You may see it that way but I don't. There are far more posters then ever before. Since you are in Thailand all the time , I am sure we would like to see more posts started by you. It does not make sense for someone to complain about the Board being less interesting when that poster rarely contributes an original post. It is every members responsibility to make this Board interesting and the more people that contribute the better the Board.

This is the 3rd article I have read recently about ATM scams. Pays to use ATMS in banks I would think they might be safe. Certainly could ruin a vacation to Thailand very quickly. Too bad you did not heed the warning about the boy in the photo from another poster. (ananone or Z909) The boy who told you owed him more after the massage was ripping you off. Pattaya short time 1000 is acceptable and extra is graciously accepted. Over nights 1500 and same if you feel he deserves extra. Bangkok I have not taken a Bar Boy in quite some time. Don't find the need. 1500 used to be acceptable for short time and 2000 over night but it appears boys from certain bars expect more then that. I would no longer take a boy in BKK without establishing the tip prior to offing him. I would tell him 1500 for short time before I offed him and give him extra if he deserves it. If he is demanding more before you leave , it is likely not to be a good encounter. IMHO Based on some reports elsewhere on Saphan Kwai , I may make another visit because the boys are less professional and apparently happy with 1000.

Any visitors or non Thai residents being effected by these demonstrations. I am not currently in Thailand and have always found in the past that foreign news organizations tend to make these things bigger then they are. I don't have the foggiest idea? You seem to be unable to understand that I put these things up becasue they are interesting looks into the country many of us spend a lot of time in. I hope that it creates some comments from some that I and others might learn something more then what is in the article. Just like I learned a lot from your comments about Amnesty. However I learned nothing from your response to this post and that is my OPINION!!!!!!

The most thin skinned people I have ever seen. Are you going to deny that you have very strong opinions on the subject and thus by definition are opinionated. I made it plain that I know very little about the subject and that I could tell you were very well versed in the subject and thus someone I could not possibly have an intelligent argument with. Yes there are always 2 sides to a discussion and I am sure there are people out there who could go toe to toe with you and have a very spirited discusision. I am not one of them and I made it plain over and over again that I have no thoughts on the subject. Having no thoughts on the subject makes me opinionated then so be it. For saying that you are opinionated on the subject.? Any rational human being would agree with that. If you choose to take that in a negative way that is your problem, I did not mean it that way and as far as I am concerned this ridiculous discussion has run its course!!! How can I make it any plainer to people who just want to start an argument when there is no argument

Well your arguments would have more merit if I disagreed with anything that BKK Guy said but of course I did not. I would say that I fell under #3 and I certainly made it plain that I had no basis to disagree with his arguments , just that there might be another side to the argument which I was not knowledgeable enough to make if it existed. So I still maintain anyone would have a hard time saying I was opinionated. To be opinionated you have to express an opinion and I would say it would have to be strongly advanced which of course I did not.

I certainly don't want anyone to feel that I set the Bar too High. Fortunately my trips are always at least 30 days long and there have been a lot of them. For that reason I have the time to post many times and of course I have my laptop and cameras with me. If I was here for 7- 10 days then having fun is certainly more important then reporting on the fun. I think we all understand that and will be grateful for any reports that anyone has time for. I know that I gained valuable information from Anonone's posts as well as others that led me to Bars and nights I would have not otherwise tried. You just never know what nugget of information could prove valuable to your next visit and who that nugget might come from. So I look forward to any and all reports from visitors no matter how short and whether or not they have photos.

I knew there was a reason why I never took one of those overloaded ferries out to KohLan. Of course I am not sure the speedboats that I took are much safer. Some are held together with spit and glue. I find just the opposite. In 15 years I have had 1 thief out of hundreds . As far as liars, it would probably be a close contest between the boys and their admirers on who lies the most. After all most do like hearing the lies!!
