  1. Unfortunately they are a great airline and they charge like it. Also Singapore is one of the most expensive Asian cities. I can spend 3 weeks in Bangkok for what 1 week costs in Singapore. Wonderful modern city but just too expensive.
  2. The Heavens may open up. Vinapu went home with a Twink. We need proof of a photo! HaHa
  3. It is more likely to be asked on departure , if your ticket does not have a return flight. If you depart from USA soil it would be unusual if you were not asked for proof of departure reservation from Thailand or have an actual visa in your passport.
  4. For those of you looking to travel next year air fares have become ridiculously low. Lots of $600 fares from East Coast USA. $500 from West Coast. Even saw fares in the $400's from certain European cities. Been awhile since this low!! I use Vayama recently but most search engines will have the fares.
  5. I've been milking it for 15 years and I doubt it will ever stop. I know there are lots of countries that don't get those kind of offers, but luckily the USA does and I'll be dead before they stop.
  6. Can't help you. I believe Barclays is a British Company. They want to give me 40,000 AA airline miles after I spend $1. I guess since AMX, Chase , Citi are some the biggest companies in the world they have figured out they do not lose money. Otherwise they would not do it year after year. If anyone cares to learn rather then tell me I don't know what I am talking about here is a link to 1 Blog, and you have to go backwards and keep reading past issues. http://millionmilesecrets.com
  7. If the bunch of you don't understand it I can't help you . In the last 6 months I have gotten 100,000 miles for DL on AMX offer, 115,000 miles that I can use on UA or any of their partners with a Chase offer. 40,000 miles on AA from Barclays by spending just $1. I will sign up for another 75,000 from Citi sometime next year and on and . You have to plan the buys so that you can meet the offer requirements which vary from $1 on Barclays to $5000 spent in 3 months on some Chase business cards. All those miles and point cost me a few hundred combined and are worth thousands in travel. Just for instance in the last 5 years I have stayed at the best Hiltons and Marriotts all over the world and the most cash I ever paid was $50 per night. Guess some of you need to learn something. Oh and by the way when I was accumulating a lot of points when I was working, I could care less if my employer was paying the bills. They cost me nothing and I got the points and miles.
  8. There you go again with that Self Esteem BS. HeHe. I pay far less to stay at Hilton Sukhumvit then your budget hotels. Sometimes free with points and sometimes as high as 1300 baht plus much reduced number of points. In any case way less then you pay at Raya sometimes and many times FREE!!
  9. In Pattaya I love Dr Tapasit. Not the cheapest but trained in the USA and worked in NJ for 10 years. I have had a number of dentists and he is the best and his practice has great Oral Surgeons >
  10. The place I recommend definitely does not charge tourist prices. They are a small % of what I pay in the USA Once a year practically I had a front tooth cap that would break. It is part of a bridge and they would repair it until Broke it again. Usually in the chair an hour and the bill would be a 1000 baht which frankly is a joke, At least 10x that in the USA when I had the same thing done.
  11. you missed it was Business Class and twice the distance.
  12. Although my favorite dentist in the world is in Pattaya, I had very good luck at this place and just 2 minute walk off Silom on Saladaeng. Very fair prices and caring personnel. When you click on the link it comes up Bangkok Smile but it is one and the same. Open nights also and 7 days a week. http://www.silomsmiledental.com
  13. Interesting. Of course fares are always much lower when your trip starts in in BKK, The amazing thing is that I checked a couple of search engines I usually use and Hainan never comes up. Which site did you find them on.? I went to their site and found similar fares . All things being equal I prefer staggered seats . Glad you made it but I never fly into Chicago during winter time. Disaster always waits with weather cancellations.
  14. The fact remains there is no way to book Hotels individually unless you already know where you want to stay. You have to use one of a hundred sites on which you can look for the best price. some have useless reviews but those like Booking can be quite informative. When you are traveling and you plans change it can be a hassle to change your reservations , trying to actually communicate with a Hotel . They may or may not reply to an email in a timely fashion. Yet a mobile app like Booking all can e taken care if in seconds including refunds, date changes etc. Of course in rare cases you may get a lower rate from a Hotel but my experience has been unless you are a known customer, you will rarely get the best rate from the Hotel.
  15. Once you have ade a certain number of completed bookings, you get elevated to Genius. I honestly do not know what the number is.
  16. Well I get the Genius discount on Booking which can be quite good. Irarely get asked for any deposit or at most 25% and always have been fully refundable.
  17. I have posted many reviews on Trip Advisor all over the world. Mainly Hotels, Vacation Rentals, Restaurants. I would guess 90% of them have been positive because of the work I did reading reviews on Booking, Trip Advisor etc. No matter how careful you are you will select some failures . It goes with the territory!
  18. The bottom line is who cares unless you own the site. I don't choose a site based on how popular it is but rather the context of the posts. Just like I stop going to a site where I don't like the posts.
  19. Does sound Fucked UP.. Can't you put a significant amount of money in dividend paying stocks and then after 1 year submit your application as retired ( living on dividends). Even if your partner contributed to the account. Of course that assumes you have significant assets that would generate the amount of dividends needed to qualify.
  20. If you were going to pay the rate at Meridian then why not go to the Crowne Plaza. Very convenient to Soi Twilight and no problem with guests as a couple of members have mentioned. As always make sure your reservation is for 2 people.
  21. Give it a rest. We have heard enough from you on this subject! And now at the end of 4 pages you tell us it has never been a problem for you because you never pay for it. What a waste of time!!
  22. Good Luck finding any boy with good performance from Jupiter . Better odds with a Lottery ticket.
  23. I have known a number of boys who have been happy with older guys they met for many years. There will always be a money component and you have to be able to accept it . But you always need to remember a much younger Love interest has to be able to have friends his own age and most importantly it is unlikely you will ever understand the way Thai boys feel towards their family and their wants not necessarily needs. Hope that makes some sense?
  24. Maybe you just don't get it. Most families are not particularly interested in the sex lives of their relatives. They are interested in their health and well being. Also I did not alert family members of every trip I took anywhere in the world nor did they always tell me about their trips. Perhaps you just come from a family that is too nosey or you just are too generous with your travel information.
