Sorry for no updates on my trip. I have had a particularly bad case of Montezuma's Revenge. No idea where it came from since no strange food and no new restaurants. I have not felt like doing anything for a week. Fingers crossed ,I think it may have run its course. Just glad it didn't happen closer to my departure , because the thought of being sick during 22 hours of flying does not interest me. I am sure Low Season has definitely set in by the number of texts and messages on GayRomeo I have been getting. Of course end of month also and room rents are do. I will do my best to help the poor boys out my last 6 days(heheh) , but I will probably be staying close to my room and won't have a lot to report. I get out before Songkarn which was always the plan. I don't mind the water festival in Bangkok where it lasts for a couple of days . But I hate it in Pattaya where it goes on forever and it seems there are more drunken foreigners to deal with who show little respect for anything. Anyways for those of you who love it , I wish you a very Happy Songkarn!!

Thanks so much for taking the time for such a complete answer!!!

So many of the photos you posted are so spectacular that it definitely wants to make me go to some of those places. High altitude really bothers me. Even my visits to Bogota at 8600 feet were difficult for me. Keeping that in mind which would you recommend in what order for a 2 week trip? Departure point would be Atlanta, Ga?

I don't totally agree with that. I have known straight guys who are in stable farang relationships but the farang can not be jealous if the boy wants to play sometimes with woman. And while most gay boys are willing to jump at a long term relationship with someone who visits and thus they can have long term relationships with multiple farangs . I think for it to be successful the farang if many times older usually has to accept the fact the boy may want to play on the side. Of course in many cases so does the farang. I just think if 30 or 40 years difference or more the relationship will most always be based on money and not love. But I stress I did say almost?? I guess it all boils down to your definition of Love. Then again I have no personal experience , only observations of other relationships.. So what do I know?
-
I guess it depends where you are looking and what you are looking for. There are many boys looking for a long time thing. And there are many stories of farangs falling in love and having a long term BF. Unfortunately many more stories of heartbreak on both sides especially when meetings were originally based on money. If you are truly looking for a long term relationship then look elsewhere then GoGo Bars, Beer Bars and massage Parlors. If you are only looking to fall in love for a few weeks then recognize it for what it is Lust not Love . IMHO

I have to agree that HeartBeat is a lot of fun. The old story if the boys are enjoying themselves then the customers are much more likely to enjoy themselves.
-
I must have been there the wrong night 2 weeks ago. Around 930pm and the saddest bunch of boys I have ever seen. Usually can count on a couple from out of Thailand lookers. This night there was nothing even close to be worth buying a drink for. It was my first time in the downstairs area and it is so dark that I can only imagine what they would have looked like under normal light.
-
For your next visit usually a tout on Surawong to get you to down to HeartBeat. If you tell him 200 baht for you and boys he will make sure thats what you pay. And a free off with your coupon , you are all set.

You are absolutely right. Assuming the Avatar is your BF, we should have made positive comments. Love to see him without the Sunglasses???

Obama administration weighs in on defense of marriage law

Thomas refused to recluse himself from a case where his wife is a lobbyist for the company. Clear conflict of interest but since he never speaks a word, who knows why he thinks he can get away with it. -

If he can't his wife definitely can ! same same!! Read this article and if you come away thinking that cases are decided any way except idealogical and with nothing to do with the Constitution then I have a bridge in Brooklyn I want to sell you. http://news.yahoo.com/gay-marriage-high-court-case-fizzle-065952825--politics.html -

Unfortunately Hot Button Issues are always the important cases to the majority of Americans. Many cases they hear have no relevance to the vast majority of Americans. Many are Corporate cases which have no direct bearing on the lives of most Americans. I should have been more specific in that I meant to say important Landmark cases that affect the majority of Americans. Cases like Abortion, civil rights, who is President of the United States etc etc etc. Those cases have predominately been decided by 5-4 votes strictly along idealogical grounds of the Justices. Supposedly the greatest legal minds in the country can be 180 degrees opposed in how they interpret the Constitution . Ridiculous I say again. I have no faith in them and believe there decisions have been made prior to arguments in the vast majority of cases. I say again if the vast majority of justices agree on something , it means something to me when the vote is 5-4 , it means nothing to me. Congres is full of hacks like Michell Bachman and Steve King etc etc etc. They vote the way the lobbyists tell them to vote and in many cases their education is lacking and their decisions are almost always along idealogical lines. It is up to the highest court in the land to decide if what they passed is in fact Constitutional . And yet what is constitutional is decided by the make up of the Court not by the Constitution itself. If Obama was to get to replace one of the Conservative justices in the next 4 years then many of the Landmark votes would be decided differently. So therefore it is in fact the winds of change that decide what is constitutional. Because if they don't strike down Doma this session eventually there will be more justices on the Court appointed by a President who was elected by standing for something like the repeal of Doma . And because of the change in the Court magically the majority opinion will change. What is Constitutional ? Do these justices know?I doubt it and until I see at least 6-3 or 7-2 decisions in important cases, I for one will have no faith in their rulings!! And if you need proof just look at these votes! http://andrewoneverything.com/post/43849931988/the-us-supreme-court-is-useless -

Please they stick their finger in the air all the time. How do you think we got stuck with that Idiot Bush for 8 years. They wanted to make sure they had a President who would appoint Conservative thinking justices. In this case it was not how the country felt but what they wanted to get for future appointees. You can pick how they will vote 90% of the time based on who appointed them and whether they were seen as a conservative or liberal. Has anyone failed to know how Scalia or Thomas would vote before the vote. Of Course not! Sure every once in awhile you get one that decides opposite to his political leanings like Roberts did on the Affordable Care Act. And Kennedy is probably the hardest to figure. But bottom line it has nothing to do with the Constitution, if it did blacks would not have suffered the discrimination they did for over 100 years after the Civil War. It is their job to affirm or strike down laws based on the Constitution. Unfortunately they all decide what the Constitution says and for 25 years the overwhelming number of decisions have been 5- 4 votes. That should make me trust them??? It makes me think how ridiculous they are that they agree on nothing and the only reason they get anything done is because the minority can't filubuster the slight majority. When I begin to see votes of 8-1 9-0 etc then I might believe the decisions are based on the Constitution. Until then they are no better then the Congress!!!! -
I have been 4 times and never felt unsafe but you do have to be more careful what areas you walk in at night. If you have no watches or jewelry , to attract them , I would say it is relatively safe but certainly not as safe as Thailand. If you get an apartment in Ipanema , that is a very nice area and not much crime. If you stay in Copocabana then more then a few streets from the beach can be dodgy at night. Some of the saunas you can get to by subway but when you leave at night best to have them call you a taxi. Really like most big cities . Don't look like you are rich if you don't know the area you are in.

HaHAHa Well of i course I know that but I meet very few people who speak Portuguese and many who have some ability in Spanish and they are able to get along just fine in Brazil because of some similarities between the 2 languages.

My hope is the Court does not like to be led but rather to lead. The demographics are moving strongly in favor of Gay Marriage. Young people just don't even get what the argument is about and now the majority of the country are in favor of Gay Marriage and the margin will continue to get wider. Does the Court want to be so out of touch?? I hope not! -
Well first I doubt anyone found this thread to be long and boring. I appreciate the time it takes to make these posts and I am sure that many who never even considered Brazil will now have to think about a new adventure. There are so many adventures in the world and it is so much fun exploring each and every one. These kind of posts are what whets some appetites to try a new country and from my perspective greatly appreciated. The truth is that any place can be fabulous if you meet the right people and especially the right boys. Rio is a beautiful city but unfortunately prices are out of control. You must stay in apartments because the Hotel prices have become ridiculous. I just checked the prices of the JW Marriott for this week and the average is $650 a night. Only multi millionaires or people using points can afford those prices and SaPaulo is worse.. The great thing to me about this trip by Michael is that it appears there are many other jewels to visit in Brazil where Hotels and restaurants are more reasonable. It is true that Thailand spoils us at least for the time being in that prices are so reasonable. The same JW Marriott in Bangkok is a 1/3 the price and is far superior to the dated one in Rio. I am also not a late night person but will agree that nothing compares to the Discos in SaoPaulo. They are incredible and if I were 30 years younger would be there with various boys every night. Most people who plan to go to Brazil for the first time will have to carefully plan their trip in order to make the cost reasonable. Stay in apartments and eat where the locals eat not the upper class. Brazil is 1/2 the distance in travel for most of the USA compared to Thailand but the airfares are relatively the same. I find language to be much more of a problem in Brazil then Thailand. If you are a limited person like I am who only speaks one language Thailand is much more comfortable then Brazil. But if you speak some Spanish then it will be easier to navigate Brazil. For me the reason that I don't continue to visit Brazil is that I am not a Sauna person. I am uncomfortable in the setting and nothing will ever change that. That is why if I was to return it might be to Port Allegre where they have boy bars . But everyone should visit Brazil if they are able. Rio is one of the most beautiful cities on earth and visits to the Rain Forest are incredible.

ScrewBoys was not closed 2 weeks ago when I walked by. After that I cannot tell you.

Fabulous post. Love to make that trip to Peru but I'm afraid I might have to get 2 new knees first with all the climbing and walking. Sucks getting old. Fabulous photos.

Bottom line the owners could care else what farangs think. He is catering to Asians from Singapore, Japan etc. They don't find the drinks outrageous because that is what they pay in their own country with no boys to off or sex shows. I don't like it but you have to respect he knows who his customers are and he caters to them and what they can pay. I have never been in there when I didn't see at least 1/2 dozen boys I would take in a minute. Unfortunately they are always Top only or so they say and I'm not interested in spending the money to see if they can be Versatile. But of course that is IMHO and others tastes may differ.

You have to call them to change from 2nd password to OTP . They ask you questions to verify who you are . When it is time to change it back I call them and they walk me through it because I always forget.. KBank is the only Bank I am familiar with
-
I disagree with one thing you say. You can change from an OTP to a second password and thus do anything you want when you are out of the country. You can continue to use that 2nd password in Thailand. This is with Kasikorn Bank. Recently they restricted Top Ups of your mobile to OTP only. I change to OTP when I enter Thailand and back to 2nd password when I leave . It only takes a few minutes to change either way.

By the way I apologize if many feel Nude Frontal G photos are not appropriate here and have no problem if the Administrators want to take the one photo down that I posted. I assumed it would be ok and you all know assume means that it makes an ass out of you and me. LOL

Fair question. I find a difference between GayRomeo boys who have their photos plastered all over the internet and on Grindr and Camfrog etc etc etc. anyways could care less. Some of the boys are in porn and of course they are again all over the internet. Many boys do not want their photos taken and of course I never insist which is why I don't post that many photos compared to the boys I see. Every boy I have posted a photo here has numerous photos on GayRomeo and other Gay sites to meet farangs , even the 2 boys from FunnyBoys so to be honest I don't feel the need to ask. They have already made their decision. If I met someone in a Bar or Mall, restaurant etc and they allowed me to take photos, I would feel it is proper to ask for permission to post their photos.

Send the bookends over or bring them with you next time. I wonder what you could catch with them as bait. LOL Evidently the Brazilian boys keep you up past your bedtime so no telling what you might discover in Thailand
