Basically what you say is true except the comment about things being dead by samebb. If activity is dead due to lack of customers then it is likely few will be satisfied by what is on offer for boys. No customers no boys. Good Boys is a different animal as it is not a GoGo Bar and probably never had a gay goy in the place except if dragged in there by a customer.

Willie is right . Lots of good steps . However longevity of those steps beyond a few months is what counts. FunnyBoys forever a top notch bar because of Manager Rose. Consistent for years . Rose left and quick slide and then complete failure. Toy Boys at the top because of good consistent management. For years in Sunee Kaos had great management and then that owner/manager moved to NiceBoys which at least is still in business after many years. Boyz Boyz Boyz for years was successful and then owner/ manager lost interest and Bar faltered . New management and Bar returns to its old Glory. It is not easy to run a Gay Bar in Thailand and even harder to remain committed to be there every night which is the only way it will be successful. Just ask the German at DreamBoys in BKK. Fabulous manager and as other Bars on that street change management or go out of business and return Dream Boys has the most customers and the most Boys. He knows his audience and how to maximize his income. I take my hat off to him even though I hardly ever go there anymore because of what I consider to be excessive prices. The Soi's are littered with Gay Bars that start up great and then just start to go downhill until they finally fail. Only time will tell if this owner has the desire and smarts to last many years.

I have stayed at many other smaller Hotels in BKK other then the Chains but mid range in prices. Again never a problem. But I always reserve for 2 and it is none of the Hotels business who the additional guest is. The most they can ask for is to check the ID In addition to the Holiday Inn Silom there is and Indian Managed Hotel on Silom that is famous for refusing joiners. Again the odds are greatly in your favor to have no problems.. Some are bothered by having to register guest, I am not but it has rarely happened. In Pattaya it is hard for me to imagine a Joiner FEE. The town would dry up and disappear without Sex Joiners. I have heard the Hilton is a problem but have never stayed there because I usually stay next door at View Talay which is 1/4 the price and offers all the things I need including a nice big room with kitchen and multiple services in the building.

I've said it before . In BKK it would be unusual to have any problem if you reserved the room for 2 people. Most you'll have to give guests ID. There are always exceptions but it is overwhelmingly in your favor!

I've stayed in every Hilton, most Marriotts and most Holiday Inns. Only the Holiday Inn Silom was ever a problem. Most never ask for anything . Just walk in like you own the place and make sure guest is decently dressed.

I think there have been 4 failures at that location so odds are not particularly good especially when you will miss most of high season.

Interesting how the continuous good reports about Jomtien have even changed some members thoughts about where to stay or at least where to spend some time. Thus the real value of this Board!

Of course there is no formula except reading the posts of the member and seeing if he posts anything useful rather then attacking people. For instance you are a fairly new member but anyone could point to many wonderful posts that you have made about your experiences . I certainly have enjoyed them and marveled at your ability to recount experiences long after they have happened. But then there are members who have never posted any thing except an attack on another member or replied in the negative about everything. They are the ones who almost are never the OP but just want to pick fights while contributing nothing to the discourse. Somehow I think you know the difference??

We also need to remember performance is quite different depending if you want a Top or Bottom. A top may have a lot harder time performing then a Bottom who can just quietly lie there and be doing his job although some enthusiasm always helps. Yes I know there is Kamagra etc to help them but even boys have problems getting it hard at times. When I was a regular Bar customer , I offed many new boys who naturally promise you the world and then realize they would rather not do certain things. Attitude from them is important and 95% of the cases they still got the minimum tip. Maybe their English was not good and they did not understand you in the Bar or maybe the rent is due and they are desperate for an off. At any rate I took them out of circulation and they deserve the minimum IMHO. I even tipped the 7 losers I took from Jupiter although in no case did they deserve it. But I was stupid enough to keep repeating the mistake of offing from there so I deserve to pay. But the Bar only deserves 2 things from me. If I sit down, I have to buy a drink and if I take a boy I have to pay the off fee. Other then that they deserve nothing. Some members here decide that they are paying for the show so think of it a s a cover charge. That is fine except for someone like me who almost never stays for the show or only enters a Bar after the Show has finished . Soi Twilight Bars still charge me the same outrageous prices even though I have no interest in the show or ever stay. I remember when the shows were worth staying for. Now in comparison they are a joke IMHO. I get that some people like the shows because they have never seen 2 boys fucking on a stage or any of the other stupid things like using their dicks to play miniature golf. At some point those repetitive shows become useless to most long time visitors . Again I get that it is a lot different for 7-10 day visitors vs 30-60 day visitors like me .

You have been a member for 4 months and have contributed almost nothing positive since you have been here. It might be because you have never even been to Thailand? I have been a member since the site existed and not only have contributed and shared information here but have it made it plain I have no use for people who try to cheat the boys or grind their tips down because the boys might be desperate. The Bars are doing just fine in BKK with their inflated prices because they have the Chinese. Otherwise they would all be charging 40% less or be out of business. I'm not interested in providing them their 800-2000% mark up except for my drink. I've owned 3 Bars and if I had those kind of mark ups I'd be living in a castle on the Beach with my own private GoGo Bar . HeHe. So do us all a favor and go back to the Board you used to be at unless you have something positive to post.

My point was that if boys thought there customers in general were going to be young Asians they were living in a Dream World. As far as buying a boy a drink. If you knew anything about Thailand the phrase "Up to You" is generally the guide. I walk into a Bar I am obliged to buy myself a drink and nothing else. If I choose to buy a boy a drink that is my choice not yours and certainly not the Bars. I have never called a boy over who has not got a minimum of 100 baht tip even if just a minute or two with me. Sometimes they may get as much as 200 baht. I have never sat down in a Bar and left without tipping boys on stage a 100 baht at times as many as four. Now even though you are brain dead what do you think the boys like better that I distributed 100 baht bills to boys on stage or let the Bar rob me for another 350 baht drink or more.. Besides that there are many different type of Bars. If I am in a Beer Bar I would always buy a boy a drink because that Bar is not charging an exorbitant price for my drink. Same in Pattaya I am more likely to buy a Boy a drink then I am in BKK because the Bar is not trying to rob me quite as much. And by the way I don't need 30 minutes to decide if the Boy is a likely off. Many times the decision is made quickly and either I off him in which case buying him a drink makes no sense or I know it will not work out and tip him and send him back to the stage to look for another customer from whom he might get an off. Again which do you the think the boy like better. There are times I have invited a boy to sit with me just as the show is starting and if I intend to stay for the show (unlikely) then I do feel compelled to buy him a drink. At any rate I don't tell you how to spend your money so you should keep your mouth shut as to how I spend my money.

Stupid Reply! He had bought a drink and will pay an off fee. The Bar has done just fine. In fact especially in BKK where drink prices are way too high, I rarely buy the boy a drink and instead slip him money if I don't off him. He is happier and the Bar already got plenty of money from me . If I like the Boys on stage I might have to talk to 2 or 3 boys before I find the one I want to take home. And sure I am not going to buy them 400 baht drinks where they get 50 baht if they are lucky. They are much happier getting a discreet 1-200 baht depending on time spent.

I would never compare my experiences with Romeo or Hornet anywhere else in world with Thailand. There is no comparison! I have had some good experiences in Spain and mixed experiences in Poland . Pretty good experiences in Colombia and mediocre experiences in Mexico. Overall outside of Thailand mediocre. In Thailand at least as good as the Bars and so much less expensive when taking into account drink prices, tips, off fees and sometimes inflated fees for service. But always keep in mind my trips to Thailand are a minimum of 1 month and usually much longer. Bars lose their interest quickly!

Exactly! And in my use which is extensive , I am rarely disappointed and when I am it has more to do with performance then looks. And of course that is the same thing that can happen taking a Boy from a Bar who says he does everything and then when in the bedroom the except thats come out.

Hey like I said to each its own.Can't imagine myself having any interest in Jomtien Beach. When I first visited Pattaya the beach used to have tons of boys, now they are a rare commodity. Thai Boys don't like the sun and would much rather be in their room on Hornet since the Apps have become so popular. If you are an all night person then I get why Bars might be a better choice although certainly it is no problem finding boys for all night. Good thing about the Apps you can tell the boy you want short time and if he is a Star then extend him When you tell a boy in a Bar , you want him all night you are pretty much stuck with him . IMHO

I just pulled 6 images of Hornet in Pattaya. 1/2 of them I know and can vouch for the photos being true likenesses. I would bet the other 3 also are true representations. Some have or may still work in Bars. For those of you that get Horney at 6am, noon, 6pm, 3am etc give it a try. You may find you like it. It does not have to be a replacement for the Bars but just an extra vehicle to get a cute boy in your bed and save you some money in the bargain.

First let me say I have never used a taxi in Pattaya. But complaints about taxis in BKK are just plain ridiculous. In the 2 1/2 years I lived in BKK I used taxis hundreds of time and in shorter visits over 15 years again many hundreds of times. The times they did not want to turn on the meter is minuscule , maybe 2-3%. They all occurred in front of or close to Soi Twilight and near Patpong Market on Silom. They were easily avoided by flagging down a moving taxi . In front of Soi Twilight especially if it was raining I would agree to 100 baht for what I know is a 60 baht fare. (Big Deal) Bottom line there is nowhere in the world that you get mostly clean and comfortable taxis with great availability at such low fares. Hell in Europe 1 ride would pay for a week of taxis in BKK. Of all the things to complain about in Thailand taxis, would not even make my list. Now Pattaya a completely different story . What taxis there are, all are crooks that have never turned the meter on. If you want to hire a baht bus to take you directly somewhere it will cost you at least double what the same distance would cost you in BKK. And for that princely fare you get to ride in a broken down pick up truck without a/c vs. a modern A/c equipped taxi in BKK. Now baht bus travel is great value as long as you don't mind sharing it with a dozen other passengers and taking only the routes they travel on.

I mainly agree with you except the comment about the princely sum of 2-400 baht. Don't know where you are going but in BKK your drink and 1 for the boy is a quick 800- 1000. And if you decide not to take the boy then another 800- 1000 at the next bar and on and on until you find the perfect match and then another 500 for the off fee. Oh and let's not forget the tip for the boy will be 500-1000 higher then the app. All adds up to a tidy sum. Truth is less and less value compared to many other places in the world unless you only do overnights like Vinapu and then the value continues to be very good. Now if you only go to Pattaya then those prices are probably 1/2 as much but still if you don't hit Gold with the first boy you invite the money still adds up pretty fast . Of course some are comfortable not buying boy a drink ( I am not) And again major difference between a 7-14 day visitor and a 60- 90 day visitor.

As I mentioned in another post there is no right answer. Some have a preference for Bars or Apps or both. The apps for those who want overnights are probably not the best option. But for those who don't limit our needs for Sex to night time then Bars etc are useless. I wake up in the morning and want someone , there are no Bars etc . 3am in the morning same , 5pm same . So if you limit your sex to normal sleeping hours then Bars are a good choice. The vast majority of posters here who say apps are of no use to them have never used them. The boys have figured out where the customers are which is why the overwhelming % of available boys in Pattaya are on the Apps even if they also work in the Bars or even Massage Parlors. Sometimes it also makes a difference the length of your trip. A 7-10 day trip maybe you can go to multiple Bars every night. When you visit 30-60 days unless you are an alcoholic , going to Bars every night, not only is expensive but not good for your liver if you drink. Hell when i lived in BKK, I was on Soi Twilight at least 5 nights a week for the first year , and then I discovered Planet Romeo and not only found boys who were not in the sex trade but at least as good looking and many times better looking. The same boys I used to drool over walking in Siam Paragon. Those boys are not available in the Bars. So if you have not tried the apps, don't criticize them and if you have used it once or twice and were not satisfied that is no different in going to Jupiter and getting nothing for your money.

I have to laugh every time I read this excuse for not using the apps. First of all I get it some people like the drinking and the shows and that is fine. But seeing the goods for an excuse is laughable. I have had just as many boys taken from a Bar that in daylight did not look so perfect as they did in the dim lights of a Bar. Or a really cute boy on stage with masculine body (not muscles) and he comes out to leave with a customer in high heels. I can't count the number of boys I have offed from Bars and PlanetRomeo and apps. 85% of the boys who arrived at my door looked like the photos . Some may have looked a bit older which does not worry me. 10% were not the boy in the photos but were at least as good looking and sometimes better. 5% were a complete dissapointment and sent away with taxi fare. On average in Pattaya 75% of the boys I hired from PlanetRomeo or Apps worked in the Bars presently or in the past. No discernible difference in level of performance between offs from Bars or online.

And the best thing is there are boys available 24 hours a day. Last time I checked no GoGo Bars or Massage parlors with any hours like that!

Glad to see a Brazil visitor deciding to spread his wings. I think you will be surprised. Many different opportunities from Brazil and its Saunas. Choices of GoGo Bars, Beer Bars, Massage Parlors , Discos all of which will provide you with opportunities. Don't forget the Apps on your phone and it is likely you will get it free in many cases . Specific questions here will get you the best responses and you need to tell us what levels of comfort , food , transportation etc that you are comfortable with. Then don't forget you need to report on all your experiences here as payback for the information you receive.

Everybody has a different level at where they feel they are being ripped off. I walk out of Soi Twilight and know meter fare on Taxi to Renaissance Hotel would be 60 baht and taxi wants 200 , I will not pay it. I might say 100 and 90% of the time it will be accepted and I just can't be bothered walking up the Soi stopping taxis to save 40 baht. And sometimes I just close the door and flag down one until I get the meter. Then I almost always give the driver 100 if the meter sats 60, So same same! But my choice. Now if I am with a boy then the first one who says 100 or meter will get the fare since I want to get back to room as soon as possible. (hehe) I have said it before that I have been all over the world and have found no place where the quality of most taxis are so high and the fares so ridiculously low. A 5 minute taxi ride in NYC, Montreal, London, LosAngeles etc costs more then a 30- 45 minute ride to the airport and except for London the quality of the car most times much better in Bangkok. It is just laughable to me that visitors will pay the same at McDonalds, Starbucks, Pizza places that they will in their home countries and will pay 500 baht for a 10 baht can of soda in a Bar and then want to take out their frustrations about money on a hard working taxi driver or motorcycle driver. I just don't get it! Most cities in the world it costs more to take a bus from the airport or the train then it does to take a taxi from Swampy to the BKK Hotel. Now if taxi, motorbike fares had been going up at the same rate as drinks on Soi Twilight or as off fees, or minimum tips to boys then there would be something to complain about.
