    Yes.
  3. The above remarks come from a trip report posted to a forum for straight guys traveling for sex. Might mean something, or nothing.
  4. Thank you for the comments, floridarob and Tomtravel. For the past couple of days, I've been doing a deep dive into current information for Havana and Santiago, Cuba generally. Descriptions I'm reading in traveler trip reports and a couple I've viewed on youtube align with what floridarob has recently been told by his contacts there. Maybe I'll go, maybe not. I'll continue to digest comments here, and elsewhere. Thank you.
  5. Exactly.
  6. This would be a first-ever visit to Cuba for me. A mid-August birthday present. Easy flights out of Tampa. The dark side of Santiago ... calls out to me. 😁 But I'm open to visiting Havana, alternatively. What do I know? Nothing, about Cuba. I've been looking for / at independent-entry casas particulares independentes in both destinations. Suggestions? Thanks!
  7. I'm thinking of traveling from Tampa, FL to Santiago de Cuba, or Havana for a long weekend in August. Does any reader have current, recent information about USA residents traveling to Cuba? Thank you.
  8. "Medal of Honour"? Someone suggested a Medal of Honour? By the power vested in me I hereby present ...
  9. Accident, or suicide?
  10. Jenny Craig is being revived online | CNN Business
  11. Sounds familiar, when we watch reactions to Israel's apartheid.
  12. Jenny Craig and her husband hadn't had control of the company since as far back as at least 2006. Nestle took control then, later sold it, and the future owners were unsuccessful. Jenny is 90 now and earned and donated millions of US$.
  13. LOL!! Help is on the way:
  14. You're infatuated with polls. Strangely so. Live a little, learn some more things and form your own opinions without seemingly relying on a small sample of what others say they think.
  15. Yes, admirers of former President Trump may have forgotten his often demonstrated inability to pronounce simple words from the English / American vocabulary. Take the time to look at this clip:
  16. The trip reports are long (no complaint from me); splitting them into parts works best as I read them.
  17. No handsome blue eyed, blond hair Russians / Ukrainians?
  18. I think we've seen the research and interpretations, and know. I don't think so. IF there's a recession more likely than not it'll be a soft one ... and Biden won't be blamed for it. Trump isn't going to get moderate Republicans or many Independents. It'll be a replay of 2020, as long as Biden stays healthy and can campaign effectively. The negative for Democrats is Biden's age, and VP Harris being seen as a weak link .. not someone other than the hard-core will want to see as a successor President if something happens to Biden after a re-election. If Trump is not the nominee, though, Biden's road back into the WH will be challenging.
  19. Yes, I'm back from my trip to Mexico and Mexico City. I explained earlier, I'd wanted to visit Rio de Janeiro instead (for sexual exercise reasons), but for reasons of friendship I detoured to Mexico City instead. There was no sexual escapades on this trip. ☹️ I did spend a lot of time with friends 😁, wandering neighborhoods I've previously known (have lived in the city before). Grindr activity directed my way was almost non-existent. 😲 There were overtures from individuals I wasn't interested in ... so I didn't respond. I didn't initiate any contacts, though the hotel I stayed in in Mexico City allows non-guest visitors. It's a great city to visit, food choices are abundant. Weather was great. Oaxaca? Somewhat enjoyable, but not my 'cup of tea' anymore. Beautiful indigenous guys, though. To look at. Hotel had restrictions on guests. Though, I had no offers, nor did I solicit. Protesting teachers disrupted the Zocalo and blocked roadways ... which isn't unusual there. Overall, though the government is moving more rapidly towards militarization (love those soldiers!), it's one of the great tourism destinations.
  20. I agree. However, read any of the popularly-read travel forums and you will see/witness comments from tourists who aren't really interested in local / national culture, attempting to speak even a few words of the national language. It's taking Uber everywhere, eating in trendy restaurants favored by foreigners, visiting only the one, two or three popular attractions, etc. I just returned from 10-days in Mexico and that's what I witness. Perish the thought visitors would mingle shoulder-to-shoulder with the locals. Too many people want to check-off a destination from their list, and move-on.
  21. The same is more often not true at the Rio saunas with GP ... I have frequented. Not all, but many, most. In Rio, for me, the request for additional $ to ejaculate needs to be clarified during the process ... and I suspect that's true in Barcelona. Yes, what appears to be "straight" when discussing the engagement beforehand is often different behind closed doors ... worldwide. 😁 Barcelona is still on my bucket list.
  22. I'll be in Oaxaca May 19 > 23, Mexico City May 23 > 29.
  23. I'd never before heard of Brian Tyler Cohen - until he was mentioned here. He's a youtube contributor. There are a lot of grandiose youtubers - some good, some not so. Not much in the way of expertise on anything, from what I heard and researched about him. Maybe I'm mistaken. But, like each of us here ... he's entitled to express his opinion. And, he did address himself to the topic of this particular discussion - unlike some of the book-length off topic opinions I'm reading in this thread. Yes, his guest list has been impressive and he seems to tilt to the left, further left than mainstream Democrats. That said, I listened to about 4 minutes before shutting it off. 🫢
