Funny how different people have different concerns. My trips are always at least 30 days , I make sure I leave enough money on my phone so that when I arrive i just call and activate unlimited 1 month data plan and a message package etc. Usually costs me 500 baht for everything for 1 month with DTAC. Simple call where they speak excellent English and that is the last time I think about my phone or waste my time going to 7/11's and buying time. That is about 1/5 the cost of the same package would cost me in the USA. I check my balance the day before I leave and make sure to add enough so that when I land in BKK it takes 3 minutes for my phone to have all that I need for 30 days. I suppose if I have a heart attack in the USA, I will have wasted leaving that amount on my phone. But in that case that small amount of money would be the least of my problems.

I don't get your last post. You have been a member for 2 years and posted almost 500 x and yet you don't like Thai boys or Sex with younger men. What possible interest does this Forum have for you? You profess to have knowledge of Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket etc . You have posted about certain Gay areas in Phuket and if I wanted to waste time I could probably find posts about Sex Streets in Bangkok and Pattaya. Where does your knowledge come from since you don't like Thai boys and especially anything to do with Sex. I don't get it???

Under that description, I think you might be happy in any of the Bars on Soi Twilight.

First of all it should be automatic to ask for the Boys ID in the Bar. No ID no off. They are well aware of this and are required to have ID if the police visit. If they don't they may not be Thai and therefore you have to decide whether to take the chance. This joiner fee question keeps cropping up even though I would guess over 90% of the Hotels in Thailand will never ask and have no right to ask if your reservation was for 2 people. On top of that most questions about Hotel policies could be answered here or simply sending an email to the Hotel confirming no Joiner fees. There are a few well known Hotels in BKK that require that and most have been outed here numerous times. You can be 100% sure any posts from members here about a Hotel would definitely mean there were no joiner fees or the member would have immediately left.

I think that term means different things to different people. Some seem to mean skinny boys even on the fem side. Some use it as age specific . Others have broader definition as I do. For me their appearance needs to be from 18-24. In Thailand you can easily see a boy who fits your age preference and he can be in his 30's. (does not bother me). I think a twink could be skinny or a swimmers build all the way up to a gymnast build. Under my definition certainly XBoys and Classic have that type of boys in their show. There may be others which more members can chime in on.

Interesting here that all the thefts mentioned here took place in massage places. I rarely visit those any longer but I was always suspicious of safety of valuables in these places. Mainly because most do not have private showers . I never wore watches etc and had limited cash with me. Now if I was to visit I would carry a waterproof pouch around my neck and the problem of theft should be eliminated.

Sorry it happened to you but it is such a rare occasion for someone to experience a theft from a Thai Money Boy, it is quite startling when it does happen. It has has happened to me twice in 15 years and I shutter to think how many offs but at least a thousand.

Sometime I just don't get it. So you spent 3 hours in Screwboys. I have to think you bought at least 2 drinks. So if you had spent the same time at 2 different Bars in Soi Twilight you might have spent 200 more baht for drinks and your total cost would have been 2800 baht versus 2600 baht at Screwboys. For 200 baht you might have gotten to see triple the number of boys. I just don't get it. I agree the prices are high in Soi Twilight and especially at DreamBoys but what you save at ScrewBoys is minuscule. Plus on non weekend or Chinese Holidays every Bar on Soi Twilight will negotiate on the 400 baht price for drinks. You just have to ask and then walk away if they say no. That's why Pattaya is the logical choice for those who don't like Soi Twilight prices . There the difference in prices is substantial.

I stopped at Lek once. Anyone who has a breakfast buffet and does not have bacon is a Joke! The prices on Soi Twilight will never go down because Asians represent 90% of their business and they could care less what the rest of us think. You could go into a lot of Bars in HongKong, Singapore etc and pay relatively the same price for a drink and they don't have any boys on stage. They don't have any Sex shows etc so many Asians think the prices are fine. And for those of us who think it is a rip off, there is Pattaya and the Apps.

Location does not matter to me as far as getting to Soi Twilight at night because Taxis are cheap and if I was still doing Massage Parlors I find Sukhumvit to have many of the good ones in easy walking distance. But the Big plus for me is I have built up millions of points with Hilton and I stay in their best Hotels for 1400 baht and (12,000 points) per night which mean nothing to me. And for that I always get up graded to an Executive room or suite. Then I get free full breakfast and snacks and drinks all day and light dinner , all for free. So I never look at the bargain Hotels . The deals in Bangkok happen to be extremely good for Hilton customers who have points to burn. Other places not so good.

We agree on a lot but there is just no way the pitiful military of the United Kingdom and Germany would last even 3 months against Russia. Russia has over 15,000 tanks compared to 900 combined of Germany and GB. They have 1700 fighter aircraft compared to 250 combined of Germany and UK. And they have 2 1/2 times as many front line fighting men as the combined forces of UK and Germany. In fact France has a better military then the UK or Germany and spends more then either one of them as a % of GDP. It would be a massacre. Yes Europe should shutter at Presidential speeches about withdrawing the kind of support. Maybe they'll wake up and spend their own money instead of relying on the largesse of the USA which can no longer afford to spend it supporting other countries. And that goes for South Korea and Japan. As someone who has travelled extensively in Europe, I think the average European has a much better life then a USA citizen. They work less hours, have much longer vacations and much better retirement and free healthcare. Yes we have bigger houses and bigger cars but at some point you have to wonder who has got it right?

I'm not sure if you phrased your argument wrong. GB and Germany together have 5% of the tanks and aircraft that Russia has. France has a bigger military then Germany in all respects and the 3 of them put together in a conventional War against Russia would last about 3 months. You think Hitler overran Europe it would be much faster by Russia and they are not even the Soviet Union any longer. Although it is true that Russia was a big reason that they lost WWII , that only happened because of the delayed entry by the Americans which meant Hitler think he could win a 2 front war. The Russians beat the Germans on that front with humans dying by the millions, not with armor or aircraft. If the USA had not entered the War , Hitler the maniac just may have won on 2 fronts. What world do you live in? USA is the only reason that all of Europe did not fall to Hitler and then we are largely responsible for the growth of Economic Power by Germany as easily the strongest economy on the European continent. Oh and by the way the USA is largely responsible for the break up of the Soviet Union and the threat of its domination of Eastern Europe. Oh and by the way Japan wanted to conquer the entire Asia Pacific region and again the only reason they were defeated was the USA. And lets not forget that Japan and Europe and South Korea have prospered because we have provided the military might that protects them. They are spend nothing on their own military and the citizens of the USA pay for their safety. I could go on and on. Without the USA the world would have been in continuous World Wars. Along the way the USA has made lots of mistake also . See how the rest of the free world would do without the USA. It would not be pretty.

I don't generally have that problem in Bangkok because I stay in Hilton or Marriott and the standards have been consistent for 15 years.

Let me put my views on TripAdvisor in context. First it has been years since I have used Trip Advisor for Hotel info in Thailand. After 15 years I know everything I need to know about Hotels in Thailand that I will use. But I travel all over the world and use Trip Advisor but looking for nuggets in the reviews. 1. Like how easy to get to Hotel from airport. 2.How helpful is the staff on restaurants , sightseeing etc. 3. What kind of job does housekeeping do. 4. If breakfast is included , what is the quality , same for Lounge. People from different parts of the world have different expectations for Hotel and can either find them favorable or unfavorable when compared to their home country. I also use Flyertalk which I find very useful for Hotel info.

Facts are a funny thing . They never go away . There have been exactly 2 PM's between Willie and I. They took place 8/31/14 and 3/4/15. 3/4/15 was a message to tell him that a Moderator had actually removed a photo he found dangerous. And his reply was that is a good thing 8/31/15 was a message I sent to him reminding him of incident where he made a complete Ass of himself in public. This was in response to a comment he made about Surfcrest banning me from Sawatdee. My message was completely factual and I can easily have it backed up by members of this and other Boards. In fact one of them is the original Owner of this Board. Those are the only 2 times we have communicated in PM's. As usual he is full of S--T.
