  1. I think you hit the nail on the head right there mate.
  2. Both bars in question (BC Bar / Palace have farang owners. Both present in the bars. They are fully aware of what is happening, and just let it carry on.
  3. It's a shame that a few idiots ruin the fun for everyone. The front rooms at The Venue would be impossible some nights. When I stayed there in the past I always asked for a back room. I always liked their rooms.
  4. I'm not sure I explained it well enough. Whatever those terrible sounds were last night that forced most of us out of the street, it most certainly wasn't entertainment. People had headaches. My ears were hurting from the high pitch screeching. I don't think many people here would object to some quality, good, entertainment. Whatever that was last night could be used as a torture technique.
  5. When the market supports it, I will also. Give it another couple of weeks, it may be possible. It's getting REALLY busy around here! The timing I am pointing out was just groundless silliness. We can't expect more from un-educated farm boys I guess. Having said that I personally think it more likely came from the soi dog mamasan at Divarium. That creature has been scamming farang for decades! My main concern is tourists not experiencing Jomtien Complex at it's best, and thus not returning. The old crowd are dropping off. New blood is needed.
  6. Yup they did.
  7. While I speak to many bar owners in Jomtien Complex each week, I'm not one of them. I am just a regular in a couple of the bars. I do however think it's fair for me to comment on why Jomtien Complex is failing to reach it's potential as a bigger destination, as Boyz Town and Sunee once were. When a bar in Jomtien Complex has a party, other bar owners go along, buy drinks, and "support" each other. It's all fake. It's a peacekeeping act that doesn't work and frankly shocks me. I have watched this shit for years. Last night, 14/12/22, BC Bar had their turn for party. It wasn't important really. Just a staff member who was celebrating a birthday. As with many staff members birthdays, this has to destroy the whole Complex for the entire night. Any new tourist will likely never return. Some bars take a moment to think about the surrounding businesses. Not Bill, and not BC Bar. The same can be said about Sun Bar (Sun), Dragon (Laron), ect ect. The "stage" with the screamers on was outside of the bar facing down the main street, just too piss every singly person off who didn't want to hear it. The only safe heaven was Double Shot. Behind the stage. Not sure who wants to listen to drunk pensioners screaming "country road" at 8:30pm while they are trying to bar fine a boy from a bar 30 meters away? (My friends complaint to me). From 8pm, the volume was sickening. I had a LINE message from a staff member at 4T bar complaining about his headache. I had one too, and I was sitting inside at cocka2 bar. For boys who can't escape the sickening volume of shrieking pigs on a microphone, because they are required to stay at work, I feel they should be compensated. Until a time these bar owners start behaving like adults, and understand that their tourist money "bread and butter" have no interest in some Thai boys birthday, but want to spend money on drinks, bar fine boys and enjoy their holiday in Jomtien Complex. They are destined to fail. There is my rant. Grow up guys. Bill might have been the issue last night, but the rest of them know who they are.
  8. There was a "fad" 2 weeks ago that I am told was started by Winnie at Divarium Bar in Jomtien Complex, when boys wanted 1500 ST, after paying bar fines and boy drinks. (2000B+) The boys all spoke to each other, and it was every bar within a few days. Even the soi dogs wanted 1500. It died pretty quick. Most boys are back at 1000 now. 1500 overnight.
  9. While the start of high season has bought a large number of new faces (tourists) wondering around Jomtien Complex, a majority of people sitting in the complex are expats, at least from my observations of the last week or so. I would estimate 60/40. Speaking for myself and the majority of my friends, when we are in the complex we sit as a group of expats. Occasionally there will be a boyfriend with one or two of us, but not always. What is normally the case is in a bar nearby, our boys are having their own fun with their friends. When I see a guy sitting alone in a bar, it's very rarely someone I recognise as an expat. I normally assume it's a tourist looking for a boy to go sit with. Few expats go to Jomtien Complex to pay bar fines and take boys. That's generally a tourist activity. Speaking personally, I'm an afternoon person. The evening is for dinner and drinks. I would say that it's quite easy to get into a conversation with other expats even as a tourist, you just need to pick the right bar, and know your tribe. If you are British, go to @home bar and chat to someone at Zacks table. If you are Australian, go meet Rob at Cocka2 Bar. He will talk your ear off and be happy to meet you, and introduce you to everyone else there. German? Go to Dolce Vita. Swiss, BuBu Bar, Flemish/Dutch, Doubleshot, ect ect. Most expats prefer to talk in their native language, understandably. As for "making friends"... That will take time. Most expats have quite close-nit groups of friends and not always open to "new people". It's sad to say but there are some very dodgy people around Pattaya. I guess anything worth doing takes time.
  10. Why on earth would I live in Russia? It's cold. And I don't really like Russians. I live in Thailand. And I will say whatever I please. I can speak more freely here than my birth country, the UK. Say the wrong thing there and the woke police are at your door. Another failed state. How about you mind your own business instead of telling people where to go and live? I would say I will talk to you in Thailand, but on second though I can already tell you are the type of person I stay far away from. Vile.
  11. He is certainly referring to his favourite food. กล้วย .. Banana
  12. Friday 2nd December, I had a Mike Pattaya Taxi from Bangkok City (Suan Plu Soi 8 ) I booked it the night before and it was confirmed via LINE in 5 minutes. I had a fantastic lady driver with a brand new big car. I was very comfortable with a big recliner seat and free water. She skipped the rest stop on the way because I was asleep. It was that comfortable! 1100 Baht + 200 tip. Right to the lobby of my condo. I have used Mike Taxi for many years now. FloridaRob was my introduction to them. I will never go anywhere else.
  13. Yeah that place was a joke. The swab didn't even touch the inside of my nose. Amazing to speak to a person here who went to the same place!
  14. Switch it up a little. Go to Moo-Katar instead. The best one is at Rompo in Jomtien. Rompo Buffet.
  15. I went to the same place. Just off Taksim square. It was a joke, but cheap. Just past the Hyatt on the second floor? lol
  16. Still in my first year learning Thai. Keep in mind a lot of these boys have not had the best education. I would take it as "sugar baby" if you wanted a western translation. Younger bottom/not a man (gay)
  17. I called him a sheep (an animal). You called me a dwarf (a offensive term for a person of short stature) I think you broke your own woke code here.
  18. Right. George Bush is responsible for the deaths of more than 1,000,000 innocent Iraqis when he lied to the world about WMDs and bombed civilians. Putin is far from being a vile as that man, and the United States.
  19. Nonsense? I assume you watch CNN / Mainstream media lies and believe everything you are told. Good little sheep. I have seen just as many reported war crimes on the Ukrainian side, especially from Ukraine's Nazi Azov Battalion. They just don't put that in the mainstream press. Doesn't suit the narrative. Enjoy watching the continued puppet show with the Zalenski dancing clown. As a note, sure a war was not declared. NATO clowns just named it one. Putin used the term "Special Military Operation". I believe that is still the case.
  20. It's disgusting that criminal Western governments and vile NATO are removing the rights of young Russian families to travel. They didn't start an armed conflict. I'm very happy that Thailand is staying neutral. If things escalate, id rather be in a neutral country.
  21. When I first moved to Thailand and was living in Bangkok, I felt obliged to meet up with forum members. Most of them were ok, although not my people. I met a couple of real weirdos. This one dude with his pen and notepad, writing about boys clothing. Well, they write horror movies about freaks like that. There were men who I was scared to even be seen talking to. I learned my lesson there. My best meet was FloridaRob. We honestly hate each other, but we have different taste in boys, can chat about a load of rubbish, and nothing is ever taken too serious. If you have never met anyone from here before, just meet FloridaRob. He's so laid back, he's usually laying on it.
  22. Yeah, 3 years ago Grab was great. It's amazing how quick things can change. I remember UBER in BKK being the best one.
  23. This whole thread is essentially, "How do differentiate expats from tourists". Group of 8 farang around a table? expats Guy sat alone looking at boys? Tourist. Sure, there are always exceptions. Just most expats go to bars to chat to friends. We don't need bar fines to get our boys.
  24. Did you hear about BOLT? I'm told their rates are much better than GRAB in Bangkok. Here in Pattaya, BOLT has destroyed GRAB. Everyone uses BOLT. I would be interested to know the BOLT situation in Bangkok now. I will be heading up there next week myself.
  25. I used these 2 resources to travel in 2020-2021-2022 https://www.kayak.co.uk/travel-restrictions? https://www.skyscanner.net/travel-restrictions I managed to travel 3 continents on a permanent bases without any unnecessary injections thought-out the covid bullshit. They are still regularly updated and should provide you with the information you need in regard to flights, transits and arrival information for most countries in the world.
