Very interesting! I met a guy (straight) in Pattaya last month ,66yo and newly retired to Pattaya last month . He looked at what life he had left in weeks, seemed to be "obsessive" about living each day as you can,of course it's great if you have the fitness and energy! Said he was aiming for 1040 week goal . Life goes fast,it really does , and I often wonder when I see work colleagues who are in their 70's why they are still working full time and wasting time?π I bumped into a work colleague a few months ago who was 77 and still working, his wife was from Vietnam and the thing that struck me was he said to me with a smile ,"I will be retiring in a few years and going to live in Vietnam,we have a nice bungalow in a island over there" I looked at him stunned, how long does he think he has got in life, I honestly felt like saying to him why not go now,how long do you think you have left at 77? ?π³

I'm always one who believes in "moving on" and accepting change I'm 62 so I like to embrace change I always say that to my same age work colleagues especially when they are critical of newer much younger work colleagues who may seem things differently, I like to be the one to accept change I never want to be one that "well when I was a boy..... But strangely when I was in Pattaya last month, I sat in Boyztown, and reminiscenced about what was ,what used to be I sat there at a table with a few beers at the and the bar next to it and I actually spoke to the mamasan? manager ( I don't think they are called mamasans nowadays?) there who sadly, sadly had absolutely no idea of the Dolly sisters or never ( I won't mention names) of the previous farang owners , he even called over other boys who also had no idea . Look I know times move on ,they aren't expected to know ,it's in the past ,it was me of course wanting it to be like old times thinking of the funny farang owners that used to run it ,the infamous Dolly sisters etc It's got me thinking that times are soon forgotten, younger people move in, they have no idea what the times nor the people that it used to have . I sat there drinking by myself with the Thai manager of the bar sitting next to me as I'm mumbling " street talk used to be over there " him nodding at me looking at me weirdly" they used to sell wonderful pastrami sandwichesπ³π³ Another 2 boys sitting nearby both live on their tiktok said in great English " how long ago was that ? " Oh about 20 years ago " I said Then they both laughed , 20 year ago I five said one all laughing. They must of thought I was a reminiscent old manπ΄π΄ Of course times have moved on,even at the bar we were sitting at had memories but the guys had no idea who the previous owners nor the good times that went on there ,I looked back into the bar from my outside table , the memories of the Dolly sisters etc , of course the guys had no idea about all that , as they dance live on their tiktok and Facebook to their friends , The manager looked at me looking back into the bar " you want another drink ? He asked " No no , I said ,just thinking about the past , all the Dolly's , obviously looking at me like I was a old nutter and the silly thing is I was rambling on like a old drunk after 5 beers and I remember telling them about the mamasan at Cityboys go go bringing his cat to work. The Thai manager guy sitting next to me good English "and the cat was Dolly? " No no Dolly sisters were here I said pointing in the bar All 3 guys looking at me weirdly " the cat and sisters he brought here?then they all laughing thinking drink as a skunk π₯³π₯³ π And strangely or ironically I just read the obituary in the Pattaya mail of the latest Dolly sister to depart which brought back more memories. It's sad in a way ,but things can't stay the same ,but even sadder that people & times are forgotten. Here I am sitting in a bar that 15 years ago was pumping and the owners famous , fast forward and the guys in Boyztown have no idea what I was on about .π³ Probably thought I was some nutter talking about his dolly cat and streettalk π I was very fond of the Dolly sisters though , I used to love the Boyztown area back then. I used to remember all the famous/ infamous bar owners , all the good ones & bad ones π Nowadays there's none of that ,no one to even mention really ,no bar owners stand out anymore ,no infamous or famous ones! But how fast has life gone by with all these passing, it makes you appreciate your every day more, I often think I'm 62 I have probably 15 to 20 years left, I have to enjoy it Oh well, forgive me I'm getting old ,past is over I know I know what you all thinking and want to say to me π "Oh shut up you rambling old fool π€£π€£

Top 10 best and worst places to live in the world
Olddaddy replied to reader's topic in The Beer Bar
Sydney should be on the list,I'm surprised it's not.π³ Never been to Frankfurt in Germany, any thoughts on that City? I see Dubai is not in the list either ,I did think it was a great city -
Just signed up for Phillipines Airlines Mahubay club and surprised when I claimed my missing miles online I had accumulated 22,000 points, enough for a free economy airfare . I remember years ago joint Krisflyer on Singapore Airlines accumulated a lot of points but couldn't get the annual leave at that time and they expired one week before I could get my leaveπ At least with mahubay they last 2 years . Qantas is another one frequent flyer club although I believe it's 80,000 points for a free flight

Yes both Olivia Newton John & Judith Durham from The Seekers died this week. Both from Cancer π Terrible disease ,both my parents couldn't beat it either,I remember my Dad saying just like Olivia that he was going to beat it , I knew he never would, most times it comes back with a vegeance ,terrible terrible thing to fight π I Ioved them both singers although The Seekers were more 1960's , with my favourite song "Georgie Girl" & my favourite Olivia song was "Let's get physical π

I must say though in reply to "Mavica" that not everyone wants to be known as gay even though they are in a gay area . I remember being in the jomtien complex in late June watching the Gay Prideπ³οΈβπ march and decided on taking a few pictures, up jumped a older farang that demanded I stopped taking them I told him to move away from the camera and area of the parade if he didn't want to be in the pics ! " I'm visiting here ,he said standing over me, " I'm visiting here I don't wish anyone to know I'm here !π³ Well then move away I said, I'm expected by him to STOP taking pics of something I enjoy ( gay pride march in jomtien complex) because he doesn't want anyone to know he is gay that could see him in the pics !ππI wished I had asked him if he was doing something he shouldn't be ,he has to keep a secret life so none of us can take pics of events because he wants to sit in the middle, scared of a camera !;; I mean if your that secret or ashamed of being gay don't go to the Pattaya gay bars, they have recording cctv in that area anyway so it's not like your there in secret.secret. and us who are not ashamed of being gay should suffer because we have to keep your life secret,so no photos π

"Prep is not at all a good treatment option for anybody HIV-infected whether they are aware of having HIV or not." I was quite surprised when the Doctor mentioned anyone HIV positive & taking HIV medication cannot spread HIV ,I had no idea of that .
-
A lot true what you say , I live in a "gay area" so constantly see two guys holding hands in my area in the street,of course they would know better not to do that in the outer suburbs where there is a big Muslim population or in "working class" type areas . But yeah I agree with you ,lead the life that makes you happy not to please others .π
-
Sounds good until you have sit in a small cramped seat for 12 hoursπ

Qantas airways have always been more expensive from Sydney to BKK than the Asian airlines,I just flew Business class with Philippines airlines $2899 compared to Qantas $5409
-
Yes same as Thai airways Flight attendants and Singapore they were nice .β€οΈ Worst ones for me were Malaysian Airlines and British Airways , some older nasty women, π but I do understand it must be a very difficult job dealing with some people having to "act" nice especially to rude passengers ,I could never do it π I probably end up getting fired the first day!π

"On demand" PREP? I will ask the doctor about this when I see him on Thursday again ,it may be a better option. So you just take it like 24 hours before sex?
-
No I don't believe your being sensitive at all But I believe there has to be "evidence" to think that way ,many a time my Filipino boyfriend has corrected my negative thoughts.
-
But they actually didnt make any comments to you both did they? Is it possible we can imagine what others are thinking? I'm not saying this happened in your case, just sometimes I can be like that where I imagine or think thoughts which have no evidence
-
Do they serve alcohol on Qatar?
-
Is anyone here on PREP? How are you finding it? Any side effects?

Today I went to a sexual health clinic, which was Government run here in Australia so no fee involved. I had originally planned on seeing just a private GP at a medical centre but a poster mentioned on here about sexual health clinics in Australia so thought I would ring my local one this morning. They quizzed me so much first on the phone as they said they had a certain maximum qouta and some patients they refer to their GP . On hearing my answers how I had been in Asia the last 2 Months etc I was top of the list for a appointment. On arrival I was given a rapid antigen test , negative and sit in the waiting room , unfortunately there was 2 screeching Thai ladyboys in there as well one wearing a school dress mini skirt,I imagine they were ,"working boys " to put it nicely. Anyway 5 minute wait and the doctor calls me in , I told him of my throat being sore after sucking around 50 cocks in Asia the last few months He was fantastic and I whilst I was embarrassed I imagine he sees patients like me all day. He said I will test you for everything, With my throat he done a swab test where they use a swab and run it around the mouth ,I think and I can't remember but I think it was for chlamydia? Does that test for HPV too? The next one I had to go into the toilet and ram a swab up my bum 3cm and put it into a tube , problem is , π I got a little excited and...it went further than the 3cm...and...omg..broke off π€¨so had the get the doctor,(so embarrassed) to take the swab out ! I'm not sure what the anal swab test is for ,he did mention it but I was embarrassed so wasn't listening. Next was a blood test I guess for HIV ,and then a feel test looking at the testes and the areas on the side under your balls , All in about 20 minutes and results in a few days He kept encouraging me to go on PREP , bottom guys are higher risk he said But one thing he mentioned to me is...which I was surprised to know...is if someone is on medication for HIV they cannot ...cannot pass the virus onto you !!! I had no idea of that ! Guys I think it's important when we get old to have these medical tests, and I'm not only talking about sexual tests, but prostate tests as well . A lot of us wait until we get symptoms before we go for medicao tests, whether that be because we get lazy or even financial reasons if there's a cost involved. I think the next one will be a prostate test ππwith the glove finger, but seriously I think a yearly PSA& Full blood count test yearly is the least you should do . Of course colonoscopy every 5 years or so if you have a history of bowel cancer, other than that well life's a risk I guess

Places like Bangkok or even the whole of Thailand doesnt concern me in that regard, even though I could count a few times there's been a few remarks made in Pattaya when I have been out & about with a boy or two As for the Philippines I travelled extensively with my Filipino BF and actually forgot about being "gay",nobody asked (except his family and unfortunately he had to lie and say I was his employer)π£ But unfortunately the Western Countries can have people who are very judgemental especially people our age group and above and even some quite nasty "Karen's" who won't mind their own business.
-
Not sure if your busy in the Philippines, but I too back in July couldn't hire a guide for both Cebu & Manila ,all my emails went unanswered

Just watched a ABC documentary on 81yo Lesbian now Australian Miriam Margoyles traveling Australia. Am I only the only Aussie to just recently hear of her,so funny and crude π€£ I absolutely love herπ Love to be with my partner for 56 years like she has ! What a incredible relationship, nearly 60 years with one partner, especially in those times where being "out" wasn't accepted.
-
Yes I'm a bit embarrassed going to a medical clinic tomorrow about my throat in case the doctor judges , Great idea about the sexual health clinic ,I may go there instead π
-
That's what I don't want to go through. I guess as time goes by however the younger generation will have different thoughts. But.....a gay couple the same age is probably more accepted than some "Daddy and his son " and people judge that

The throat testing,is that a swab? Is that looking for strep throat do you know? The only reason I'm asking is I have just come back from Asia after sucking like 100 young cocks & rimming a lot of butt ,and unfortunately have a sore throat in which I will see a doctor about tomorrow. But I didn't know what test I should suggest to him?
