    India

Hi, I stayed there in July last year for several nights in Delhi. It was a guest house and was basically the top floor of a residential building. 4 or 5 guest bedrooms, each with ensuite, a central living / dining area and a outdoor terrace. There was a kitchen but that was used by the cook / caretaker. It was okay overall but possibly more glamorous / fresher looking in their advertising. They provided a cooked breakfast and you could order lunch and/or dinner from the cook if you wanted to. No mini bar fridge in room but you could use the big fridge in the dining area. It was in a residential area. Few blocks from the metro. Large shopping mall area about 10-15 min autorickshaw ride away (depending on traffic jams). I was the only guest at yhe time, but it was off season. It was good as a place to bring back hook ups from apps etc. Although not sure about anyone staying overnight as I just a had few day visitors. They also offered in-house massage, but none of the men they had available at the time did anything for me. I read some posts on gay chat forums in Delhi while I was there that suggested it was a bit expensive (for locals). It seemed ok to me but it was my first time in India. I did notice their tours were bit more pricey than other commercial options, such as for a day trip to the Taj MaMahal. And remember it's a guest house so doesn't necessarily have all the hotel frills. Would I stay there again - Probably not, but mainly because I realised from that trip that I needed a place with access to a pool to cope with the heat and humidity ... Also worth mentioning that the lift only went to the floor below and you had to walk up stairs to the top level. So if you are not good with stairs may be an issue.
  2. Hi, I tried to book recently on their website but the proper booking pages wouldn't load, despite trying a few different browsers. In the end I emailed them and after exchanging a few emails, booking confirmed. And the pick up etc went without a hitch when I arrived last week.

    Bali scene?

Hi, you could also try an app like Scruff - I've got a 2 week trip to Bali booked for June and have already been browsing on Scruff to see who is around locally - and Scruff's location search of Bali seems to work fine for me in Sydnet without a vpn.
  4. Hi Lucky, thanks for asking. Sadly theres still a travel ban in Australia and although I think being surrounded by hot latin men is essential I fear the government wouldnt agree. Plus Sydney is in a lockdown at moment. So even though vaccinated, looks as though 2022 is more likely for earliest travel for me.
  5. Hi, remember reading something last year about repelling flies with a bag of water and did a quick search and found it: https://7news.com.au/lifestyle/mums-unbelievable-bag-hack-to-banish-flies-using-no-chemicals-at-all-c-1605153 Also while looking saw this: https://www.fliesonly.com/how-to-get-rid-of-flies/ No idea if they work but hope it helps.
  6. Hi Riobard, thanks so much for your response and info. Much appreciated
  7. The occasional tourist scam/ploy is unavoidable. I usually browse the web before any trip (been a while now) and see what's reported as current/common in the country. Had 2 trips to Sri Lanka (which I greatly enjoyed), Xmas 2017 and Xmas 2019, and was subject to the 'baby formula' scam in 2017 in Negombo and the 'free tuk tuk ride but you pay for petrol' scam in 2019 in Colombo. Not sure I wouldve fallen for them anyway, but had been alerted to them by my web browsing beforehand.
  8. Hi, Im assuming with the boytoy/gayguide merge competed the 10 posts rule is still the same or is there a different gayguides requirement (never used gayguides before so dont know what it did/does)? And is there a thread/post with a list of the restricted forums? Might encourage more newbies to persevere if they knew what they were missing out on (like the Americas forum). Cheers
  9. Fairly new to this site (not yet managed to get up to 10 posts), but while I enjoyed the pics and videos previously posted along with trip reports etc, it's the trip reports that are interesting from my perspective because the usually provide tips and options for places I would like to visit. For example, if I get to the Dominican Republic, the posts (once Im able to access the south americas forum again) on the DR gave a wealth of useful info for a 1st time traveller looking for a good time :).
  10. Yep, my thanks again also for the detailed info santiaodc and particularly for answering my question about the boats. Much appreciated. Cheers
  11. Hi santiaodc, thanks for the useful info - Id like to visit Egypt and a few other bits of Nth Africa once travel is a back on. Quick question - theres some older material around the net about the boat tours at Luxor being a good option, but you include it under your scam comments. So would you suggest, if looking for a hook up, avoiding the boat tours completely in Luxor but try them in Aswan instead?

Hi, thanks for the great report. The tips about what to look for in the Airbnb reviews was brillant. Cheers
  13. And apologies if there was announcement posted and I missed it.
  14. Thanks. Explains why the Americas and Europe forums disappeared. Just a suggestion but might be welcome information for newer members who haven't got to 10 posts yet (like me) if there is an announcement posted when a previously accessible forum gets added to the 10 post minimum list.
  15. Hey guys I joined recently and, in response to the quoted post, I've not posted before for 2 reasons. First, still reading through the forums on counrties Im interested in and theres a lot of useful info to get thru! Secondly, can't make any travel plans mainly because (in Australia) theres an overseas travel ban (unless you have an approved excuse) at the moment. But hoping to ask forum posters for advice and tips sometime (probably in 2021 at this stage) when I start planning my 1st Central/South American trip!
