Well, I would have tried that option, but I found a (for this period with inflated flight prices) great round trip ticket which could very well match pre-covid prices. EVA Air €750 direct flight AMS-BKK including hand luggage and 2 checked bags 23 kg each. Even if I have to change my return flight, it will still be cheaper than buying one way tickets. I booked directly with EVA and the at checkout, they showed in big red letters that there was a €100 fuel fee. It seemed like a good idea to get the visa done too. The process for the e-visa is not that straight forward. I can imagine that people who are not as familiar with computers might be struggling with it. I'm very curious how they are going to handle it and in which time-frame.

Well, let me join in. Unlike what people who have never been here might think, these guys (the ones that i have met) are more sincere than those I've met in Thailand. With these prices we have to shop a little smarter now a days. Not so long a go we could buy economy tickets from Europe to BKK for €400 to €500 euros, we can easily double that now. I arrived in Medellín in the 30th of December and did nothing for a week. That is to say, I worked from home and had to deal with some awkward hours. Friday the 6th, I went out for the first night. Has anyone with no more than a tourist visa bought a one way ticket to Thailand recently? In the past you could buy a cheap 15 usd ticket out of the country to show at check in. Airlines refuse you if you don't have an outbound ticket. That's how it used to be but things may have changed.

Somehow I can't put my finger on it and I hope that Medellín will give me a fresh perspective. I can tell you that I loved the food and some activities, but the main attraction was not for me.
