  1. it's a multi-nights event (I think 4-5). Each night there is a different theme and the night before the last, is called the white night as you are expected to wear all white. It kinda gives the name to the whole event, that's why it's also called the main event. The conclusive night is always on NYE with a cool countdown. The scenes from that video are a mix from all the nights. I went to only one night and saw some of them, but other scenes definitely happened some other night. So, it's not strictly the countdown.
  2. I don't know. Maybe they feel people would be tired on the last day but the main event (actually called white party) is always the night before NYE.
  3. Same as last year. Just the main one.
  4. I only went to the main party (the one you have to wear white) which is usually the day before NYE. My friends that went on that night said the the only good moment was the countdown and after that it got quite boring and most people start leaving including them.
  5. Was there last year. Not sure about your age and body type but I saw quite a few guys that were definitely in their 60s. I think if you are into it, go ahead and try it. The tickets might be already sol out though I know they have a lst sales phase at the beginning of December. That's how I bought last year. This year I got mine right away.
  6. As I have said in some other posts under this category HK has actually a good number of gay saunas but the biggest and the most gay-friendly of them remains Hutong. They don't do any filtering anymore at the entrance like around 5-10 years ago, so everyone is accepted. I've seen white daddies every time I go, though not sure about their success rate. (I'm in my mid 30s and slim). The facilities are still great. The best days to go are Monday (young people get a big discount), Friday and Saturday. Pretty empty on Sundays, though my HK friend said that it start offering a discount now to attract more people on that day. Peak hours are 6-9PM as most customers are actually Shenzhen guys who have to catch the subway to head back home as getting a room in HK is quite pricey for them. It also get very busy during the two weeks in May and October where the mainland has holidays. I witnessed it myself this year. Went there on May 1st and by 4:30pm all the lockers were taken and guys coming in had to put their stuff in a plastic bag. There were around 200-250 guys at any given moment in there. I had a real blast. Started getting serviced by this cute twink from Shenzhen even while I was still taking a shower. Went to the cabin with him and after being done as I go out of the cabin, this other twink grabs my hand, takes me back in there , closes the door and starts going down, so I have to restart right away. After staying around 3.5 hours and having played with at least 8 guys went back to my hotel happy but totally exhausted. Lots of guys also like to play with their cabin doors opened, so you get to see a show even if you get no action. Judging by when you posted your question, you certainly already been to HK. Let us know if you got the chance to go to any place.
  7. It's definitely one of the top three events in Asia that attracts the most gays, the other being Songran and NYE/white party in Bangkok. It was my 6th time and I enjoyed like it was the first. Posting some pics from the event below. As always all the gay venues were full and you had guys visiting from all over. I enjoyed Soi13 and also got the chance to get invited at a hot homepa this year. Having spent the last 5 weeks between Taipei and Bangkok I would say that the amount of hot guys you see in the street is probably higher in Taipei than in BKK. Feel like I will end up with permanent neck injuries if I spent more time in here by all the head twisting I'm doing while walking.
  8. Not sure if it has been mentioned in here, but among the events of BKK saunas I would also include the naked rooftop party which ends up being one big orgy at Chakran on Friday nights. I think it starts at 8PM. The crowd tends to be smaller than in some other saunas (I would say around 40-50 guys) but the quality is really high. Mostly twinks and in-shape cute young guys. Personally it's a bit difficult to choose on Saturdays between R3 or Krubb. R3 has more performers though you usually have the same ones the next day at Mania. Krubb has actually a more mixed crowd while R3 especially on O-party nights tend to be 80-85 percent Chinese. If you are in shape or if you're a top and quite endowed down there you will have fun at whatever sauna you choose. Haven't tried any onsen yet in Bkk though quite a few Thai friends have recommended them to me. Considering Thai weather though, I would go there mostly during December-February.
  9. https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/other/fda-gives-green-light-to-first-at-home-syphilis-test-as-cases-rise/ar-AA1oYVkG?ocid=BingNewsSerp Wonder if it will be part of out travel checklist soon as unfortunately syphilis is quite prevalent in Thailand.
  10. They ranked last at 4x100m relay final but I couldn't get my eyes off Chen Jiapeng (on the right in the pic). Such an adorable twink.
  11. Well considering that most of the high-ending or popular restaurants in Japan don't use an online booking service but you have to go through some agencies like: tableall, etc which charge between 1000-8000 Yen, foreigners are already paying more than locals even if restaurants charge the same.
  12. I would just say that gay saunas in SK are no that good, even though Korea is known for its sauna culture (a bit similar in this to Scandinavian countries) The sauans tend to be quite small and the best ones have usually a Korean-only policy (though they do make exceptions). On the bright side, there is a lot of group happening in there. Usually guys on Grindr are the ones looking for foreigners. How much lucky you will be depends a lot on your body type. Koreans are bit obsessed with height. So tall guy (meaning 190cm and up) have definitely very high chance of success. Fit or muscular guys also get extra points. Being overweight is really looked down. Personally, having visited SK a few times in the last 15 years from when I was in college to now being in my mid-30s, being just 175cm though very slim and with a bit of a baby face, I'm always surprised of the amount of activity I get there. Worth of note is how good of a place ICN airport is as a hookup spot. As the main hall is on the upper floor and you access the gates by going one floor down and 2-3 gates will have their own bathroom, usually after 8PM lots of them are empty so is a good place for some action. I got lucky the last two times I transited through there, so even if you aren't going into the city, keep your apps open if you're in the airport.
  13. So grab isn't popular in PP or is that tuk-tuk are much cheaper?
  14. Sauna NZ is actually pretty good. Been there twice on Thursdays (is younger's night). Great facilities and love the bar where you can get a drink after done playing with a guy. Club church is also a vey popular cruise place. I found it a bit cramped though and the crowd just so-so.
  15. since we mentioned Myanmar in this topic, one of the guys that spent the night with in Yangon told me later than as he exiting the hotel, someone from the reception called him and said: "Hey, you look good. Can you leave your contact number? We have customers that like young guys. We can give you a call". They were pretty much trying to pimp him out.😁
  16. Frankly this list is just as ridiculous as the others. It puts New Caledonia above Thailand. Nothing against NC (I've actually have visited it). Great for diving with its amazing barrier reef, but way fewer options if you want to explore something smoother than coralsđŸ€Ș. Also, Angola ranking higher than Japan and Barbados ranking higher than Hong Kong. Maybe it's a list for gay people pursuing a vow of chastity.
  17. https://e.vnexpress.net/news/travel/southeast-asia-s-second-largest-economy-receives-19-7-million-foreign-tourists-4773479.html do you think they will the 40 million tourist target?
  18. I think this is mostly because of the internal conflict going on in Myanmar. It doesn't much reflect the petty or street crime in there. I've only went to Myanmar once, 7 years ago so during their brief "democracy" period, but I remember that it felt really safe, especially considering the level of poverty in there. Remember even Lonely Planet mentioning something along that line. They explained by saying that during the long military junta the punishments were really harsh, even for the pettiest of crime. Well, Manila has definitely more crime than BKK, Phnom Phen, Hanoi or even Jakarta. Remember going there the first time around 15 years ago and making the mistake of staying in Malate/Ermite, having read that it was the gay area. It definitely felty more chaotic, dirty and more dangerous than BKK and PP. Obviously, the jury was lacking any rice queen.
  19. Yeah, I remember it was kinda difficult crossing main roads in PP. How does Grab work in there btw? Did you have the same issues you encountered in Manila? Or is Passap, that @vinapu is mentioning, a better choice? Can you pay by card with Passap? Is Grindr the most active app in Cambodia? In Vietnam for example, HeeSay(ex Blued) has way more profiles than Grindr or Hornet. I'm a slim top guy in my mid-30s, usually look younger than my age. Have had my fair share of Khmer guys in BKK, the US and a couple even in Europe. I'm quite the fan as they have twinkish looks, great bubble butts and tend to be really smooth. Do you think I'll get the same reception on the apps in there as in Manila or HCMC (as you himself said getting contacted by 30-40 profiles per day). I should also say that I'm also mostly looking for free sex. I rarely go to any club, bar, gogo bar, etc. Usually the only gay venues I care about are cruising bars and saunas. Now regarding the latter I have read mixed reviews in here. A Thai friend of mine though recommended I go to Paul and Arthur. He said he had lots of fun. I also will be there only from Sunday till Friday, as I want to spend the weekend in Singapore (quite the fan of the Keybox sauna in there). So not sure, if it will be the best time to go to a sauna in there. Sorry for this barrage of questions and I hope people in here don't feel I'm derailing this topic.
  20. Thanks for this piece of information @roughjock Honestly, was the biggest issue during my trip to the Phils, mostly because it was unexpected. It started at the airport where I tried for around 45 minutes and at the end had to queue up for a regular taxi. Pretty frustrating, especially when it happed night time.. Never had this kind of problem in other countries where Grab is available. I would say Vietnam is probably the best. Never had to wait more than 2 minutes for the car to show up. I was actually thinking of going to Cebu this December, as I have never been in that city. It's choice between Cebu and Phnom Penh, as the last time I was in Cambodia was around 15 years, while I was still in college, so it was before the advent of apps. I was already leaning more towards PP but your info kinda sealed the deal.
  21. I agree, that's why i mentioned seasoned traveler compared to more sporadic ones. I still think that in light of Thailand extending the visa free period and the number of countries it offers it too and even Indonesia removing the need for a visa on arrival for many countries, the visa policy of Cambodia and Vietnam is pretty shortsighted. I believe Cambodia still maintains the requirement for a visa because it doesn't want to give up the income that it generates. It can probably be solved by implementing an arrival/departure tax. Vietnam's policy is a bit more peculiar as they allow a good number of European countries to travel without visa but not citizens of the US, Canada, Australia, France which represent quite a big market. I assume is because these countries have large Vietnamese diasporas, including opponents of the ruling party, so the visa is there just to filter out any "agitator".
  22. Turned out that taking a Grab, at least for me when I was in Manila around 2 years ago, was much more difficult that I was expecting. Lots of times I had to wait 4-5 minutes just to have a car assigned to me and then wait sometimes even 10 minutes for the car to arrive. Around 4-5 times I even got a "All drivers are busy. Retry later" message. Not sure if the situation is better now but at that made my trip quite I think it's mostly like that in Manila. none of my guests had to go through check-in at the hotel I was staying in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. It's still more flexible that in some other countries like Vietnam where the check-in at hotels is strictly enforced. In both countries if you want more privacy (maybe because you are bringing 2+ more at the same time) an Airbnb is the best choice. I think the Philippines is more suitable for a top tourist. My main issue with Pinoy guys though is that a good number of them are not as smooth as other Asians. It's true also that they tend to be super clingy. Way more than other guys in SEA.
  23. Thanks. Looks like Yahoo removed the link. Does anyone know how to embed text from a link in a post? Used to be that when you would paste a link, it would give you the option to automatically paste its content but looks like this new version of WordPress doesn't do that anymore.
  24. I would say that' carbon monoxide poising is the most probable cause. Reminds me of https://www.cnn.com/2022/06/28/americas/sandals-bahamas-resort-deaths-carbon-monoxide-police/index.html. I always thought though that water heating in Thailand is mostly electric, usually through the use of tankless heaters. If that is found to be the case, hopefully it pushes hotels to install CO detectors.
