Michael my friend you have no idea how much work you have to do. India is a pain in the ass country for everything but especially for arranging travel such as trains, hotels , tours etc. On my around the world trip I spent more time trying to arrange things in India then I did in the other 22 countries combined. I finally gave up and xxx 'd India and put in Bali. Best decision I ever made. Good Luck and bring lots of Immodium etc etc etc

FH Turn around is fair play so like you I took a closer look at some threads here and did find some interesting ones. Been awhile since I have stopped by so not sure if the time frame is compressed because of my absence but I will make an effort to stop by more often and post when I have something to add.

There are two funny things about this thread. 1. Anyone who know Michael would have realized that post was not his. He would have been much more theatrical if he had something like that to say. 2. The funniest thing is that post generated more interest and posts then the Board has had in a long time. Frankly I stopped coming here because there was rarely anything of interest. Furthermore those of you who continue to disparage SGT have no idea what you are talking about. Since DaBoss took over most of that bickering is gone and the posts there are far more interesting then any of the other Boards.

I just bought a RT ticket Amsterdam to BKK for April and May for 26,000 baht on KLM. Thought that was a pretty good deal. Wake up Thai IAr

For the Op. I agree that you should give Happy Place another chance. I was there last night for the show and the music was fine and getting to see the BBoys is just so entertaining. The OP also mentioned he liked Euroboys then I suggest you should look at New Sawatdee. Same type boys and some really cute ones.. I cannot improve on what Gaybutton wrote on Gayromeo and I completely agree.

Much easier in Thailand The Thai boys look at it as a job and are online almost every day so messages get answered. The Colombia boys some time don't check in for a week. Also I would say 75% of the boys on Gayromeo especially in Pattaya are there to make money so there is no problem in assuming you will have Sex. Many of the Colombian boys are actually surprised when you mention money although many warm to the idea rather fast. Of course my experience in Colombia is still very limited. The boy I met who speaks fluent English tells me manhunt is the thing to use in Colombia and he says he'll prove it to me next trip. LOL

Spent 3 nights in BKK. Not much to report there because I can't seem to drag myself to Soi Twilight at 300 baht for water(can't even get Diet Coke). Just too many boys on my phone to be bothered with those prices. I did stop to eat dinner at Diamonds which was Richards off Silom. Place is the same and menu is the same. Ordered a couple of Thai dishes and they were very good if a bit westernized. Service was good so not such a bad place for a quick meal. The holiday weekend left almost no massage boys on the streets of Silom so it was pretty boring except for Patpong. Arrived in Pattaya today. And again my phone is full of boys but I did go out on a scouting mission although a short one. My firsts stop was Splash Boys which is the old Gentlemens Club. Got there at 945. 12 boys and 10 customers. I would say average looking boys and despite some recent comments about the boys being young, I do not agree. In fact I did not see one boy who by any chance I would have checked his id. Average age appeared to be 25 or older. Show started promptly at 10pm and lasted 20 minutes. It is an erotic show with suds and water. It is very well done and in the low light and strobes the boys became 5 years younger. LOL My water was 145 baht. Music was at great level for conversation Then on to Cupidol. About 12 boys and again 10 customers. Again pretty average except for 2 rather masculine boys with nice faces. IMHO Water 140 baht and music at proper level. Stuck my head in Lucky 7 which was a disaster, 6 boys and 2 customers.(it used to be such a good bar).. Walked past the Show Bar with their Ladyboy Lip Synchs going on. They appeared to have few customers. Panorama, Oscars etc all had nice crowds and Boys and Copa appeared to be dead although I did not look. Stuck my head in Toy Boys and again 6 boys and no customers. More later in the week from the busy Bars , Happy Place and Funny Boys. And yes Sunee Bars! Next night OK so I did the Sunee run for all you guys in cold weather or planning to arrive soon. First in the interest of full disclosure , let me tell you my preferences in boys in case I am showing my prejudices which I try not to do. I prefer the younger(but legal) look although certainly not exclusively. I am not attracted to Ladyboys but have no problem with a slightly feminine gay boy. Athletic bodies are a plus but the most important thing to me is the Face. If the boy is super cute to handsome in the face not much else makes a difference to me. Now everything I say about the looks of the boys are personal opinions and you may or may not agree with me. And of course tomorrow the boys on offer may have changed. First stop was New Sawatdee at a very early 845pm. Easy to see what the Buzz is about . It started at the door with a very good looking door man and continued inside. 10 boys not one of which I would not take home. Been a long time since I felt that way in Pattaya. Now before I would have taken any of them home, I would have been very careful to check their id because they were all definitely on the young side. I have no idea and my old eyes betray me now days but I would check for sure. They may all be legal and that would not surprise me but better to be careful. It was very slow when I first went in but picked up by the time I was leaving at 915. Energy was good and the muscic at a proper level. My water was 120 baht as were all the Bars I visited. Next was Euroboys. Basically the same layout as before but with seating on each side. A dozen boys also on the younger side and not one I would have taken. Hard to believe but the faces on the boys at Sawatdee were just much better IMHO. 10 customers and a dozen boy. Energy level was very low , mainly the shuffle not at all what Euroboys used to be. New management take notice energy is what made Euroboys fun with lots of dancing. None of that on display tonight. Music level was ok. Next was Eros. Big disappointment for me. In October they had a good mix of boys , many of whom played with each other and tried to have fun with the patrons. Tonight it was 12 boys on the older side 25 and up I would guess ,and not very attractive to these eyes. Just average looking boys. Music was way too loud. Next Mic My where we are back to the younger smaller look. 14 or more boys and energy was decent. There were some very cute boys but again be careful to check ids. Music level was ok. Last Niceboys. In Sunee they always have the most boys and the widest variety. 20-25 boy and the most customers by far at about 20. Something for every one young and old, big and small , masculine and Ladyboys. The variety is too much for me , I never seem to be able to focus on any one boy. However there is no doubt this is the most successful Bar in Sunee. Most of the Beer Bars were very busy and in many cases may have the best looking boys at least with their clothes on. Tomorrow a report on the new show at Happy Place and probably a visit to Funnyboys. By the way I still find cuter boys on Gayromeo and in many cases see them in the bars later in my visit. That happened to me 3 times tonight and in each of the cases they still would have attracted me in the Bars. But I got them with no off fees, no 120 baht for water etc etc etc. The go go bars with few exceptions are just not as much fun as they used to be and for me they make up only a small part of my visit and assignations.

Stop crying. Just do what you did this last time, stay in 1 place for 5 months and then you only have 2 of those expensive Business Class tickets a year or get an exit row seat with the rest of us poor people and take 2 sleeping pills and you will have an xtra $12,000 bucks a year to spend at Hero. And of course you could use some of those million miles you have and pay nothing for your tickets. Not good for maintaining Grand Pooba Status!!!

I always enjoy when my friend Michael starts one of these discussions , waiting to see if someone will challenge him which of course I will. There is little difference in airfares to Brazil and Thailand especially in the upgradeable fares which is the only way Michael flies (in Business Class comfort). What difference there is quickly eaten up by Hotel rates that are 3 to 5 times the cost of Hotels in Thailand. That plus the fact that for long term visits the comparisons of serviced apartments is almost a joke. Nothing in Brazil worth mentioning and apartments for real long term stays are some of the highest in the world. Food and Boys are fairly comparable in price now that the Brazilian currency has plummeted but should it strengthen to its level of 3 months ago then everything would be considerably more expensive then Thailand. Bottom line a one month trip to Brazil vs. Thailand from the West coast of the USA staying in comparable Hotels and partaking of the local boys will cost you considerably more then Thailand. From the east coast the comparison gets closer because of airfares . However 2 weeks in 5 star Hotels in Thailand will cost you $3000 where as Brazil it will be at least $5500 and the comparison continues as you go down in quality of the Hotels. Also in most case no comparison between 2 and 3 star Hotels in the 2 countries. The overall quality of Hotels in Thailand are far superior to Hotels in Brazil at the lower end. So bottom line Brazil is a country to be enjoyed for many things but one of them is not an overall lower cost of your vacation in comparison to Thailand!!!

Anyone currently in Bangkok tell me the states of the rain and possible floods in the Downtown area. Also what is currently happening in Pattaya. I know Chiang Mai is a mess from friends who say downtown is under a couple of feet of water>

You said it not safe . Therefore from my point of view it is not good. The baht bus are all right if they happen to be going the way you are going which is only possible about 50% of the time. And if you have to hire them to take you somewhere they are 3 times the cost of a beautiful new air conditioned taxi in BKK. All an all if you like motorbikes then I guess the system is ok. If you don't then it sucks!!! Of course it could be worse. You could be in Phuket!!

I'll jump in my 2 cents worth before Michael. Really depends on what you like. BKK Likes 1. Real city with all that a major city has to offer such as museums, Live stage shows with world famous acts,diverse shopping and generally a place that does not exist for SEX. 2. Transportation. Skytrain and MRT are world class. Taxis are clean , new and cheap if you know when to use them 3. Fabulous and varied choice of massage parlors if you want them. 4. 25 minutes from BKK airport for transportation world wide. 5. More diverse type of boys available in great numbers both at gay Bars , Gayromeo and just walking around. 6. Definitely more educated young Thais both because of many Universities and that is where the jobs are. 7. World Class Hospitals something definitely not available in Pattaya IMHO BKK Dislikes 1. Traffic even when you learn the times to use or not use taxis. 2. Housing more expensive for similar apartments. 3. Gay Bars on Soi Twilight ridiculously expensive 4. Air quality can be bad Pattaya Likes. 1. Easy to hook up with EX pats (for conversation and meals) 2. Bars are inexpensive when compared to BKK 3. Apartments are reasonable 4. Beach available if you want. 5. Gayromeo has boys 24 hours a day . Much harder for hook ups at odd times in BKK Pattaya Dislikes 1. Transportation sucks unless you want to own motor bike which I don't. 2. Massage Parlors suck when compared to BKK both in numbers and quality 3. Limited things to do such as attend World Class Plays, Singers , Museums etc etc etc 4. Lack of a world class Hospital. Sorry BKK Pattaya is a poor substitute IMHO 5. Tourists are certainly of a lower class then found in BKK and it seems they are everywhere where as in BKK they are hardly noticeable . Again this is my personal prejudice which I think is shared by many. 6. Harder but not impossible to find Masculine Boys if that is your thing. Overall in an ideal world I would have an apartment in both and switch between them. If forced to make a choice and money did not enter into the equation, I would choose BKK with liberal side trips to Pattaya

Big Rooms with shower. Bed on floor which I like. Boys hit or miss like most places. Can be excellent or fair.

Amazing a $1000 a night . Makes the boys more then NYC and way more then anywhere in Asia when you take into account your Hotel costs . For those who like 5 star Hotels when they travel, Brazil has become worse then Paris and Rome and not worth going to unless you lower your standards for Hotels or just don't have to care about money. Not the case for me unfortunately!

The river may be better but there are only 1 type of ribs offered and a choice of 2 sauces. neither of which is very good IMHO!!!

Ok I couldn't wait so i tried the Ribs tonight. Mediocre at best. No smoky flavor, I suspect they were boiled and grilled. Good amount of meat and was moist. Just no barbecue flavor and the sauce doesn't help. FF suck, cole slaw bland. cornbread was ok. 2.5 stars would be generous but still better then that chain in BKK in Siam Paragon whose name escapes me at the moment. They are on Sukhumvit also and last 2 times there nothing but fat and gristle at a higher price. Where oh where can you get good baby back Ribs in Thailand???
