  1. Also I note that UK residents don't get a increase in their pensions if they are living in Thailand unlike Philippines
  2. Regardless of someone's political affiliation it's still a horrific attack . That could of been any one of us sitting there in his place. Ice is a atrocious drug, I was recently walking in a street in Sydney City Australia to come across a guy punching the walls hands bleeding . Unfortunately I had walked into him as I turned the shop corner. Luckily he walked by me shouting to others on the street calling people dogs etc I'd hate to think if he punched anyone as he walked past , especially elderly people and this was 11am in the morning But this "meth" ..."ice" is a very very dangerous drug turning good people bad. Apparently they have no memory of what they did when they were under the influence I do have empathy for the offender , information was that he was a bodybuilder so I don't believe he was a "bad" person ,still no excuse to attack random innocent people I hope actually he gets the help he needs rather than be punished
  3. I don't think the Belgian man was gay as it said he had a Thai GF
  4. Very very sad innocent man Let's hope this bastard who attacked innocent people including this elderly man is given life imprisonment in Thailand Probably on ice at the time
  5. Yes ๐Ÿ‘ definitely great points ! First I have found some Airbnb check ins complicated ,trying to find letterboxes with keys ,using codes etc Then some in the Manila Philippines charges you extra for use of pool & gym 100- 150 pesos a day etc vs free pool gym in hotel Bedsheets and cleanliness yes good points vs free daily cleaning in a hotel
  6. Yes once the government start privatisation of essential services then it's cutting the standards , water , electricity, public transport, prisons
  7. And the best breakie in my opinion a 29 baht cheese & ham toastie from 711 ๐Ÿ˜‹
  8. I'm glad you loved Sydney ! ๐Ÿ˜
  9. What's the bars like in Jomtien complex for socialising with other farangs? I did think the Scottish owned bar was friendly and very sociable. Cocka2 bar also seems to have a lot of expats Personally I'm more a introvert type but I guess it can get very lonely if you have just moved to Pattaya and have no other farangs to socialise with. I find many of the places in the straight areas much better Canterbury Tales bookshop is great
  10. You can also get many guys who free /not money boys ... especially if your into older guys .
  11. Sounds like he is trying to tell me something ๐Ÿ˜„
  12. He wants to sample before buying ?๐Ÿ˜„

  16. (Sorry guys I just realised this should of been posted in the Health section of the forum) I just on the WhatsApp this morning chatting to a friend of a friend in Phuket who has been in the Phuket hospital on a drip most of the night. And apparently they were " pumping his stomach " ...I have no idea what they means but doesn't sound good He is in his late 60's and whilst I believe in the motto Go hard ,grow old disgracefully etc there is only so far you can take your body at that age It has been told to me that he had drunk so much he had vomited everywhere and had to get an ambulance as he fell down the stairs as well of the bar covered in vomit and stubbed his toe๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฎ A few days of sleepless nights , taking energy drinks to stay awake etc I heard to see the sights One thing we all forget on vacation is time management and health. We all need to cram everything into those short trips of 7 nights etc and forget our sleep and healthy eating ,drinking and partying with alcohol to excess especially if we are not use to alcohol They were staying 7 nights /8 days package they got cheap and that could be a reason too , too short of a trip Apparently he did take out travel insurance but whilst I didn't comment on that to them, I did recall a case last year of a Australian woman in similar circumstances who was refused her claim because she was intoxicated at the time. I will keep up to date on him . But I do think it's fantastic he is "partying",๐Ÿฅณ I also think also you need to be responsible. I'm surprised the bar did not stop his alcohol consumption when they realised he was paralytic. I do try to plan my holiday in getting enough sleep , alcohol consumption, diet ,exercise , vitamins B and multi vitamins Berocca etc I rarely drink except if I go to a bar ,and if I do I try to limit it to a glass ๐Ÿท of wine or two. I like a sweet red wine ,but I draw the line at 2 per evening ...most times ๐Ÿ˜ but ...as thais say ...you think too much ! ๐Ÿ˜
  17. Beautiful quote "Seize the day I did have to google it though ๐Ÿ˜
  18. Love it ๐Ÿ˜ I do the same , you get to see new and exciting places. Even if I get lost I still have my Grab app to get back.
  19. General Santos City or Gensan as it's called is known for its Tuna industry Every year they have the Tuna Festival first week of September I went mostly because I was visiting a ex boyfriend who had been to Australia and his wonderful family. I didn't see any crime or danger whatsoever, probably far safer there than walking in some Western cities during the day I got accosted 4 times yesterday in Sydney city for money with some aggressive beggars abusing me for ignoring them, and during my week in Gensan not one person asked for money ! I stayed at first in a expensive hotel ,forget the name...but it was a generic type place , beautiful lobby , staff calling you Sir etc ....but very "clinical" then being a cheap charlieband wanting to meet "normal" people I decided to move to the Red Doorz about 1000 pesos a night (650 baht where the young Filipino hosts were great and met wonderful travellers from Sweden etc It was clean and had a great security guard who sat out the front,a wonderful cafe where at 9pm they cooked me a delicious Filipino pisig pork meal The chef was a young brown skinned 24yo who asked 'you want me to bring it to your room? Lots and lots of guys on Grindr ๐Ÿ˜and that's what I love about new places I'm getting older now maybe another 15-20 years left of life if I'm lucky ,I would rather see new places and experience more. A guy at my work died last week 52yo fit as a fiddle died in his sleep brain clot or stroke ,such a shock to everyone that he had passed , apparently his partner found him unresponsive He said to me the day before at work that when he retires he will travel the World ๐ŸŒŽ he had never left Australia He never got that chance ,he was so tight I remember him haggling the price of his coffee down in 711 because they only had run out fresh milk in the machine Some may have no interest in the "Tuna City" but the people there were very friendly to me and I enjoyed the experience. I say do as much as you can , experience new places ,new people, new things Many won't leave the "comfort zone" of Thailand because it's "easy" and they know that place It's such a hard change to try another place especially somewhere like the Philippines But who knows how long we have , I won't be here in 30 years put it that way. Grow old disgracefully is my motto ๐Ÿ˜‚
  20. I was there last year . People all very polite ,well dressed looked like a lot of uni students I toured the Tuna factory , parks etc Gensan is the Tuna city I even stayed in the cheap Red Doorz inn ,1000 pesos a night and met wonderful Filipino tourists Grindr is very busy by the way in Gensan but I wasn't comfortable bringing back to room as I got too friendly with the staff ๐Ÿ˜‚ I didn't know it was supposed to be dangerous, its like a country city similar to Udon Thani I had so many cars stop for me at the zebra crossing, I had many young people ask me if I needed directions when I was looking on my phone, nothing like Manila City where the people are in a hurry I stayed a week and would go back tomorrow if I could I even went to Anytime fitness , no one seemed to care The famous boxer Manny Pacquiao lives there ,his sister is the Mayor You may like Youtuber Marshall Butters ,he is a 64yo Aussie guy who goes even further south to the Muslim areas
  21. I love your posts I guess just like me you will eventually how do I put it nicely "give up " ......and be happy with your own company. Most times now as I get older I prefer to be by myself. If your after a real boyfriend who will care for you in my opinion 3 hours away is the Philippines!! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ Yes Bangkok in my opinion is far better for socialising than Pattaya . You get far more younger tourists travelling through ,
  22. Thanks ๐Ÿ‘ Not that I'm a regular customer, but I was concerned our only Sauna was disappearing
  23. Well the reason I didn't get the Covid boosters is because I don't or should I say didn't believe in them.
  24. Yep I can imagine walking into my workplace and telling my work colleagues in excitement "Guess where I'm off to tommrrw! They reply excitingly"Where? " I'm flying to....wait for it.... Anchorage! There would be like 30 seconds silence as they start to think where the F is Anchorage Before one says " is that near Melbourne? ๐Ÿ˜ฒ
  25. I know it's somewhere up the top of the World but no unless I google it But I'm sure if I walked into any bar in Australia and said I'm off to Anchorage today I would get some perplexed looks !,๐Ÿ˜‚
