There are some choices in Thailand especially in Bangkok and Pattaya that are not easily available in much of the world. I refer to serviced apartments which give you much more space then most Hotel rooms but still give you the advantage of daily cleaning if you wish. Bangkok is just unbelievable for these types of apartments. I can stay in the best area in a 700 sq foot apartment with every convenience including washer and dryer for as little as $70 per night and for true luxury up to $150 per night. And there are also quite a few of these type apartments for even less. The price varies with whether it is Motel 6 furniture or Four Seasons. Whether breakfast buffet is included and free wifi in all the rooms. But in all cases you get anywhere from 2x to 3x the space and the niceties of full kitchen , washer , dryer etc etc. What you usually give up although not in all cases are palatial Lobbys and onsite Bars and restaurants. I have never stayed at one where there were not a multitude of choices for restaurants and bars within a few blocks. The best prices are usually found on Agoda or Booking .com. Big advantage with Booking is rarely do you have to pay in advance where as with Agoda you almost always do.

I am in total agreement for the 2 in South Pattaya. It has been awhile since I ate at the one in Jomtien. Best Italian restaurant I have found in Pattaya is Don Joe Ristorante on Walking street. On bay side of the street about 1/2 way down. Truly excellent food and service at moderate and fair prices. Chef owned and managed every night

Actually unlike some fares economy 1 way fares originating in USA are not more expensive then RT fares. So the return portion of the ticket I won't use is a benefit to the airline ( a seat to resell) I have done the above many times in the USA and Europe where frequently airlines charge less for RT then one way. Probably why they all lose money. I have never had an airline come after me. Granted though these are economy tickets. Probably not worth their while?

Michael, That fare was much better because you began your journey from Thailand instead of rip off USA. Fares are always much lower when you originate in Asia sometimes substantially lower. My business fares next year are $1200 lower . which is 30% lower . It was well worth me throwing away my return economy ticket.

I saw the new movie today a few days before I leave for Thailand, I was not a big fan of the play and went with low expectations. I never thought much of the music except for 2 songs and when I saw it was 2 1/2 hours long, I was sure I would fall asleep. But surprise I did not fall asleep and at times was mesmerized by Hugh Jackmans performance.. Not sure who I'd vote for Best Actor jackman or Daniel Day Lewis in Lincoln. Not a great movie but well worth the price of admission!

That this is the first time this has happened to you is a miracle. Honestly I have more sympathy for the Thais who were pulled over and can ill afford to pay any amount of a fine at any time. Really just a reminder that no matter how much we might love Thailand, it is still a 3rd world country in many respects.

I tried Classic in October after some good comments and I was severely disappointed .. About 15 boys body types which were fine with me but not a handsome Face in the bunch. Now I understand that is IMHO and others may disagree. But I also understand that 2 days in a row can provide a completely different sample. I did not return that trip but will make another look see in January and hope that there are some Handsome Boys.

I agree with Rogie also. After all it is almost Xmas and it sounds like he gave you a lot more pleasure then 4000 baht. Tell he should consider it a one time gift from Santa.

Oh my God you might starve . Michael is famous for going to restaurants that do not serve food.

It is good for you only up to the high end of your usual short time budget. (remember I know you well) and for you extensive photos will be required. Not of you by the way!!!

These boys perform at both X Boys without shirts and some have very nice athletic bodies ability to do things with their bodies. (be still my heart).

Take my good rich friend Michael to the late show at X Boys Land. I know it is past his bedtime but make him take a nap in the afternoon. Then after the BBoys perform , I have it on Good Authority that some of those Hot Sweaty Boys are available. I'll be waiting for the report and pictures. In fact if you prove my assumption right , I'll reimburse you for the Boys fee but only if I get photos!

I agree with all the complaints above and yet it all falls on management. The reason I feel this way is I have never had any of these things happen at Kasikorn Bank or on their phone banking. I have always found the employees to be well trained and able to handle normal and unusual requests. I find this to be the same at any of the large DTAC centers in Bangkok. Well trained and helpful and able to handle unusual questions or requests. If they can do it then why can't all of the others . Poor management is always the problem !!!

In fact New York tap water is known to be an excellent quality !!

As they say to each his own. Not sure what you did in Chiang Mai but with Doi Sutep, Elephant trekking, fast water rafting, Tiger Kingdom, Chiang Mai Zoo, some of the most beautiful temples in Asia etc etc etc , I don't see how a trip around a bay in a boat compares with that especially when you can do that in many Thailand Beach areas that have not been spoiled by greedy operators.

It's a good rate especially if he speaks good English. Either do the one night first or call him and make sure his level of English and knowledge of the areas you want to see before striking a deal.

Absolutely no contest . Chiang Mai has so much to do that is the real Thailand as the links mentioned above will show you. Phuket is a tourist destination with rip off artists all over and its main claim to fame ( the beaches) can be seen in many better places in Thailand and the World. All 4 days will do is wet your appetite for a return trip in the future. You said boys will not be a focus which makes Chiang Mai even more the logical choice!

Don't worry that was the pre-National Championship Game I am sure the Big one will be on one of your sports tv channels. When I arrive I'll help you find it!!

Ha Ha Ha Absolutely no contest between DL and UA as far as finding award seats at reasonable levels. UA is exponentially better and their search engine is far superior which means most of the time I don't have to call. DL is usually a slight bit more expensive but its International BC seating is far superior to 3 Class United where you have to crawl over people in BC. Too bad we can't merge the best of both!

Although I hate to say it because i despise DL's frequent Flyer program, DL international Business product is better then many on that top 10 list. First DL has 2 classes only which means on many of their airplanes they have the staggered seating which is so far superior to many Business layouts where you have to climb over people to use the restrooms etc. It is undeniable that the FA's on the foreign airlines are more attractive then the old women on DL. But I find the overall service in Business Class not to be that much worse then most of the airlines on that list. I have had some really good American type meals in Business. I can't comment on the wine selection or booze because I don't drink on flights. I will be flying the Dreamliner next year on ANA which will have the staggered seating and 2 classes only and will report.

Which is why Michael is right. Go to New Wave in Central Plaza. He supplies most of the booths in Tuk Com. You won't get a better price but you will have to haggle. He will stand behind it for sure and you certainly do not have to worry if it is a fake.
