Sorry not the same . Saying negative things about the Monarchy is clear and spelled out. Any Thai citizen who does not know it , just does not exist. Also anyone who reads blogs or travel books or anything Thailand should know it. All owners of sites or Blogs better know it and if they don't they will suffer the consequences. There is nothing moving about that line.

I can think of so many reasons not to go to N Korea and not a single reason to visit. Guided tours only ,automatically eliminates it for me. I don't like being herded on and off buses and told where to be at what time. Being thrown in jail if you say the wrong thing or smile at a boy would be another good reason. Abject poverty in the whole country except for the idiots who run it.. South Korea would do nicely if I was dying to see Korea.. I don't visit places where the line is always moving on what is allowed and if you cross the line , you end up in a cage. For me there has to be something worthwhile to see and experience with the knowledge , you are likely to return home safely.

Do you find it cheaper and available to upgrade to Prem Economy after purchase on KLM rather then purchase it in advance.

This is the way I have gone with Delta, United , Marriott. Only thing I may maintain is Diamond (top tier) with Hilton and not even sure of that. They treat me good in Asia and most of Europe but don't get much in the USA. By the same token it only requires 30 stays to maintain Diamond so I can add a bunch of Hampton Inns at $70 per night in order to beef up my stays. Also point stays count so next year I could spend a small % of my Million + points and still maintain Diamond and spend nothing..

I've been retired for the last 5 years so vacations do not figure into my trip planning.

I used to come 3 or 4 trips a year for 3-4 weeks each. Now I am down to two with one being for 2 months and the other 1 month. Next year it will be down to possibly 1 trip. Still have lots of places to visit and a finite amount of income to spend. Plus I'm sick of 24 hours in planes and still have lots of places to visit with air travel 9 hours or less.

I don't thinks taxis would ever turn the meter on for that trip but ask for a flat rate. I prefer to book a car where driver is waiting for me when I exit Customs. The most I have ever paid is 1200.. Same from downtown Bangkok to Pattaya or the reverse. Some take the bus from the airport assuming their flights arrive before 10pm . I can't be bothered waiting for a bus and then looking fro transpiration to my apartment/ Hotel in Pattaya. After 24 hours in airplanes, the last thing I want to do is prolong my trip to my bed with a cute Thai Boy. I think it is one of the great bargains in Thailand and have paid the same or more for a 20 minute trip in most of the rest of the world.

I think after a few weeks you might think another try is worth it to Chiang Mai. As many residents will tell you the Gay GoGo bars suck especially if you want a Bottom. Massage places are mediocre but residents will tell you that the Discos such as See Man Club are the place to go. If you can handle the late nights which I cannot any longer you will find Sexy Boys who will be surprised when you give them a 1000 baht. No chance of that happening in Pattaya . That alone would make the trip interesting and probably a number of repeats with boys like you met.

I think it is fairly evident that the only Moderator is Scooby. Which is just fine with me. It is impossible to please everyone and I'm pretty sure the the vast majority of members are satisfied and there is always the Ignore Button.

Why do you come to BKK, since you make it evident that you hate most things about it. if HKG is great , stay there!

You can repeat the same drivel here as many as times as you want. It will never make you right and you cannot find one poster that will agree with your ridiculous assertions. I'm glad to know that since Taxis in HKG are 5X as much as BKK that you are paying 5X as much for an apartment and 5X as much for a meal and 5X as much for clothes because cost of living is so much higher. All of which is not true except that taxis are 5X as expensive and you have already admitted you are ignorant because you never take them. Lucky you that you don't have to stand in line at some designated spot for taxi pick up , for 15 minutes or more . I had to do that repeatedly my last trip to HKG in November. Then I had to pay 5X as much for the fare that I pay in BKK. Approximate fare HKG to Kowloon 320 HKD about 1400 that baht . This is less of a distance then BKK airport to Siam Paragon. Oh and by the way you have to pay more for luggage and late at night with HKG taxis. Any 3rd grader can do the math. Anyone who doesn't think BKK taxis are a great bargain compared to most of the rest of the world needs to go back to school and take some math courses.

The key in your post is where you say " I believe" Evidently Scooby does not agree enough to remove the post and to be honest I agree with what Vinapu posted . I can see nothing in the post that pointed to any particular member and in fact everything is probably true in general . In no way did I see that as an attack on a particular member or members in General. I can see where someone could elect to take it that way on first reading but many might change how they feel after a few days and read it again. I do agree that since he asked for help and received it he should have been more gracious in his reply and ended with how much vacation he gets as to why some suggestions do not work for him. However I would think there would need to be a general outcry from many members before Scooby would think about banning a member. That outcry certainly did not happen and it is time to let the story die!

I think the problem with Thai from LAX is their decline in product. They just don't compare favorably in Business with Korean, Asiana, Eva .even DL etc. They don't compare in seats, food, IFE, beverages and sometimes even service. That said I am taking an award flight next year from Heathrow-BKK in the A380 and am hoping for a good product . I flew them a few months ago BKK-SYD and it was at best average .(old old, old)

Well I did see the first post with the photo and it was subsequently deleted. I agree it does not meet Board Rules but is fairly tame. But if it does not get deleted this time , we still need to remember Board Rules against Dick Photos

I am unable to see your rationale. I assume the deleted post must have been from you. But the thread was started by z909 and he was the one keeping it alive with the same complaints that he regularly makes every few months . So stopping the incessant complaints of one member who is not happy with the moderation would seem to be the opposite of what you are implying. But that's just me.
