Wow. Hard to believe anyone could get so many things wrong about Narita. Sorry! 1. In the last 15 years I have flown DL , UA and ANA in and out of Narita from and to BKK. Only 1 time have I ever used a Bus Gate because of weather causing delays. 2 .The longest leg ever Tokyo- BKK is 7 hours and depending on winds can be as short as 5 1/2 hours. 3. I have had 1 missed connection in all those flight and other then that normal 30-60 minute delays at the most 4. I agree Lounges lack interesting snacks but honestly there is too much food on the planes . DL lounges are really quite nice with a 100 Apple Computers for use , I never even take out my laptop. 5. I used EVA last time through Taipei and it was fine but I found the Lounge chaotic but if you want to eat there are lots of choices. Unfortunately it was a much longer walk from the Lounge to the Gate then I have ever had in Narita. But it is only 1 experience. 6. Most of my connections through Narita were 2- 2/12 hours which I like . I like being out of the silver tube for a little bit and those kind of connections reduce the need to run to catch your next flight and no relax time. My 1 connection with Eva was about an hour I believe which leaves no time to enjoy the Lounges etc. I will be going back through Taipei in a week so I will take notice. Of course the shorter leg to and from Taipei just means the other leg is 3-4 hours longer. Either way you have to take your poison!

Really depends on type of boys you like . BKK has more muscular boys in general. Price are higher for offs, drinks and tips and can add up over 2 weeks. BKK is better if you enjoy massages although there are a few decent ones in Pattaya. Lodging is generally lower in Pattaya . Pattaya is far better if you use Gayromeo, Hornet, Jack'd etc . If you are only spending 1 week , I would stick with Pattaya unless you did not like the boys. If longer then spend the last 2 or 3 nights in BKK and you will know next time instead of wondering what you are missing.

For me it is 24 hours worth of traveling , so I am constantly on the outlook for deals in Business which I can combine with miles.
-
For European visitors there are some Low Business Class Fares with 1 stop Amsterdam- BKK for at least the next 6 months. As low as 1300 Euros. I'm sure there are other departure points besides Amsterdam for those of you who hate Economy.

He is Moop1234 on Planetromeo and I agree he his a lot of fun in bed. If my old memory is correct , he has friends he can bring for 3 ways etc.

Have stayed there and many other Centre Points in BKK. They still offer good value if you get a discounted rate but for long term stays of 2 weeks or longer, you get much better value using VRBO or AIRBNB. If you want daily maid service , you will have to arrange it separately but it will still probably come in much less then Centre Point. But for stays shorter then a week, certainly if they are offering 50% discounts (which they are now) they offer great value.

No personal experience but reviews (which I Trust) on Booking .com . Adjacent to Soi Twilight so as good as it gets in location. Rates tend to vary greatly according to dates so you may get lucky and get it at a fairly reasonable level of 1500 baht or less?

Visiters to hotels. 18 and 19 year olds banned by som hotels
firecat69 replied to Travellerdave's topic in Gay Thailand
Absolutely amazing to me that you could spend all that time in Thailand and not know the Law. You can work in Bars, Disocs etc at 18 but must be 20 to enter as a customer . Been that way for as long as I have been coming to Thailand. On weekends Silom Soi 4 where Balcony is they used to block entrance to the Soi and check id's. -
Probably need to be more patient. First your is over 2 months away and this is slow season for posters on all Thai Boards. Middle of next month people will begin to firm up plans and many will be back here on a more regular basis.

This thread started because of a supposed policy (maybe enforced) in one Hotel in BKK. It has nothing to do with Pattaya and worrying about it is just plain ridiculous! -

Absolutely Not. Then maybe they move it to 25. You let them get away with it , pretty soon they'll all be trying to charge for visitors. I always reserve for 2 people and as far as I am concerned , that is the end of it. They can ask your guest to register and prove he is 18 and nothing more. And by the way not once have I ever had a problem in at least 20 different Hotels I have stayed in. -
Bus first one at 8am http://www.belltravelservice.com. www.thelimopattaya.com if you want to reserve a car where the driver meets you after you leave baggage and takes you directly to your place of residence. Bell of course is much more reasonable , if the schedule works for you and you realize there will be some changing from Bus to Van in Pattaya for transportation to your Hotel.

Unfortunately there are few places in the world any longer that are safe. If you travel , you assume the risks and hope nothing happens to you. Too bad that useless news outlets race to report the story with no real facts. I have read 3 reports that list 2-20 dead. Really, how about waiting until you have facts instead of BS!

Tons of better options on VRBO and AIRBNB for apartment right on the beach in View Talay Complexes. Here is just one example: http://www.vrbo.com/480292 Sorry I missed you did not want to be in High Rise. Sure this type of listing will be interesting to others.

Don't let that kind go post bother you. Some people just think any new person posting something different is a troll. A bit ridiculous this time because the accusation is coming from someone with almost no posts. Trolls are usually discovered after quite a few posts and certainly not after 1 post!

The narrowest and least pitch in economy of any airline in the market. If you are 5'8" and less then 150 lbs, you might survive , otherwise awful flight even though only 7 hours.

Many friends who think this is by far the best Gay B&B in Chiang Mai Not always easy to get a reservation!
-
You have to settle for the majority. 9inch maybe a little too ambitious. hehe

Only Pattaya makes sense for such a short stay. 1. Lots of slim boys in Bars and on Social media sites 2. Easy to get around with 2 main areas for GoGo and 10 minute walk between 3. Plenty of cheap to moderate Hotels

It would still help if you tell us what kind of guys you like. Fem, Slim, Muscle etc. What would be a comfortable budget per day for Hotel. How many days will you have in Thailand. More information you give us the more likely we can advise what location might be best for you or how to split your time.

Yes if you fly a lot Domestic travel it can be worth it to use for International Upgrades. That's what I did with UA . Made Top Tier and they stop flying to Thailand essentially making the certificates worthless for me. Unless I want to sit in the worst economy in the world on ANA from Tokyo to BKK. That was enough for me. I still have enough miles for 6 RT Business Class tickets assuming they don't devalue the miles again which they certainly will. Then I will reduce my trips and lengthen the stays and make sure I start the RT in BKK rather then the USA and the fare is anywhere from 25-40% cheaper then starting the flight in the USA. I fly very little Domestic so they have made it impossible for me to earn High Levels and since you get nothing for status if you are flying Business anyways where you already get everything that mileage chasers get. Such as free baggage , early boarding etc etc etc. Same experience with DL . I will use up my miles and then may use them in the future for purchased Business tickets , since their product is far superior to UA. But airlines such as EVA , Korean etc offer a much better product at the same or less money. So eventually I will no longer fly US carriers.
-
And thus the argument is personal choice. If one can afford Business that is their choice if it makes the trip better, Likewise there are some who just cannot afford it. And then there are those who can afford it and do not see value in it. No one is right or wrong. Personal choice. The range in Hotels is not really so wide especially if you are a Premium member of some program . For instance I regularly stay in a Luxury Hilton in Bangkok for 1300 baht and some points of which I have many. For me having a fabulous pool , breakfast , room etc makes it a no brainer. Tarntawan for the same or more money or luxury at the Hilton. Yes Tarntawan is closer to Soi Twilight but Soi Twilight makes up a very small % of my time in Bangkok. I can get there anytime I want for a 70 baht taxi ride or less on the Skytrain..

Bottom Line each person has to decide how comfortable they will be doing the first trip alone. All you have to do is look at the millions of people being herded around in buses in every destination you can name, to see how popular guided tours are. Some people are lazy and do not want to spend hours reading sites like this and trip advisor and millions of pages of information available on Google. Then there is the choice of a private guide who can certainly save you some time and mistakes. For me the mistakes are part of the fun of visiting a new destination. I do tons of research and still make mistakes and get lost but that is ok because I eventually find what I want. There are exceptions of course. Angkor Wat and the whole area is very difficult to do without a guide and much less fulfilling if you just walk around with no understanding of the carvings etc. I spent quite a bit of time in Moscow without a guide and was lost many times and then ran across a student who spoke some English and he was the best thing that happened to me on my first trip. He introduced me to some of his University friends who spoke adequate English and this was the high light of my first trip to Russia. This would have never happened if I had hired a guide.

Vinapu, Your argument makes no sense . You are comparing rules that are well known and if you break them you will suffer the consequences . Maybe you don't agree with the rules but they were well known and broken with full knowledge of consequences. Many of the people taken prisoner in places such as No Korea and Iran etc were doing nothing. And trumped up charges were made and they are arrested for no reason other then the regime feels like it and in most cases theyare Westerners. Totally different situation.
