Hopefully Michael who has tons of experience will chip in but I am quite sure the current price is similar or less then Thailand and probably much less compared to some of the Quotes I have seen here for Tawan Boys. Also although I am not an expert I certainly have posted thousands of photos of that type and frankly unless you only like Asians , I would have to say the Brazil Boys are far more attractive then the Tawan Boys I saw on only 2 visits I made. And far more of them available!

Last few days have just been watching the Olympics in Rio. Then I began to wonder ? We have so many posters and members here who like the Tawan Type or at least very muscular and a little bit older. I have been to Rio 4 times and decided it was not for me because of the lack of what I consider Twinks. However theTawan or Muscular types that many seem to like are found in abundance in Rio and prices similar or less then Thailand. So why do we not have any members Visiting and reporting on Rio?

I am still waiting for all the personally experienced Scams.

Hot true. Just has to be covered I think?

I also remember when Sunee was fun but it has been a long long time. Some of it is the fact that many Gay visitors don't even know about Sunee and if they do can't bother finding it. Big part is the owners who have bought Bars with no experience and quickly ran them into the ground because they bought the Bar as a Hobby and had absolutely no idea how to run it. Biggest part is the Apps which have made it much easier for boys to stay in their room and wait for a customer.

Well good for you. You can think it makes perfect sense. In 5 years he has been the OP in 1 thread and that thread he accused Christian of making money by having his blog direct people to other sites. Once everyone told him he was full of S--T he quietly went away. You can continue to say all the reports of attempted scams but the fact is 90% of them are from Bucknaway. Not interested unless we have multiple members who have experienced the scam which we don't seem to have, including you who says you have never been scammed!

Here are some suggestions on another site on how to protect yourself when visiting Brazil. SOME of them apply to Thailand also. Some first time visitors might take notice.

So True!!

I am confused. Does that mean all the posters including you who have said they have never been scammed are really just not admitting they got scammed. Quite a stretch I think since the vast majority of posters have little personal interaction with other members and thus no reason not to admit they have been scammed. I have freely admitted that a thief got me for likely more money then everyone else in this thread combined as admitted to (45,000 baht). Fact I was careless and I paid for it. Also a fact I had left various Models of iPhone in the open hundreds of times with no ill effects. That made me complacent about certain doing simple things to protect myself and I changed.

Mr Z and his family are the best and any Pattaya visitor who does not go there for a meal is missing a Pattaya Institution.

You are absolutely right. I failed to see that you responded to a post on August 2, I just saw the post on Page 6.

Don't pay much attention to a 5 year member with 29 posts and the Bottom Line: Nobody is experiencing Scams and hardly any thefts except Bucknaway .
-
Leave it to you to only focus on the negative rather then the positive that the overwhelming number of members have not suffered any thefts or scams and that apparently includes you? Plus since you posted on Page 6 of 8 I guess you really read the thread long before the last 5 pages.

The only scam in this thread of any importance is you thinking that you will convince anyone that Thailand is full of thieves and scams. And instead all you are doing is convincing everyone that you should stay in your home country rather then subject yourselves to all these thieves and scams that only you seem to have so many problems with. Frankly I think you are making it all up but anyone with enough intelligence to invent all this shit should stick to writing Fiction Books because you are failing badly here. Nobody cares about your BS and you have not convinced anyone about the perils of thieves and scams in Thailand.
-
++ Yawn So because of your ineptitude at protecting yourself against thieves and your inability to recognize when you buy illegal junk that it is junk and will not work, the rest of us don't explore different parts of Thailand. Just completely ridiculous!
-
Nice to see members who don't post that much posting in this thread about never encountering thieves or scams. especially when they have had 20 or 30 trips in which to encounter all these bad people in Thailand.
-
Actually it is whether you spent 180 days in Thailand during the calendar year.

Don't know Fortune Town Mall but if is not a mall carrying International Brands then likely they will never have a VAT sticker on their store. Thus probably hard to find said sticker in MBK , TukCom or similar malls. http://www.bangkok.com/shopping-vat-refund.htm# Easy to Google and find out what restrictions are on VAT refunds. As far as intellectually superior, since I had a brand new iPhone stolen, which I reported in this thread. My fault I should have known better then to leave a 45,000 baht phone where it could be stolen from boys who are lucky to make that much in 3 months.. I learned from my mistake. Apparently some don't learn from their mistakes and continue to put money where it is available to be stolen. The scams reported here are much smaller then the actual thefts of money to you and Buckanway. Certainly neither one of you appears to take steps to protect that money. I am 99.9% sure I have never had money stolen from me in my room, taxi, massage parlor. I would not be surprised if I sometimes did not get the right change in a Bar. I can be careless about counting change from a 1000 baht bill. But usually I use 100 baht bills so if it happened it is my fault. It is also extremely rare to be scammed when you are buying Brands from reputable stores. PanTip Plaza is at the top of stores not to be trusted and their are others in BKK and they all deal in illegal merchandise. If you buy from crooks expect to get scammed.
-
There is a minimum amount of each purchase to be eligible for VAT return. Whatever it is , my guess is you did not exceed it. Also likely you were dealing with a shop that does not pay its required taxes thus will not apply for refunds. Somehow I doubt MBK stores and TukCom in Pattaya pay the required taxes. Plus you cannot have been in Thailand 180 days in the last 12 months. I would guess you fail again. Oh and the store has to have a VAT sticker in their window. Anyone want to bet you did not qualify?? HeHe I looked it up . Has to be at least 5000 baht.

When someone reports a large number of .scams and i am sure more coming, then the question has to be asked why is he subject to those scams . No one else seems to have these multiple problems. It is not like we have a lot of first trip 7 day visitors in this thread. Many posters have spent at least as much or more time in Thailand without these problems. Maybe the rest of us are too stupid to know we have been scammed but I doubt it. I don't doubt there are scammers in Thailand, I just don't think it is much of a problem. And someone who acts like there is a scam or a thief around every corner does a disservice to a country that gives most of us a lot of pleasure with minimal problems. So for all the people who have never visited Thailand but hope to in the future. The hundreds or thousands of non- member , non-poster who read this forum: Pack your bags and enjoy a wonderful country and take simple precautions you would use anywhere such as not knowingly buying fakes and expect to get anything but junk for your money.
-
And essentially that means nothing . If you did your research as you say you did you would have know junk stops working. It may stop working in 1 day or 1 week or 1 month but it is junk and it will stop working . If it was an Apple I can't imagine why anyone would buy a copy. It is well known the batteries suck, there is no Siri function, you cannot download apps from the App Store you must register the serial number and you don't have one and the list goes on and on. You would be much better off buying a legitimate Google phone.

So many things to answer? HeHe . Possible you need to read more carefully . A substantial majority of the posters in this thread have never experienced a scam unless you count a taxi trying to charge a flat rate which most agree with me is not a scam. One member has experienced more scams then all the rest of the posters put together and I have no doubt he will think of more. One member seems to be careless with his companions and money and thus has suffered a number of thefts. Many members have said they have never experienced any scams or thefts and take note that most of them have been to Thailand many many nights on many many trips. As far as Budapest and Prague , the scams involved rigged meters on taxis and visits to supposed Brothels. I was armed with knowledge of taxis but it is damn hard to avoid the crooks even with foreknowledge . Maybe they have UBER now and those problems would be solved . Of course visitors to BKK could also use UBER or the other company . Now as someone who has probably visited more massage parlors then any member which are certainly a great spot to have money etc stolen. Please tell us how many thefts you have experienced and please tell us about all the scams you have been subjected to. And by the way I do think in general that Thais are more honest then many Asian countries. But it is just my opinion based on thousands of days spent in Thailand with no problems of any kind 99% of the time.
