Can assure you that the local clientele take good advantage of the promotions. On a few occasions, I recognized some repeat customers going to of from showers so it appears the savings does make a difference.
Although some of the SK guys could hold their own vs the tonier spas, the majority fall into guy-next-door category and that suits me just fine. I think at least half of the bars do a good job of posting photos and particulars.
I usually come for two-month visits so the discounts I found useful. On last trip purchased three promotions at Phetboy alone. Very satisfied with results and savings.

Given that Saphan Khwai shops originally catered to local clients—and I believe a significant portion of their current business still comes from local patrons—the 100 THB savings per session can be a good deal for them. However, for more transient customers like us, this may not offer optimal value.

Package deal means shops gets more money upfront. Especially during low season, this is crucial to keep the shop afloat with rental payment etc. Make sense to me.

For the all men onsen, think it is primarily for gay cruising spot although it can just be a place just to chill/relax and window shop for eye candies.  I am not too sure about the prevalence of MB in these spots - my guess that its not too common.

I love the way you describe the Jupiter guys - and I agree totally.
BUT, when I was @vinapu in August at Jupiter - we had the privilege to sit upstairs where most of the guys did not keep the 'constipated model' look - until they would descend the stairs onto the stage for Showtime - where constipation is required.
and what a happy ending - you helped the guy to release his tension from 1 week of constant constipation

Whilst I have heard some reports of the burgeoning "onsen" scene in Bangkok, I have never been to any. No interest ever, even though I am a fan of true Japanese onsens.
I've heard that - maybe you'll confirm in due course - whilst the original rules in the Bangkok places were full nakedness like in Japan, it was impossible to demand it in the Thai places, so now there is an uncomfortable mix of naked and covered men. Moreover, despite a lot of mutual looking, the places are very strict on new-found couples progressing to "action".
Also (if I may be an onsen snob 😉) , what the Thais call an "onsen" is not a true onsen, since a true onsen uses mineralised water from geothermal sources - and indeed the water feels different. Using municipal water and warming it up does not count.

Little factoids like these are very helpful. The bars are incentivised to make money from selling drinks to people who primarily come in to watch the show. The boys however may be the ones paying the price. The offing customer may be marginalised because of several consequences of the showbar effect (no seats left, too many women), and so the rate at which boys are offed may be lower than it could be.
To make up, boys (and mamasans) may be pushing for higher compensation whenever they get off'd.

Macaroni is spot on , boys at both soi 4 bars have  limited opportunity to promote themselves as here's either show and/ or in case of Jupiter , singing with boys hidden in the corner

Agree with Saphan Kai observation. I never ask about kissing in massage shops. If it happens, it happens.
Since I like to spend 10 minutes or so massaging my masseur, it usually occurs during that time, and only if the guy seems comfortable with me.

This was my second time with Nine on this trip, and my fourth overall. The experience was just as enjoyable as ever, though some of his stories and banter were starting to get a bit repetitive—like how he used to work in construction in Bangkok before switching to being a bar boy because it’s more fun and pays better. It can get a little monotonous, but the image of him as a construction worker always gives me a little thrill. Such a fantasy!
When we arrived at the hotel, everything fell into place like clockwork. Nine put our 7-11 haul in the fridge while I started microwaving the snacks we bought. He even washed the cups and cutlery I’d been too lazy to clean before I left, which left me feeling a bit embarrassed but also giggling inside at how domesticated we seemed—like a couple.
We had a lively conversation over drinks and snacks. When we eventually ran out of topics, Nine suggested we head to the shower, which I definitely didn’t decline. I took my time, savoring the moment and appreciating the fine-looking gentleman with me. It’s a shame the room didn’t have a bathtub!
We continued our session on the bed, and afterward, we spent the rest of the night and early morning with him watching random stuff on his phone while I cuddled up next to him. Normally, I get annoyed when guys are glued to their phones during downtime, but this time it didn’t bother me at all. I enjoyed relaxing while he had his space, taking thoughtful breaks every now and then to smile and give me a quick kiss. I couldn’t complain.
Nine left after breakfast, marking the start of my last full day before heading home. I’m playing it cool today, feeling quite satisfied with the “boy buffet” Bangkok has offered me this time around.
I made a mental note to skip the bars and just choose between 7 or Nine for my final hurrah.
With most of my stuff already packed and my shopping list completed (a rare feat!), I had a full afternoon and evening to enjoy.
For my last boy massage of the trip, I headed to Prince Spa around 4 p.m. It wasn’t busy—there was a reasonable number of boys available, and the Papasan said more were on the way. I wasn’t complaining, though, because the current roster was already making it hard to choose. That’s when I spotted Boat, the guy I’d chosen last time and had a great time with. I wasn’t in the mood for risks, so I made the safe choice.
 
“Nice to see you again,” Boat said as he led me to the room. One thing to note: the massage area is so dark, with only LED candles lighting the way. I’m always a little panicked, thinking I’ll bump into a wall while navigating the place.
As expected, Boat didn’t disappoint. The intensity and passion he brought to the session surprised me, and I found myself reciprocating more than usual. Being at the end of my trip, my energy level was low, but his enthusiasm was contagious, and I felt my energy rise.
I left feeling satisfied and made sure my tip reflected that. As I walked back to the hotel, I felt like I was floating from the amazing session.

If you mean that only about 30% of the time are the boys open to kissing, then I'd say that would be my observation too. I also have the feeling that the percentage may be a bit higher in the slightly more expensive places like Arena, Jey Spa, maybe Prince (but I haven't made that many visits to Prince) + boys from gogo bars, and lower (like 20%?) in the Saphan Khwai shops. More likely than not, though, my experience is just the luck of the draw. It's not as if I have a huge sample size to base my views on.

Just about all of the shops identify their guys in one manner or another (Top, bottom,T&B, both). I usually only choose tops, but I've found that even some are actually more flexible but choose to only publicly identify as top for personal reasons.
When I have chosen a T&B because I found him particularly attractive, most seem to clearly prefer the top role. But it's abundantly clear that minority are dedicated bottoms who relish that aspect.
Every top I've found is a bit different and those differences are what keep me coming back to Saphan Kwai.

Day 13
After breakfast together, treat for me itself this trip as it was only second such opportunity out of 12 nights in Bangkok, S and me took taxi to his room. He asked me if I want to see and I did as I never was in boys room in Thailand and was curious. It was in high-rise 50 baht taxi fare away from Patpong . Not that he has much of use of building heights as his room is on 2nd floor.
Nothing spectacular but quite spacious with bed , couch and desk, also fridge and AC and full toilet with shower. On balcony there was mini kitchen with stove of one burner only. Considering Bangkok heats , quite sensible arrangement . So I ‘d say quite comfortable. Could use some girl’s hand to tidy it a bit, housekeeping is rarely boy’s strong feature but certainly comfortable and habitable.
I returned to Raya by foot and packed as today I’m moving to new place , never tried. Silom Convent Garden , in soi Phipat , right beside Sauna Mania. Quite good location, equidistant between two 7/11 on each end of soi and few minutes walk to Silom’s joys, even closer to Chong Nonsi BTS.
For 35$ I did not expect miracles and upon entry I was amazed by how good deal it is. Whole apartment complete with washer, separate AC in living room and bedroom, very clean and well maintained, lots of storage space and kitchen utensils as well as microwave , all in. In short , quite a gem . I already posted pictures in some other thread.
Other member visited me shortly after move and also approved quality, We decided to go to soi 6 for massage as he had somebody in mind and I wanted Mak , former masseur at Tawan , whom I spotted another day working at 9-teen.
Unfortunately he had day off today so  I grabbed another guy sitting at front. Nothing spectacular but massage  above average for soi 6 and extras also more than sufficient for 1500 tip for 1.5 hr. session, 800 for the house.
As it happened my friend’s massage was finished at the same time so we met  in the soi and I decided to revisit him in his new digs in Marvin suites in Sathorn soi 13. Another good deal and very comfortable place although bit distance from the scene but certainly worth consideration.
Today is birthday of my diminutive bodybuilder masseur  from Maha massage, he cheerfully suggested I treat him with dinner on his birthday day and conformed on Line he will be free at 18.30 so I went there to pick him up.
 As for venue, he said up to you to his peril so I suggested choice between Foodland Patpong and G’Bangkok in soi 4 . He opted for the later and off we went. I brought him set of chocolates from Cambodia and he said  he managed to salvage only 3 pieces as his shop friends enjoyed the rest.
As I mentioned above when we dined two Jupiter boys were passing by and greeted me with smile , clearly recognizing me from visit in bar day before.
After festive dinner my guy went back to his shop and I returned to hotel to spruce up  for rest of evening.
At 21.15 meeting with forum friend in Foodland, news exchange and today  we really had two choices at my insistence, GoodBoys as I did not visit it this trip and Moonlight which I wanted to visit once more. We opted for GoodBoys.
Mamasan recognized me instantly , mentioned One, my possibly best boy ever coming from there – old story from 2014 but she somehow remembers him and me liking him a lot. A lot !
There were good reports about numbers 7 and 42 so I kept eye to see them , 7 was not present but 42 was on the stage , not too long though as soon he was called over by the group of customers. There were few quite attractive guys on the stage and few of them found me attractive as well trying to bring attention to themselves but my eye was on # 26, typical twunk , not to big but with impressive six pack.
We met before and it was historical event in Dec 2021. He was then working in Jupiter  and shocked me almost to heart attack or something as it was first and only boy there smiling at me broadly, not shyly, broadly. Of course I offed him then and after bit of deliberation  decided to repeat feast tonight so called him over to be closer to that smile. Long time ok for four grand. He suggested 5 initially but I countered with 4 and   wisely he agreed. Wisely because I was not prepared to pay even  100 more.
Passing by Patpong Night Market we got some banana pancakes and went to the room. No issue with visitors there , neither day or night, believe me , I checked both variants, wait for tomorrow’s part.
Very pleasant and sweaty night, I sensed he was kind of grateful he was offed and turned out to be very active, Finally , just before I head home things are looking up. Perhaps we were too energetic  as at 5.30 am he asked to release quoting convincing reason. He wants go home to sleep, he, he
Since he worked hard to deserve break from me I let him go without any fuss.
 

Also it would be good to know which of Prince/Senso have showers in the massage rooms rather than down the corridor. I don't like being separated from my clothes/wallet while showering, nor taking them/it into the shower!

The massage parlour scene which I have been investigating 😅.. and maybe the sauna.  
 
I will still check out some of the gogo scene, but will probably not stay too late (say 11?). Is that too early to off anyone…

@vinapu, thanks for sharing and I like the fact through your travels and multiple encounter with multiple boys and which some you reportedly were great, you continue to maintain that boundary (like you said, if you seek love - rent it). 
Especially that you are also looking for that experience through LT but nonetheless still recognize that boundary. 
 
 
 

Day 10
In the morning I sent Line to my Dreamboys Pattaya guy that I’m back in Bangkok and I’m ready to host him here as we discussed week ago. Message was read but not responded to till I reported on last day that I’m about to go home. Clearly he was not interested which is too bad as I liked him and also would be happy to be his Bangkok Guide since he claimed to never been in capital other than MorChit bus station.
Since I had breakfast included in room rate and my boy left long time ago I invited bkkmfj to accompany me and salvage that unused half. Nice talk as always.
In the room surprise Line message from V ,  freelancer guy I hosted few times but lost contact with recently. He claimed to be surprised I’m in Bangkok and he sent me his ‘hallo’ thinking I’m still home. Asked him when he can come and answer was immediate  “noon till 2 to 2 today”.
Few hour later I picked him up from downstairs for our reunion. I did not see him more than year but he did not change at all, muscular charming , down to earth and well equipped. All at once. Our gymnastics were bit rushed but at least I understand it as he works 3-11 pm and did not want to be late for work.
Settling bill  -  bit of surprise as he asked 500 more than my usual 2000 but I gladly paid this up even if bit surprised. If V is asking for more, end of world is near was my impression as he was always happy with whatever his tip was.
Almost end of my trip and I still needed to take 2 hr. nap in the afternoon. It was darkening when I went to MBK to buy new suitcase and handle of mine broke. Zillion of people and it looked that almost all shoppers were Middle Easterners.
On my way back message from Y, one of my best guy ever whom I invited tonight for some stamp sorting work. “ Will you pick me up from bar or you want me to come to your room directly ?”
Instructed him to   come to the room promising to give him money for off fee right away. Which I did immediately after he crossed door. Business is business. He told me he wanted to be on good terms with mamas an and dropped by the bar and paid his fee already.
Since we both were hungry I suggested we cross the road to Happy Beer Garden and have meal there. Joy the waitress who calls me ‘ my dad” and claims we are the same ‘ you like boys and I like boys” welcomed us heartily and was treated with usual big bottle of Chang . Always  fun in that place although is not cheap as my bill for two , tip plus Joy’s beer came to 1200 .
Often when we off boys several times complacency shows up   but definitely not a case with Y. Honestly I had impression he was even  more active   and more clingy that before. His  company doesn’t come cheap but he is worth every single baht he asked for.  As usual since he is shackled by his girl he need to leave by 3 and in case he forgot there was call at 2.50 with reminder I guess.
Not that he run away immediately but at 3.20 he left me to my own devices. That I don’t mind because he keeps his integrity, informs me always about his time limit well in advance so no those ‘my bike parked wrong spot’ stories . He is whole gem of he guy and not only his personality heart is big let me tell you. I told him I will see him again on my last day during day . It must be somebody reliable and sexy at the same time when trip is wrapping up, no?
