don't give a shit what anyone says about lower risks with new variants. In the last week, I have had 10 people get sick with Covid in Bangkok that I know (not been around them) and 2 were on ventilators as it was serious. I have also been lucky to have a boy with me for 6 months that has been amazing. I don't know if I would have made it alone. I often drive him crazy so I know I would have driven myself insane if I were alone.
  8. Yes, I am familiar. Like Game of Thrones, I was disappointed in the beginning but it grew on it after a few episodes. This one did grew on me because I loved the beauty of the cinematography and the rest started to fall in line. I hope season 2 is better.
  9. I really enjoyed it. I loved the visuals and the story. I can't wait for Season 2. I think most thought it would be the next Game of Thrones, but it is not. It is a big odd but I enjoyed it.
  10. Another season of Yellowstone come and gone. Tons of action and great story plots. The show set the stage for two other series based on it (6666 and 1883). I'll be watching both. The finale was great and a bit unexpected but good to watch nonetheless. Brilliant show!
  11. Introduced in Season 4 of Yellowstone, this will be another spin off from Yellowstone. https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/life/entertainment/a35742540/yellowstone-spinoff-6666-ranch-show-cast-release-date-spoilers/
  12. Thanks. But, not interested in doing that here.
  13. I think it is a way to make money (if any from those ads) from browsers as opposed to regular members. Most sites allow you to stay logged in for extended periods of time which is pretty good to avoid all the ads.
  14. A new learning word for me today: aquamation. It is the method that Desmond Tutu chose for his remains. I read a lot on it today. It is the first I remember hearing about it. Quite fascinating.
  15. We lost a true star tonight. She will be missed.
  16. The Winner - To Kill a Mockingbird By Harper Lee 2. The Fellowship of the Ring By J.R.R. Tolkien 3. 1984 By George Orwell 4. One Hundred Years of Solitude By Gabriel García Márquez 5. Beloved By Toni Morrison
  17. #1 did not surprise me. But, #2 did! I love it and have read it countless times (as I did with number 1). But, shocked with number 2. #4 and #5 is also at the top of my all time favorites. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/12/28/books/best-book-winners.html
  18. I loved reading this story. If anyone finds the initial TikTok video I'd love to see it. It says it is now longer available. Male teachers in Spain are wearing skirts in solidarity with a student who was expelled and sent to a psychologist for wearing one to school. Teachers across the country have joined the Clothes Have No Gender movement (#laropanotienegenero), sparked when 15-year-old Mikel Gómez was punished for wearing the clothing in October last year. In a now-viral TikTok video, the teen explained that he wore the skirt to challenge gender norms and support women’s liberation, but was promptly pulled out of class and taken to a psychologist who grilled him on whether he identified as a woman. His video sparked a nationwide protest as hundreds of boys turned up to school wearing skirts on 4 November, now known as “wear a skirt to school day”. https://www.pinknews.co.uk/2021/06/07/spain-teachers-wear-skirts-school-clothes-have-no-gender-mikel-gomez
  19. It has been getting pretty bad reviews but I have really enjoyed Sex in the City's return. Picking up where the girls left off many years later and seeing how they are in their 50's has been fun. Admittedly, when the original was on, I was living in NYC and Sunday night at my Times Square apartment was filled with sexy guys who all came over for a sex in the city party. I would usually cook pasta or some southern delight and we would eat, drink and watch Sex in the City together. That tiny living room was small but easily fix 15 or 20 of the sexiest lads I had ever seen. @marcanthonycan attest to the small size and the hot lads. So, I am not so sure that my enjoyment of the new series is so much the content as it is the memories. Another memory is taking a Sex in the City tour bus in NYC to see all the places it filmed and talked about. I even took my mother on that tour as she loved the show and loved the tour. They played scenes from the show on the bus. Anyway, enough of a walk down memory lane. If you haven't been watching the new show, give it a try. It is good to see so many fun characters and where they ended up.
  20. Richard Barrow is doing something I want to do next year. I can't wait to read his reports. He is taking the ferry to Songkhla and then driving back to Bangkok. Seahorse Ferries: https://www.seahorse-ferries.com/Home/Home.aspx https://www.facebook.com/richard.thailand
  21. I had heard his name when I was young and he has been a constant for most of my life. RIP https://edition.cnn.com/2021/12/27/africa/desmond-tutu-lgbtq-climate-palestine-reaction-intl/index.html
  22. I didn't see this in BKK. Where did you see it? I want to view it as well. Thanks for the review and the heads up. I still have good memories of seeing this in multiple regional productions over the years.
