  1. Donald Trump somehow imagines that the nation--at least the white portion of the nation--shares his nostalgia for the Confederacy. He is prepared to fight to the bitter end to save statues of Robert E. Lee and others who rebelled against the United States of America and fought a war that cost more than 600,000 lives. He calls this our "great heritage." This is the same man who ridiculed Senator John McCain, who spent five years in a Vietnamese prison cell and was brutally beaten, yet refused the chance to go home early because he would not leave until his fellow Americans were freed. Trump said he was a "loser." But he admires those who fought for states' rights, dissolution of the union, and white supremacy.
  2. although, truth be told, Bozo's sheer lunacy did make reading that politics forum fun. augustus may have tried to outdo him for pure zaniness, but, regretfully his senility made reading his stuff more sad than funny.
  3. not to state the obvious, but.... what a bunch of clowns! (Do you think they all know he is an escort hiring "fag"?) at least he has found an audience which is more receptive to his hate.
  4. Without Bozo, Augustus, BSR, and their kind, well... it's all kind of boring. #BringBackBozo
  5. Thanks for the correction - I get my "dudes" and my "guys" confused from time to time. And "best" is highly subjective, I guess!
  6. not to name names, but MikeBiGuy is the one who copy and pasted one of my posts here onto the wretchedDaddy forum.... here's looking at you, MikeyBoy!
  7. One of my cyber-stalkers from the Daddy's site went so far as to copy and paste one of my postings here to that site - he was called out for it but it still shows the level of bizarreness that penetrates (oops) that other place. When I was banned (for showing my butt) I thought I might miss that place but I do not. The only reason I even visit there is to get a chuckle out of Bnac's self-serving but boring bullshie. Even the crazies seem to be disappearing from over there. R.I.P. I would say (even though I am not in mourning...)
  8. The danger of fascism lies in its ability to coopt legitimate resentments resulting from inequality and refashion them as hostility towards outsiders. Instead of addressing working-class grievances, fascistic regimes offer their followers a different form of reward by redrawing the lines of inclusion and exclusion, mass-producing myth and arms in equal measure. Until moderates and leftists can identify these characteristics and talk, clearly, about their costs, fascistic thinking will be hard to challenge.
  9. Pardon me while I just for a moment descend into a rabbit-hole that is, I believe, worth a short journey into and back. It is correct to state that the policies of fascism (both the policies of the countries of fascist dictatorship, and those policies like Trumpian "emergency measures", etc.,) are “fascist” in character. Today, we have no true mass fascist movement: We lack paramilitary squads roaming the streets, and a communist uprising that supposedly merits destruction by a one-party fascist state. But a number of leaders recently have been drawing on a mix of traditions that, jumbled together, begin to take on fascist-like appearances. These current movements are fascistic rather than truly fascist. Examples of such fascistic leaders abound. President Donald Trump granted the first private audience with a sitting president to Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban, a fascistic leader who prefers to think of Hungary as the historic kingdom guarding the Christian world. His government has whipped up racist resentment of Middle Eastern migrants, European Union bureaucrats and, it’s implied (though never stated by Orban himself), a global Jewish financial conspiracy. Hungary has even rehabilitated controversial national hero Admiral Miklos Horthy, the World War II-era dictator who allied with Nazi Germany and deported a half-million Jews to be gassed. But the forces and traits that gave rise to historical fascism—the desire to keep communists at bay, to avenge defeat in World War I—no longer exist. Today’s fascistic leaders aren’t as aggressive and bellicose with their geopolitical expansions, because they aren’t responding to a single, global grievance. Nobody fears a global communist movement will topple governments one by one. The closest transnational threat, militant Islamism, is wavering after the routing of ISIS. So current authoritarian leaders have a harder time galvanizing their followers and justifying repressive policies. But softer and more sophisticated approach—a fascistic one, not a fascist one—can win a mob of angry followers. As today’s authoritarians have evolved with the times, they’ve found ways to incorporate fascistic thinking without discrediting themselves as outright fascists.
  10. I think you need to spend some time doing some quality research of what "fascism" actually is. All you are doing now is diluting the meaning of the word by rather carelessly slinging it around.
  11. Trump has completely lost interest in Covid-19 No good headlines for him, so he has ignored the pandemic altogether. His attitude—and his stubborn refusal to wear a mask—signals that the danger is past. He has made clear that the stock market means more to him than death rates, so no more attention to the daily death toll. As he resumes his mass rallies, with MAGA fans packed together, he won’t wear a mask, and neither will they. Those of us who live in hard-hit New York will watch with interest as Trump encourages his followers to ignore all precautions while he will be at least 50-100 feet from his adoring, unmasked fans.
  12. I support and participate in well planned large scale boycotts because, as in the case of South Africa, they work.
  13. it's not just a matter of age.... making intentional wise choices is the right and privilege of everyone vote with your feet, vote with your wallet
  14. Lessens the need for those who have been fucked over on the Daddy site to waste ink complaining about it.... This semi-literate Daddy does not need us exposing how moronic he is - he is fully capable of doing it himself. Maybe his lap-puppies can try to rescue him, but given the stupidity of his right wing kapos there, doubt they can do much good, R.I.P.
  15. Is "Escort of the Year" no longer a thing?
  16. There is no 'Antifa' central committee, let alone any tight organization invading your town. There is no organization called 'Antifa'--no headquarters, no office, no leaders, no membership lists. It's simply a tactic used ad hoc and run up on social media to see who salutes and rallies for an action. But these internet memes are being micro-targeted to small towns for spreading irrational fears, a fingerprint of a more sophisticated cyberwar campaign. Don't be played for a sucker.
  17. And, much like Muhammad Ali, Mr. Daniels was stripped of his title. I have read about that entire episode and what a shit-show it was for everyone concerned (it seems to me....) I would only posit that fetishizing a big black cock is not a form of anti-racism.... it can be, in fact, quite the opposite.
  18. I totally agree with you - there is definitely a weird enactment of a bizarre power dynamic happening over there - And it's a special space where one can be totally objectionable and hateful and have zero reprecussions as long as you bow and scrape to the Regime in power One forum member pointed out to me that the attacks on me intensified and became wayyyy more personal once I posted pictures of myself and revealed myself to be a fit young Asian guy.... And you are right about choosing not to participate - at first I thought that airing and supporting my beliefs served a purpose there - but then I realized that discussion there really is not about principle, it is about staking about one's turf - like a dog with a bone. A place that puts power (no matter how illusory) in the hands of a nasty bigot is a dangerous place to be.
  19. it's not a question even of being "racist" or "non-racist"..... one is either "racist" or "anti-racist - there are no innocent bystanders setting the bar high.
  20. When I complained, I was given a time out.... the perpetrator was not. OK.... next case....
  21. OK.... this question may sound naïve, and it mat sound like i have some ulterior motive in asking, but i really don't, so here it goes.... i have never in my life encountered such overt racism, ultra-rightism, hatred as i saw during my time as a participant in the daddy site -- and so much bile directed at me - questioning my identity, my credentials, making fun of me.... one particularly hateful bigot there called me "boy"... so where do these guys come from and how did they come to assemble in one place and how do they manage to so dominate the discourse over there? like... i hnestly don't get it!
  22. The member hypothetically announced his departure today because of the prevelance of racism on the site... I was banned, our own @Latbear4blkas well.... most kind of trickle away because they are pounced upon for being adequately deferential
  23. Remember Viola Liuzzo.
  24. There seems to be an exodus (willingly or unwillingly) of persons of color from the Daddy site.... take that for what you will.
