Just proves Bar cannot only be different on different days but on the same day and thus the only real way to tell if the Bar will become a personal favorite is to visit a number of times. Also be interesting to see what happens when drink prices return to normal.

Alex303, Maybe you are looking at it through your friends eyes rather then reality. In reality these boys know many stories of a visitor looking to be their BF and it goes alright for awhile and then the one who is paying decides he just saw a new boy and he wants to try him and then maybe the monthly stipend stops. With good reasons on both sides there is little reason to trust in a long term result. And yes I know personally of some that have lasted for a long time but they are a small % and the fault may be with either or both. But the person with the money is always in the better position then the boy is to continue his life. So don't be so easy to judge a boy who has no reason to trust and thus looks to increase his chances. For anyone who does not live in Thailand or take the boy to his country, there is very little chance it will be a real romance that will last the test of being a couple.

I don't quite agree with that. In many cases members may not know a single member or may know 1 or 2 and so no reason not to voice their experiences and of course the few members who know many other members, I would expect that information to be shared for their protection. I can't even add up the boys I have seen in 15 years but I'm sure it is over 1000. 1 theft, it was a big one that I posted about . Assuming what you say in general about Vietnam is correct in Saigon, then Hanoi must be the polar opposite. No problem with negotiations of any kind with cab drivers. restaurants although I did arm myself with the knowledge of which Taxi companies to trust. No problem finding Bottoms in Hanoi and I gather no problem finding Viet Top boys in BKK . For some reason all the Bottoms are staying in Hanoi.

I certainly would not paint a Bar with that Brush. The Bar hires attractive boys (in their opinion) in order to sell drinks and get off fee. They don't do background check nor could they and : 1. Anyone who leaves hundreds lying around is at fault for stupidity. Cologne happens all the time . Just buy the fake cologne , and they'll never take it. 2. The BF story happens all the time . It has nothing to do with the Bar but more with a gullible customer that thinks a few days or even a few weeks can find him a sincere BF. Yes as always there are exceptions and some have found long time BF's but in almost all cases they had to be willing to not look for the next cute boy. So what should they be surprised when the boy looks for the next rich customer. The Bars sell drinks and offs and cannot assume responsibility for stupidity. Oh and by the way we have a recent story about someone ranting and raving about money being stolen and then he found where he had hidden it and forgotten. ( just saying)

Those 2 thoughts are not mutually exclusive. Yes I praised his updates usually made the same day he visits the bar that does not mean I cannot question how his opinion can do a 180 degree change in 3 days. And you just made my point by remembering my praise for his regular updates.

In the first post, he said it was wonderful , lots of attractive GoGo Boys ( no mention of too many twinks which he does not like) better then Toy Boys. 3 days later nothing but twinks and he will not return anytime soon. My point was if he liked the selection of boys on the first visit and did not like too many twinks 3 days later , it would seem to make sense that different nights means different customers and different selection of boys on offer. This is quite normal in many Bars. I doubt they pulled a bus up to the door after his praised visit and removed all the boys he liked and replaced them 3 days later with nothing but twinks that he does not like. Possibly the boys he liked 3 days earlier had been offed by his 2nd visit. So why does he feel constrained to say he will not return anytime soon. Just an observation, if you don't get it then move on!

Sounds a lot like my opinion of Jupiter Boys. You just need to recognize most are Tops only and move on from there if that does not suit you. Although I do have to say I had no problem finding Bottoms in Hanoi. Not sure what that says?

Thanks A447a. Considerably less then BT and I'm sure drink prices are also. You are right some people have gone forward with the story to make it that they are closing down. But if it is for sale at that price (and probably less then it tells me he is sick the business and he is making very little money if any. So we will see in a few months when Low Low season hits if he continues to go to work or lets the business go downhill until it is worth nothing like many other GoGo Bars in Sunee.

I am guessing the model does not work at the price structure. If they raise their drink prices to the same as BT Bars , but then how many of the expats will flee is the question. Since I have not been there in over a year it would be interesting for someone to chime in with what they charge for various drinks.

Well technically Power Boys has changed names and owners ( and been closed) at least twice that I can remember and neither one of them is technically in Sunee Plaza. I never said Eros was making or losing money just that the asking price was pretty low for a Bar if it actually made money. I commented how much it had to make to return your 1.3 million if you did not consider your own time in a 3 year period... You have to average making 1150 baht per day profit in order to get your money back in 3 years. Pretty minuscule sum to make , so thus my comment that the price seemed low for a Bar that some seem to think makes money. Which of course leads to the question of whether it does make money?

There is an old line. If you want to become a millionaire running a Bar in Thailand. Start with 10 million. And if you win the Lottery you would be much better off getting a large house and filling it up with boys and all the friends you would have to visit.

Only a someone who knows nothing about Pattaya or spends no time in BT would argue that fact.

First of all I should have said over 52 weeks which is all that counts. Makes no difference if you have big weeks in December and January if you are losing massive amounts May-November. Having seen asking prices over years in Sunee, this is actually a small amount he is asking. You only have to have profits of 8-9000 baht per week to pay for your investment in 3 years if you don't value your own time . Having to be there every night to make sure you are not robbed blind. And of course nobody will pay asking price so you have to assume the required amount of profit is even less. I'll admit the Bar holds no interest for me as a customer and I have a hard time remembering their pricing structure for drinks. However I am pretty sure they can't charge for drinks what Boystown Bars charge because their customer base are ex pats who won't pay those prices . And yet the prices they have to pay the police etc probably are the same. If I agree that Eros is a profitable and successful Bar which I don't , it would be the only Bar in Sunee that I can remember that has opened and lasted for any length of time in the last 5 years and of course many have closed . The reason is simple . 80% or more of the Visitors who frequent BT Bars have never been to Sunee or in many cases even know that it exists.

The asking price says it all. He is losing money every week and he wants to find a sucker to buy it from him in Low Season which it definitely will be by the time any deal might close.

How ridiculous. He praises a Bar and then 3 days later says he won't return anytime soon. As a long term resident he should know better then anyone every night is different in a Bar. Sometimes they have customers and sometimes they do not . Sometimes certain types of boys are there and sometimes they are not . He says his earlier report was a one time experience but then says he won't return after another one time experience. I don't get it???

First of all I don't understand what that has to do with your post I responded to. To my knowledge no one here has ever promoted underage boys , girls etc. Quite the contrary , there have been numerous warnings on this Forum about checking ID's and even a little bit suspicious , move on and don't take the chance. Visitors who are not comfortable with Thai ID's should stay in a Hotel where the ID is checked such as Tartawan in BKK or gay Hotels in Boystown Pattaya. Members who like Tawan boys don't have to worry about that because I doubt they have ever had even and 18 year old working there. Many of the other Bars both on Soi Twilight and Pattaya have all sorts of boys who in the eyes of some push that envelope. You are quite right however many boys that you might think are 18-19 turn out to be 25 or older. I've told the story before of a regular boy I had from XBoys on Soi Twilight. I probably saw him 30-50 times . I never asked his age and if asked I would have guessed 22 maybe 23. Then 1 day I saw him online on a Gay Thai site and saw he was 32. So yes Thai boys do in almost all cases look much younger then they are.

Pray tell what is the difference between a 55 year old with a 24 year old or a 70 year old with an 18 year old or an 80 year old with a 28 year old. It is all the same old men chasing youth and being willing to pay for it if necessary which of course it is in most cases. They visit Thailand to pay for Sex with partners much younger then themselves whether Gay or Straight. Now as in everything there are exceptions of young people who visit and find Sex easily available for a movie, meal etc and in some cases they may be Rice Queens or Asians from other countries where they feel more repressed. Some people start believing the BS they tell friends and family about , loving food, temples, culture. They may like those things but if no Sex was available with partners much younger their visits would cease. The only problems with people in Thailand would be Russians, Arabs etc. who pretend they are disgusted . Many of those nationalities have a different decision behind closed doors. But You should be aware of countries you visit as far as public displays of affection.
