  1. Republicans are having a similar discussion. Trump won once and brought people to his side that would not have usually come, largely because of his populist positions on trade, immigration and China. But the truth, the quiet thing that Haley and De Santis don't want to say out loud is that in his case, Trump's petulance and arrogance will not bring suburban women back to the R side of the ballot, not in enough numbers to defeat whatever candidate is on the D side. With Biden, the quiet part is the fact that his strength was largely not being Trump. Peel that back and you have an elderly man in early stages of dementia with limited control of his emotions, a lifelong habit of racist and sexist comments and actions, and dwindling energy for one of the most demanding jobs on the planet. Here's what I meant: can Biden realistically win against anyone but Trump? If Trump is the Republican nominee, Democrats can run a box of tampons with a D stamped on them, they'll win. If Trump loses the nomination, not sure a synthetic candidate like Harris or an incompetent like Buttigieg can win. They have to get lucky and hope another unlikeable like Cruz or Pompeio win, otherwise, Democrats will need to be more creative than Biden. My guess is that reinstating Trump on social media is part of a broader effort to rehabilitate him so he'll be the nominee again. Wouldn't be surprised if Democrats start donating to MAGA or if you start seeing Trump on network television again too.
  2. Only option I read was the face towel. That still deserves a small eew. I like human sized towels.
  3. Talk about working from home.
  4. Fill nudity mandatory? Eeeew.
  5. Reviewing the premises stated by the original post, not sure why this is even a question. Or are we not saying the quiet thing out loud?

    RIP Kadu

A friend who worked at the club for a couple years told me Kadu often picked up street trade in Lapa. He said they used to joke about how dangerous it was but apparently the price difference between the club and Lapa was significant. I don't know if that is what happened but it has certainly happened before that street trade goes horribly wrong.
  7. @BlkSupermanany chance DTWQ wouldn't mind you sharing his contact info. I'm headed to Brazil in a month. He's got a great voice and I do like music.
  8. Very practical questions. My experience: 1. If you're going to buy a phone for the trip, but something used that draws less attention. 2. I understand Uber eats left Brazil. iFood is big but will not process international payments, at least never for me. I tend to use rappi but the selection is sometimes limited. 3. I try to use my phone to pay for most things using Google Pay. It's quick, works almost everywhere and I have not had my card cloned this way. For cash money, i like the ATMs inside any big, big bank during the day. There are guards inside and it's safer than street ATMs. There is also a big group of ATMs at GRU as you exit the international terminal. It's relatively safe to get cash there. I don't use money traders myself. 4. Love Airbnb's! I've never had an issue after seven or eight trips to Rio. 5. I've seen the kiosk in Rio and I'm SP, sometimes it's staffed sometimes not. If you can, just get Google Fi, then ask for a data only chip and put that in your throwaway phone. If you must do a chip, do it at the airport and not local cell stores where you often need a CPF/national id number. 6. I suppose this depends on how you're dressed. If you're in a towel you'll have to go back and no one will be surprised or upset. You can also stay in street clothes and carry some cash with you, not recommended though. Have fun!

    RIP Kadu

That is very sad. When I've used motels in São Paulo, I don't think I've gone to one in Rio, they always call the room if someone is coming in and I'm already there or if someone leaves and I'm still in the room. I assumed it was standard practice but in the future I will specifically ask that they call the room if anyone is leaving without me.
  10. It was a long time ago, maybe three years ago? He's a nice enough young man, maybe not the right fit for people who really care about size. He's aware of his beauty though and, for some reason, I found him a bit uncommitted to the experience. My experience won't necessarily be like anyone else's, so take this as a reflection of just a few hours' worth of my knowledge of him.
  11. How's it going so far?
